My UK spec TT manual has started to make a creaking noise when i press or depress the clutch pedal, the noise is like a creaking/clicking that can be heard both inside the car and outside...

What could this be?

I first thought it was the cable on its way out, as thats how it sounds...but they are hydraulic... so i am confused

any ideas anybody?

Thanks

Dan

Either the thrust bearing or pressure plate, possibly, When either of these fail, it will be instant.

Could be anything!-pedal pivot dry,Release fork fulcrum dry, clutch cover, release bearing dry on the sleeve....

If the dust cover is missing, could be dry inside!

Release bearing would make a whirring noise when the pedal was pressed it wouldn't creak! More likely just the clutch fork is dry...

ok, so what do i need to do to lube this up...

peel back the rubber boot and get in there with some wd40,try not to get it on plate but iff you do just slip the clutch and it will burn off

where is the rubber boot?

where the pivot goes into bellhousing

Where do i get to this from, do i have to take anything out?

its on the drivers side between gearbox and engine,a little slave cylinder attached to it
