  1. Only driven it round the corner to the MOT place so far as it's not registered, but seemed really nice. Runs so much smoother than my other one, and the MOT guy was impressed, said it was very clean underneath. And yea I've already got a replica plate made up and it's on the car, don't have a picture at the moment though. Did that before the MOT. Tried Nissan for a genuine one but the UK told me to speak to Japan and predictably Japan told me to talk to the UK so I gave up on that!
  2. An update on this, went quiet whilst I figured out a few things. Some of you will disagree of course, but despite the offer of a full refund, I've decided to keep it. We got the history and indeed it was back in 2003 the change happened so not a recent thing, and what with the fact the auction house never actually tried to hide it or anything, it's legality was proved. I really like it, it's exactly what I was looking for, and yes it might be worth a bit less in the future whenever I decide to sell it but I decided I don't care, life's too short to worry too much about it. Besides, it would cost me a fortune to get another one in this condition! So yea I'm really pleased :thumbup1: In a turn up for the books, the NOVA came through under the original GCZ number, wasn't expecting that! So I got a VIN plate made up with that on it, and I now have an MOT under that number as well. So now hopefully the DVLA will register it under that number as it matches all the rest of the documentation, will have to wait and see. Would treat you to a picture of it looking all shiny, but it started raining today just as I'd finished washing it!
  3. Just tested the keyless entry unit on my 95 (I presume series 4?) as per FSM and it's not working properly, boot release isn't working. I may at some point upgrade to a proper thatcham alarm, but in the mean time, anyone know of one of these knocking about? (Well I suppose now I think of it the fob button might not be working but I can't think of a way to test that so unit it is )

Have been told my original drivers leather seat is beyond repair as the leather is too old for it to be re-stretched and stitched. So is there by any chance any decent leather seats out there? My passengers one isn't too bad so only need the one really. I presume if someone's got a decent passengers seat that I could switch the subframe over and all would be dandy? If I can't find one, I might just get some interior innovation covers as a stop gap. Shame I missed Mondo's group buy...
  5. Just gun it everywhere! :tt2:
  6. But if you've already got more than enough work, is that relevant? It might get you different work, but if you're still charging them the same rate then it won't generate anymore revenue for you, and your profit would go down with the increased overheads
  7. Personally I kinda think the rear might look better over two lines, less empty yellow space around the edge. Maybe I'm just used to mine though!
  8. Me and my girlfriend just bought my first house (yesterday actually!), and out of the must be nearly 100 adverts I looked at I didn't see one single picture of the inside of a garage. Most barely had any dedicated pictures of the garage at all, unless it was something special. I would say most had the garage dimensions, but not all certainly. You're right, people just don't care and to be honest if you're not into cars then I can see why, they do take up a lot of room. But our new one has side access with pleeenty of room for a nice big double, can't wait to get my zed out from underneath the trees outside my parents house and in where it's dry! :punk::punk::punk::punk:
  9. Nice, what skirts are they?
  10. Si on webcam? Now we're talking :-P
  11. Any pictures of the front?
  12. 8.5, I have 12mm more inside clearance than stock. I consider mine to be pretty much flush That's pretty much all the photos I have though! With the extra height you may get away without stretched tyres. But stock suspension is also pretty soft so you could end up hitting them over bumps. Hard to say and I'm hardly an expert, but personally I'd be wary of having non-stretched tyres on those. Not that I like stretched tyres :-P
  13. Oh and mines on lowering springs
  14. Mine sit 38mm further out at the front, this is a really crap photo but best I got at the moment Depends what tyres you want I suppose
  15. I don't think he meant the majority of cars on this forum, he meant all the cars in the UK as a whole. How many of the zeds in the UK are not on this forum? Must be quite a lot, I would hazard a guess at considerably more than are on it (really hard to know though of course). And as members of a one make club, you would assume the cars on here are better than most. Look at the spread of cars on gumtree and ebay, I think I would agree with Jeff's assessment there... so many are "projects" Plus, being pedantic as ever, he actually said "mediocre", not "rusty and knackered" :tt2:
  16. Have a play around with this. Stock fronts are 7.5J +45 offset I believe https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#
  17. How much oil is the same as any car, up to the level of the fill hole (so until it starts coming out), so just make sure the car is level when you fill it
  18. Had never heard about the recall. Does prove Nissan thought the original design was dodgy though, worth remembering next time this rears it's head :gun_bandana:
  19. Look pretty much exactly the same to me :tt2:
  20. AFAIK that vacuum is a bit low so I would start with a boost leak test, then maybe compression test if that doesn't bring anything up
  21. Oh yea I've got a mileage restriction, mad not to. But you don't need a classic policy for that, got one on my daily
  22. Quite possibly. As we have discussed on here before, people's experiences tend to vary wildly so you need to try a few!
  23. I really wouldn't get hung up over whether it's a classic policy or not anyway. I never bother saying what type of policy I want, I let them decode based on my mod list
