  1. Fitted my hids a while back but only recently noticed ive lost my drivers side main beam (hids are on the dipped circuit). Im a bit confused why.... my hids are wired with a new relay wired direct from the battery to the hids. The relay is triggered from the passenger side stock dipped circuit, and then connected to each of the ballasts. The HID's work fine but i have lost the main beam drivers side. THe sotck nissan dipped circuit drivers side is disconnected (as i only need one trigger for the hids..) but surly the main beam isnt dependant on a working dipped circuit.. Ideas anyone? (Also, how damn cool are HID's    )
  2. Result! After sending my old set of goodridge hoses that were supposed to fit a zed back to the exeter section of goodridge the new kit arrived this week. Fitted perfectly! Pedal feel is better and brakeing is more effective! For those guys holding on to a duff kit with incorrect fitment I contacted; Goodridge (UK) Ltd Exeter Airport Business Park Exeter EX5 2UP United Kingdom T +44 (0) 1392 369090 F +44 (0) 1392 441780 Spoke with a guy called James Wills and was very helpful. HTH others
  3. If its dixon nissan in york i wouldnt bother! took my 200sx to them and they put the cat on the wrong way round (plus a load of other things they fooked up!) If its just for an mot any garage can give the car the once over and pass the mot
  4. Its more for when you get into the car and its dark, then the extra light helps you find stuff inside the car (ie getting the key in the ignition, finding cds out etc....) Thanks vijay, im hoping to add my extras in out of sight so behind the passenger panel would seem ideal... We talking the panel to your left if you were sat in the rear passenger seat (2+2) or the panel down by the ecu etc?
  5. Also found these on an american site; 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo 5.6 14.1 1991 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 7.5 15.9 1991 Nissan 300ZX Turbo (auto) 7.0 15.4 1992 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 5.7 14.2 1993 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 5.2 13.8 1994 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 6.0 14.4 1995 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 5.5 13.9 Seems to suggest the cars varied in speed depending which year your zed was from... first time is 0-60 second is for a standing 1/4 mile
  6. The times quoted in magazines are not much use anyway as its difficult to reproduce them (they dont care about the car at all , and were based when our cars were 15 years younger!) best figures are those quoted by legrath above for as uk TT manual as he managed them on the road (private clearly..) with the car 10+ years old
  7. At least get it down to a garage for them to have a look at before you sell it. A zed witha broken engine isnt going to sell for much cash im afraid when you can pick up decent ones for around 4k! Hope its nothing major
  8. Il try and get some video of mine when its finished, just hoping i can find somewhere near the light to hide the relay etc thats required..
  9. Thanks, have done, but going to try and use it with a 10 sec delay before it fades. Got a 10sec delay relay im going to put in fromt, so door closes, 10sec at full light then it starts to fade out  (simple thing i know but all helps)
  10. Honestly, i love my zed but 15 years worth of updated engineering would see a 350z faster around a track than a standard zed. 350z handles really nicely IMHO stock, and should be faster around a track. Drag style as top gear really, zed should win based on a decent start.
  11. Think it must be an after market thing nice work though, as il be out witha soldering iron this weekend trying to sort it...
  12. Im trying to build an interior light delay/dimmer for the zed. Just wondering if its worth me buying several sets of components incase anyone else is after one. Thinking along the lines of a 10second delay from closing the door and then the light to go off or dim. If not, then il just get some for myself lol...
  13. Fitted the front section this morning, wasnt too bad at all Just got the rear one to sort over the weekend... Edit: Did notice that i didnt have any aircon pipes in the way as depicted in the fitting instructions... Strange? Wondered if it was just a function of the american instructions, or maybe if my zed doesnt have aircon ??
  14. Fitting this at the weekend.. any tips off anyone that has done this before? Thanks andy
  15. Half throttle? What does that mean
  16. I should be less lazy and get myself some sort of signature picture!
  17. If you look on the link above, andy has compared his to a jwt chip and it seems as though andys chip was better in all tests
  18. If only id got a set to swap you id take them off your hands!
  19. PTU=Power transistor unit.. (coil packs..) each plug has its own coil pack that receives a signal from the PTU, as for testing them someone will be along soon to help... (PTU is on the fron face of the engine drivers side if that helps)
  20. Might be the TPS (throttle position sensor) or the MAF (mass airflow sensor). It would be worth cleaning the wiring loom for both and seeing if it helps. The TPS can be found on the passenger side of the engine at the front of the plenam. The loom go's from the TPS down to the Crank angle sensor so give it all a good clean. The MAF is down by the air filter (under the panel between the headlights) and again give the loom a good clean. If your lucky cleaining the looms might just clear the fault...(if not a proper tech wizzard will be along in a bit with some other ideas...) Andy
  21. Its just a shame that turbo swap on a zed = engine out!
  22. Im expecting a dirty job, but it has to worth the hasstle of getting it done!
  23. Just got my zed back from having the rear sill welded and need to get on and underseal the car. im going to go for waxoyl, Im expecting a dirty job but after bit of advice really. Guessing the old underseal can stay on the car as long as its clean and just add a new layer ontop? Guessing waxoyl can be applyed to most of the underside of the car? anywhere to avoid (drain holes etc...suspension components..) Also, guessing it can just be brushed on with a paint brush?
  24.
