Other thing is, i wonder if its a waste to have a new laptop, with a decent 14in size screen just sat in my car? And end up using a 7in monitor?

Main varibale is down to the parts, labour for this job is running about £400 at the moment. So if you can source the parts cheaper adjust the prices accordingly

Im still not convinced i can be bothered in the side effects of a computer running windows in a car! Id be mostly after it for mp3s and datascan, i just cannot find a nice bit of software for in car satnav. They all look a bit bobbins to me, and not like a finished project. Im probably going to go the touchscreen route, ive got pretty much all the extra bits i need apart from the touchscreen and the laptop (hence this post lol)

I have recently had to claim on my home insurance for an accident with an old laptop. They are sending me about £400 of PCworld vouchers to cover the old machine (more than fair) and im thinking i should get something to work as a carputer. Thing is, im not sure where to go (due to my indescission really!). I dont have a touchscreen yet and money is a bit tight so dont want to get one unless its the right solution for me. Was wondering about an Ipaq but then it wont run datascan which id quite like in my car (althought probably not use that much if im honest!) Is there any other option i have missed for about £400 other than a laptop or an Ipaq that i could get? Guessing not, legrath if you read this what sort of cost am i looking at for a touchscreen to work with a laptop in the zed?

Hav heard that the new roadangel one is pretty good and would do what your mate wants plus play mp3's. Ive not seen it myself but sounds good

Could be interested looks a ncie bit of kit. Any chance if you had an incar pc you could use it for satnav as well? The software seems to have maps etc, so presumably you could connect the gps etc up direct to the laptop?

After market boost guage? Or just the feel of the car (although difficult if you have nothing to guage it against..)

Auto will stay in boost and clearly wont kickdown from a standing start as it will have already started in first gear and will only change up when required. At slow speed the same counts unless you are in 2nd gear in the auto in which case you would want it kickdown anyways to maximise what you can get out of first. I doubt you would be able to change gear quick enough on any turbo car without dumping boost as its a function of throttle position but it really wouldnt make a huge difference. The bonus with an auto for standing starts is a fair bit less skill is required to get the right (ie no clutch issues..) so you just rev holding the brake then let go and plant your right fight at a speed just below wheel spin. HTH

Full exhaust but does still have the cats in. Do have 2x blitz BOV's but if i do have new turbos at any stage, i would go for a more racey downpipe / manifold option to make the most of it. Think im going to go for 14pis over the next few months and then get the aircon/hicas out. Looking towards the full lightened pully set after that and see how the car feels after that. Does the zed have an engine bleed point for the water system after ive put the rad in? Or will it be good enough just to run the zed with the cap off the new rad and top up until the thermostat opens?
