Whats it like? My broadband contract is just about up and im thinking of getting skyplus and looking at the sky website it looks as thought maybe sky broadband is free? Not sure really as the website doesnt really tell you alot. What sort of speeds you getting? cost? whats the wifi router like? Thanks all

Actually i had noticed this on my balck zed as well. Daves looks really sweet, how is the paint standing up to the test of driving though as i thought it was different paint to be more resistant to stone chips..?

Hope he gets better soon, as said before thoughts for his family! In the papers today it seems it was a tyre blow out at upwards of 280mph! Anyone got more of an update? Im hoping no news is good news at the moment for the lil fella! Edit: I also think its disgusting that people feel the need to use this accident as an excuse to complain about the example top gear sets for drivers. For Fooks sake we live in such a nanny state as it is, why shouldn't skilled drivers be able to demonstrate what cars were really built to do in controlled circumstances?

Man they are not cheap are they? Could probably get a manual conversion done for the same cost as fitting a new Tq convertor!

On a standard cigarette lighter adapter which bit is based on earth and which is positive? Im guessing the fused, point end is positive and the bits that connect with the side of the lighter are earth?

Did the clear lacuer make much difference? Ive never bothered to lacquer plastic before?

Plastikote it is then. What sort of finish would it be to match the nissan one? Also would it be worth prime-ing first or just spraying a few thin coats?

Hoping for advice more than paint lol! Im just about to respray my center section that goes around the radio and am not sure what to use. I want a finish as close to OEM as possible, so was thinking about maybe Plastikote as I have used on that on other bits before and it gives a nice finish and generally doesnt need primer. After advice really from people that have resprayed (even from the guys that have sprayed silver etc.) Thanks

think it would depend on the cost difference to me. All in your looking at a manual conv costing betweeen £1100 and £1500 in labour vat etc, if the fast road box was good and £300-500 plus a bit of fitting might be worth it.

Also anyone that knows where i can get the cover assemberly (other than courtesy nissan) would be welcome! Courtesy want $280 for the cover which is about £150 and way too much IMHO for what im after

Hi guys and girls, im basically after someone skilled in fabrication fiberglass etc to help me intergrate my car pc screen to the zed. Clearly im willing to pay and have the screen and a spare zed center section available. The effect im after is something along the lines of the 350z (pictures attached) with a screen cover for when i leave the car. Looking at the install on the face of it almost looks as if the 350z section would fit in the 300 double radio slots. Only thing is the 350 section looks to be alot more curved than the straight lines of our zeds, and basically im not convinced my fabrication / fiberglass skills are upto it. If anyone can help me get this sorted for reasonable ££ i would be very grateful! Cheers andy

my insurance on my zed was coming up for renewal. Did a search here and started phoneing round, ended up at A-plan (01635 874646) and saved £300 on my adrian flux renewal quote. Friendly staff, helpful AND cheap quote with decent cover! If your insurance is due cant hurt to try them!

Its always nice to have someone that does things like this for a passion not just buisness. If he is ever planning a trip to my area and is after beer etc id be more than happy to let him at my zed!

Dont suppose the guy that did yours wants a day trip to lincoln does he? Mine could do with some of that treatment!

USB hub wise, mine is unpowered for usb 1 devices but if i want to use any usb2 ones it needs power. I think i might get away with out powering the hub and just connect the usb 2 devices ive got direct to the computer

Thanks guys n girls. My amps are already set up in the car using a switched live from the battery and earthed direct to the batery as well. Its more the removal of my headunit and fitting of the pc im working on. Il be feeding my amps froma creative 5.1 soundcard connected via usb to the laptop, then rca to the amps so im hoping this setup should work nicely... Thoughts?

Im getting round to installing my carputer in the zed and a few of the items im adding have cigeratte lighter adapters. I was wondering if i could just create like a little "busbar" from the cigertte lighter and connect them from this one power source.. Im just wondering if it is feasable or if i should try and source some other ignition switch power circuits in the car... Ref. im looking at running touchscreen power, laptop charger and maybe my usb hub from the lighter.. Thanks andy

Hmm, the blue smoke might just be a bit of excess oil burning off, or maybe due to the PVC valves being in need of replacement. My tester took the car for a quick run down the street to warm it up and the smoking stopped (my pcv valves are in need of replacing) and the zed easily passed the emissions test. Due to the age of my zed it still has to pass an emission test, but its really generous due to the pre 92 car regulations. HTH

Yes sorry didnt explain what i meant very well. Clearly acceleration will drop off at speed.. so we think any kind of performance super car would be circa 30 sec 1mile from standing (maybe towards 25?) Thanks guys

Thanks guys, im trying to get a good finish to an intergrated touchscreen in my zed. I will let you know how i get on! (as im usually sh1t at stuff like this! thankfully ive got a spare center section to practise on first!)
