Ladies and Gentlemen Nissan give you the 400z
I like it from the side and back. That rear quarter view looks really good. Im not liking the front, I think the grill is too big, gopping some might say. Im not a fan of the interior.....its a bit.....vauxhall corsa....To quote Clarkson "Looks like the inside of a mans washbag" Kudos to Nissan for going with an ICE engine especially in these times. Going back to the looks (front end) it is still a prototype and the 2001 GTR prototype did look different to the final release, so maybe they will fine tweak it a bit? As you can see in the picture its similar, but not the GTR we know. Fingers crossed they sort the front out a bit...

Meetup and Drive 20th September 2020
No problem, I hope you get better soon. I know how you feel, I have to use a special cushion when I sit down now. Laying down is ok for me as my weight is spread out over my body, but sitting for more than an hour without my cushion is hard work! I think as there is no other interest, im going to have to cancel this meet. Maybe plan something next month?

The F1 Thread
Unfortunately this is business now. Investors/stockholders own companies and don't care about the business, its future or its morals. As long as they get their profits throughout and at the end, then they don't think about the rest. Once you can get passed that, then life is so much less stressful because you end up not caring.... maybe I should be an investor....where's my cheque book... ?

12v cigarette socket repair
my socket has never worked since I have had the car and thought I would see why... The tang on the actual socket has been snapped off and there is this mess underneath: (Please see photo) I am guessing one of these is the 12v feed for the socket, another is a feed for heated seats or mirrors or something and the blue circle seems to be a blade plug of some sort that shorts on the hand brake and blows the headlight fuse (hence I wrapped it in tape!) Any ideas on how to sort this out?

Power steering pump
Just a quick update, jumped in the car the other day to go to work and the power steering is back, its fine. If anything its better than before (it was heavy most of the time and sometimes light, but always working) now it is light most of the time and occasionally heavy. Im thinking that loose cable you guys mentioned is to blame, but has somehow re-connected?

Wheeler dealers
judging by the LHD, they are still in America? That put me off the show when Mike and Ed went there, I found I had no connection to the cars and less and less episodes became interesting. Has it got better?

NEC classic car show 2020
I would love to offer my car, but I dont think its in show condition. The rust bubbles on the arch and boot lid and pink bonnet might put people off rather than attract them!

Meetup and Drive 20th September 2020
I have planned another trip for people to meet up and drive: Boxhill to (almost) Brighton! The route would be Box Hill in Surrey to the Smugglers Rest at Telscombe Cliffs on the edge of Brighton (ish). The route takes in some A roads, B roads and dual-carriageway. I have been on some of these roads before, but never been to Boxhill! If people met in car park at 12pm, with the aim to leave around 12:30pm, the route should take about 2 hours, so we will arrive at the pub around 14:30(ish). The pub has lots of outside seating, so as long as the weather is nice a large group of us shouldn't be a problem. The pub also has a reasonable sized car park and the views are amazing as its hanging on to the cliff edge overlooking the sea. Nearer the time, when we have more solid numbers, I can always ring up and book. Any numbers over 8 people, I have to call them anyway. Please let me know if you can come, it would be a great way to see out the (sunny part) of the year!

Excellent run out with Ian, roads were nice and quiet. Small diversion when part of the A272 was closed, but it meant we found some country lanes to take pictures on!

Power steering pump
hmmmmm interesting..... For the two+ years I have had the car, the steering has been sometimes light and sometimes heavy. After looking into it last year I came to the conclusion that it was something to do with the actuator/ecu/speed sensor thing. It was mostly heavy, but would go light every so often, on a 90%/10% ratio. I got so used to it being heavy that fixing it was pushed further down my "to do" list. The other day I was driving back from work and it felt heavier and when you turn it is "clunkier", it doesnt turn smoothly. It seems to be really heavy and not so heavy in fits and starts e.i half way through turning round a roundabout. I figured this is the pump as it is a new thing? Am I correct? I would rather not payout for a new pump/rebuild the pump if I dont have to...

Power steering pump
So my pump is dieing, it works when it feels like it which is a bit annoying. Ive been looking online for a new pump. Ebay only has a couple of 2nd hand TT versions. Mine is a NA so the pump is different I believe, it doesnt have the extra connections for the HICAS pump. I found this: https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ridex/8100193?gshp=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-O35BRDVARIsAJU5mQUYKFrFhV_cHhTVprhii57D6tnUgapJz6HGPXwR3M6ml8KuzxNTdjQaApUNEALw_wcB It looks right, but the website says it wouldnt fit my car. Does anyone know where I can get a new pump? I would prefer new or refurbed, however ill take a breaker part if no choice.

Looking for help to diagnose my non starting engine issue
Years ago I bought a cheap compression tester for about £20 off eBay and got similar readings and started panicking. I borrowed an expensive tester from a mechanic friend and got results that were in the correct ballpark. I was amazed at how different the accuracy of the testers were, they are only measuring pressure right? Needless to say the one I bought went in the bin. How much was your tester, is it worth borrowing a decent/expensive/branded kit to make sure the results are accurate?
