  1. I had a friend with a paint thickness tool measure the car and the rest of the car is 80-90 microns, however the bonnet was 250-290. He thinks that its been respray (maybe several times) and thats why its fading. Ill give the G3 a go, I dont think there will be any cars shows this year, so hopefully can get it sprayed before Simply Japanese 2021 ?
  2. Stick at it otherwise you will get 80% through the next colour and change it again, it will end up like painting the Forth bridge. It looks great now, finish it and enjoy it!
  3. Thanks Chris. On all my cars I pre wash them with autoglym polar, then wash with conditioning shampoo. I then use the autoglym polish followed by a ceramic polish and it works well. The bonnet is do the same, but occasionally (more often than not) T-Cut it first before doing both polishes. I think it's at the point where it can't be saved. I'll give the G3 a try before I give up and get it sprayed! The ceramic polish is brilliant, I love it and it makes the cars look amazing once it has had the 24-48 hours to dry.
  4. I have the red version of T-cut and although it looks good for about a week, it quickly goes pink again and seems to get worse? Maybe I am doing it wrong! I will have to give G3 a go, I have heard good things about it.
  5. Decided to treat the car to a wash and a polish yesterday. My poor bonnett is going pinker and polish does less each time, might have to bite the bullet and get it painted. I also tried my aerosol skills by painting the windscreen wipers with satin black and clear laquer. All in all took me 5 hours to do everything and I managed to sunburn myself in the process. Pretty well spent day off!
  6. There is a dead give-away to your location in this picture...
  7. I really like the Zed logo at the end of the advert in the "A to Z" text
  8. Cool, thank you. I will continue with my upgrade plan then!
  9. Pictures would be really helpful, so yes please! I had to google rose joint, but I know what you mean now. Yes I am going down that road, so will look into tie rod ends, thanks for the tip. From my research the Flex Z comes with everything you need, unless I am missing something? TEIN Street Flex Z Coilovers As their most popular top-of-the-line coilover, the TEIN Flex Z Coilovers are still made in Yokohama Japan and are a true JDM coilover system packed with all of TEIN’s technology. This system incorporates the 16 way adjustable twin tube shocks and includes TEIN top mounts. TEIN pre-assembles these (though check pre-load before installing), so these are easier to install since you don’t have to disassemble your factory shock and spring to remove the top mount. Many applications, depending on suspension design, also include front camber plates to give you a full race suspension with plenty of adjustability for anything from the occasional weekend track enthusiast to competition use. https://uk.tein.com/product/flex_z.html
  10. So I am going to upgrade my suspension (shocks, arms, bushes), I've done some research and found that the TEIN VSN22-C1SS3 FLEX Z seem pretty good and are just in budget. Does anyone have any experience of them? I did look at the street advance Z (cheaper), but they are missing the top hat bit (you reuse the OEM one) and I would rather have all new components and I dont have the tools to be releasing springs off shocks. I've been looking at Driftworks adjustable arms (https://www.driftworks.com/suspension/adjustable-arms/?car_make=nissan&car_model=300zx-z32) and have compiled a list of components using this blog: https://conceptzperformance.com/blog/suspension-101-300zx-edition/ and I think I need: Front Tension Rod Front Lower Control Arm Front Upper Control Arm Rear Lower Control Arm Rear Upper control Arm Rear Traction Rod Rear Toe Rod Has anyone used driftworks before? Is this everything I need? Most of the bits seem to come with new bushes already installed which is helpful, but is there anything else I will need? Also I am planning to do the work myself and then get it setup by an expert, is that possible/safe/stupid?
  11. No one has no excuse to miss it now! ?
  12. For a while now, I have been building a club app, Progress has been slow as I am teaching myself coding at the same time. The app only works on android phones (maybe in the future if I learn how it will be ported to iOS) from version 7.0 (Nougat) and above (sorry Richard!). My phone is on 9.1 (Pie) at the moment and it works fine. I have been testing it on my phone, but need to start testing on other hardware and getting feedback. If you are interested, please PM me with your Gmail address (It has to be a gmail account due to googles android developer rules) and I will send you a link. You will not be able to find the app in the play store as its in testing stage. Below is a video of the app so far, it is a work in progress and some parts are not finished (some haven't been started ?)
  13. Seconded that ConZult doesnt work on windows 10, I have an old laptop with xp that I use for it. Im thinking of treating myself and just buying datascan
  14. Me too, £160 for the year
  15. Damnit! and I thought i was being clever ?
  16. Nice car and a decently colour, too many people buy black/grey/silver and our roads look so boring! Can anyone guess my daily driver?
  17. There is nothing wrong with watching antiques roadshow.... wait.... does that mean im not of a certain age?! I had a spitfire fly over my bus on friday, it was awesome! turns out its quite hard to drive a bus while looking in the sky ?
  18. Don't forget to strap yourself in with the targa straps....
  19. Good to know, I wasnt sure if you have to balance everytime you take them apart
  20. Strange, my cars groaning/grumbling noise normally comes from the front passenger side....usually at a petrol station! My old black NA used to grumble when accelerating, I think it was the propshaft bearing? It sound like it was coming from the boot of the car
  21. Do you have to get the turbos balanced when you rebuild them?
  22. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1992,300zx,3.0l+v6+turbocharged,1209721,engine,timing+belt+&+component+kit,5759 Ive used these guys many times and never had a problem. I even get free fridge magnets of different cars when i open the box!
  23. Hurry up and put it in the car, I want to see (and chase!) your car in the flesh!
  24. The at rest postion is lower than the lowest sweep position (thats why they do a double sweep when you turn them off) All three of my cars, the wipers when off have sat just touching the trim (unless all of mine are wrong!)
  25. Would an electric version then become a 400ZE? or 400EZ? ?
