  1. Just recieved my relay from cpc, but it doesnt have any bloody laybles that i can see! Has no numbers on the bottom at all or anything that makes the pins job obvious. I need some help please as to which is the trigger and which the load? The relay is a NAIS ALE15B05 The left hand side says 16A277VAC & 16A 30VDC Right hand side says 16A250V~COS0=1 & 16A 30V 0ms Im guessing the left is the trigger? and right the load? Cheers guys
  2. I was thinking more a stand off weapon, so maybe a cruise missile, or a 1000lb paveway? (Always use a hammer to crack an egg me....)
  3. Exactly, your spec sounds close to the situation i would like my zed in by this time next year. Do you have a guide for removing the aircon jon? As for removing the hicas, i have seen a guide to doing it somewhere and it doesnt look too bad. The hicas elim bars look pretty good, and there is lots of pipe work that can be removed.
  4. Nice idea willie, although thankfully i did manage it with out sparking. Decided this wasnt an area to man up and hope for the best, so disconnect the battery i did. Thanks for the help though guys, gets the mrs off my back for a while
  5. I hear you danny, and ive just about driven and watched the dials move, the replayed the recording to show lots of useless stats about the run id just done! It appears to have LOTS of features but il be damned if i have any idea where to start using them

No its different. Well certainly different to the one on the s14
  7. Any one had enough experiance with this over the past few months to write a guide? The program seems to offer lots more than i use it for (which isnt much really!) but ive no idea where to start! Was thinking maybe someone else could post some ballpark figures for what a standard (ish) well performing zed should look like.... Cheers all
  8. Ive mostly got nothing better to do, so il be in... Although im noticing a trend here... zed owners have nothing better to do... do you think its that every spare £££ is eaten up by the motor? lol
  9. Irony of which using aircon increases global warming (reduced mpg and nasty coolant (in older systems ) lol! My zed will be going on a diet once i get the other niggly things sorted!
  10. It will be your aircon next as well! (Be amazed how light a zed could become if you ditch hicas, aircon, egr, carbon canister, aivv cats... etc) the zed diet!
  11. Just seen a trail for this and it looks pretty decent! When i saw it on dr who thought there was potential for something like this!
  12. Need more threads like this to lighten the tone... but andy what we all need to know is what oil you use lol
  13. I always learn things the hard way and always forget the bloody battery untill things start sparking! Not best practise, just normal lol
  14. Be interested to see what settings you end up using! Had my profec fitted for about 6 months and still not managed to get it set up how i would like!
  15. music to my ears, just what i was hoping to hear!
  16. Mate that looks soo cool, bet it sounds it too! You planning on using it as a daily driver lol?
  17. Cheers vjay, so from that im guessing i need pin 1 to trigger the relay? And the connect the other side of the trigger to pin 4?
  18. Guys NZR but im swapping the mrs alternator tomorrow, and just wondering if there is anything in particular i should know before getting stuck in? Its an mx5 and access doesnt look too bad, but just wondering if anyone has tips...
  19. Thanks guys, Im hoping my creative 5.1 soundcard should be fine to drive the amps but will find out over the next few days i guess! Cheers for the relay andy, i have been beating my head over the bloody maplin and rs components online offerings, its bloody impossible to find anything! Any idea which pins on the usb port are the +5v ones, i can not remember from memory
  20. Thanks john, it was more precaution really as im powering my laptop with an invertor so trying to reduce as much background noise as possible. I am using shielded rca cables and good earth/power leads but concerned the invertor might mess things up a bit! Also, dont suppose in your ICE type role you would have access to an relays? Im after a relay that will trigger at 5v (from my usb port ) and pass 12v about 5amp on the switched side and really struggleing to find anything in the maze that is maplins online!
  21. To get to it you need to remove the surround. If you remove the radio surround then you will be able to get at two screws hidden underneth that hold the entire gearstick/handbrake surround in place. There is also a screw in the armrest and under the ash tray if i remember rightly. HTH
  22. Should have made it more clear, the earth cable does match the power cable, this is just an extra earth for the amp caseing to make sure i get no ground loop
  23. Im just tweaking my install at the moment and have a reasonable amount of decent quality speaker cable (shielded and oxy free) left over. Ive been reading around and there seems to be alot of advice on the web regarding earthing the case of the amp to help avoid ground loop and i was just wondering if my left over HQ cable would do the job? Thoughts?
  24. I would normally be against shuey wining, but in this case i feel the way the mighty red cars and shuey have pulled the championship back and with him retiring they really do deserve to win both the drivers and manufactorers titles. (and all this without mentioning which cheese eating nation makes the engines for those blue/yellow cars!) Personnaly i would really like to see spyker get a decent finish before the end of the season!
  25. LOL, sounds just like the kind of thing i would do!
