  1. I have planned another trip for people to meet up and drive: Boxhill to (almost) Brighton! The route would be Box Hill in Surrey to the Smugglers Rest at Telscombe Cliffs on the edge of Brighton (ish). The route takes in some A roads, B roads and dual-carriageway. I have been on some of these roads before, but never been to Boxhill! If people met in car park at 12pm, with the aim to leave around 12:30pm, the route should take about 2 hours, so we will arrive at the pub around 14:30(ish). The pub has lots of outside seating, so as long as the weather is nice a large group of us shouldn't be a problem. The pub also has a reasonable sized car park and the views are amazing as its hanging on to the cliff edge overlooking the sea. Nearer the time, when we have more solid numbers, I can always ring up and book. Any numbers over 8 people, I have to call them anyway. Please let me know if you can come, it would be a great way to see out the (sunny part) of the year!
  2. Excellent run out with Ian, roads were nice and quiet. Small diversion when part of the A272 was closed, but it meant we found some country lanes to take pictures on!
  3. Anyone here? Anyone coming?
  4. We are here, slight change in plans due to car park and road closed due to the virus. Here is a map of where we are:
  5. ill have to get under the car to have a look and let you know!
  6. looks like just the two of us?
  7. I will have a good look, thanks for the tip!
  8. Ian are you still interested in this? Is anyone else planning on coming? The weather looks good for sunday so that shouldnt put anyone off!
  9. hmmmmm interesting..... For the two+ years I have had the car, the steering has been sometimes light and sometimes heavy. After looking into it last year I came to the conclusion that it was something to do with the actuator/ecu/speed sensor thing. It was mostly heavy, but would go light every so often, on a 90%/10% ratio. I got so used to it being heavy that fixing it was pushed further down my "to do" list. The other day I was driving back from work and it felt heavier and when you turn it is "clunkier", it doesnt turn smoothly. It seems to be really heavy and not so heavy in fits and starts e.i half way through turning round a roundabout. I figured this is the pump as it is a new thing? Am I correct? I would rather not payout for a new pump/rebuild the pump if I dont have to...
  10. So my pump is dieing, it works when it feels like it which is a bit annoying. Ive been looking online for a new pump. Ebay only has a couple of 2nd hand TT versions. Mine is a NA so the pump is different I believe, it doesnt have the extra connections for the HICAS pump. I found this: https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ridex/8100193?gshp=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-O35BRDVARIsAJU5mQUYKFrFhV_cHhTVprhii57D6tnUgapJz6HGPXwR3M6ml8KuzxNTdjQaApUNEALw_wcB It looks right, but the website says it wouldnt fit my car. Does anyone know where I can get a new pump? I would prefer new or refurbed, however ill take a breaker part if no choice.
  11. anyone fancy a quick club whip-round.... we could time share it for track days....
  12. Want.....one.....Of.....Those.......
  13. Jimmer in Bristol. Zed Specialist. ?
  14. Years ago I bought a cheap compression tester for about £20 off eBay and got similar readings and started panicking. I borrowed an expensive tester from a mechanic friend and got results that were in the correct ballpark. I was amazed at how different the accuracy of the testers were, they are only measuring pressure right? Needless to say the one I bought went in the bin. How much was your tester, is it worth borrowing a decent/expensive/branded kit to make sure the results are accurate?
  15. I prefer the early looks, I think the early front bumper looks nicer than the 99 spec ones. I also think some cars are dated when you look at them, but the early Zed isn't one of them. Put it next to a civic type R or a focus ST and they will look over designed and childish, where as the zed will look mature, subtle and quietly proud.... I will however accept I am heavily biased as I own two 1991's ?
  16. Have the comments been deleted because all I could see were people continuously asking about the spoiler being repainted (if I was asked 7 times, I would be more pissed off than he seemed) and some guy saying the car needs it's 60k service (when it's only on 18k), which would piss me off too!
  17. Here is the PDF of the route so if people get lost they can get back on track! 23rd August Route.pdf
  18. I have planned another trip for people to meet up and drive. I've tried to have this one further down the coast so South and maybe some South West guys can come along! The route would be Salisbury to the Roman Villa at Fishbourne on the edge of Chichester. The route takes in Some A roads, B roads and a leg stretch at Cheesefoot Head. I have been on these roads before, but not for a long time. If people met in Salisbury at the cathedral car park at 10am, with the aim to leave around 11am, the route should take about 2 hours with the leg stretch so we will arrive at Fishbourne around 1pm. There is a cafe there so lunch can be bought or brought.
  19. Shame you got separated, when we turned off the A22 and you didnt, I spun round to see if I could find you while the others hung back to see if you came past, but we couldnt ttrack you down. I think you got to Tilbury Park way before us in the end. I really enjoyed today, so ill start planning another, but each person will get a map this time!
  20. We are next to the Eastbourne Eye
  21. Too be fair £10 of the price was insurance as they would only cover up to £50, so I had to take out the optional insurance to cover up to £1000
  22. Ah thats a shame Richard, was looking forward to seeing you guys again!
  23. Welcome, I might be interested in some bits later. Shame another one has died though...
