  1. I've seen a few people say they've ruined their cars by installing poly bushes. I would suspect you're looking for a problem that doesn't exist, if you've replaced everything with poly like you said, your rear suspension is just that hard
  2. Unfortunately that doesn't mean much to most of us  How many hides to do a car? How much is a "normal" hide? Whats the difference between the two, thus what is the overall price increase? For all I know a "normal" hide is £5 and you use 5 a car so that's an extra £1475 :smartass:
  3. You can cancel your current policy if you find a better one. I've cancelled a few policies in the past. It could save you a fortune this year!
  4. Some insurers told me it would add loads, some said it wouldn't change anything. Think sky said it wouldn't, did you try them?
  5. Are they adjustable height? I'm no expert at all but I don't think you normally adjust the stroke length? Sounds to me like you either need stiffer springs, stronger damping (are yours adjustable?) or a combination of the two - - - Updated - - - Adjusting the stroke length without changing the springs or damping will just result in you hitting the bump stops - - - Updated - - - Is that updated feature new?!?!
  6. Ha I did wonder, that's a good personal workshop!
  7. That's a hell of a lot of work! Looks great though. Is that Jim's new workshop? Definitely not the one I went to!
  8. Don't suppose anyone has a black TT bumper in reasonable condition lying around do they? Near Wokingham or Bath (or in-between) would be perfect so I can collect. The paint on mine is ruined, and even though I won't be using the car that much longer it would be nice to tidy it up a bit. Anything will be an improvement on what's on there now!! Should have tried ages ago but there you are
  9. Plastic isn't necessarily flexible, can be brittle!
  10. Does that include your own post? :-P
  11. Quite possibly me I think! Ha I feel all famous now :-P yea wouldn't have had my lights on, but the logo it lights up with the brake lights as well. Had my tops off as it was boiling when I left Bath, was a bit nippy by the time I got to Reading though! Terrible picture but this is the best rear shot I have
  12. What are the suspension differences between them then?
  13. Hate to go back on topic, but if your friend can't see the difference between owning a TT and a zed then they don't know jack about cars so not worth listening to! :slap: my old man got a 1.8T convertible TT recently, seems really nice but not comparable to the zed as they're so different
  14. I've got 275/35/18 on my 9.5" rears, +35 offset. Personally (and I know it varies a bit tyre to tyre) I wouldn't want to go any narrower as there is little enough rim protection as it is. And the tyres don't look that fat on them to my eyes, I wouldn't mind 285s but would need the arches rolling for that
  15. Whats the matter with a simple email system? Or PMs?
  16. For second hand, I would try Baz on here or Banzai breakers on ebay. That and put a wanted ad up in the classifieds!
  17. Aren't there a LOT of changes between the two, far more than just the engines? Steering rack for a start, gonna change that? I can't see it being worth it financially, and I don't think you could compare an NA conversion to a genuine 99 TT money wise. I think many would see it as spoilt and unoriginal, which as someone else said is sort of the point of the 99's isn't it?
  18. Running the same size tap through may be enough to get the bolt in, though doesn't really sound like it if it's falling out after going in. I would try a helicoil or drill it out and tap to a bigger size
  19. There's a big difference between dwelling on what went wrong and learning from mistakes. It sounds now like you did put the right stuff in but it will be good to check. Got a receipt or anything if the bottle is gone?
  20. Yep Matt, Harris and Rory for me too, they're great. Sabine and Eddie are not so good, they don't pull off the staged bits well, but I don't dislike them and they may get better. It's not as if they actually did that much anyway. Wonder if they'll still try and get Button on if (well when) he get's the boot from McLaren and if he doesn't go to another team. On an unrelated note I really don't like this 6 episode series thing the BBC have been doing for the last few years or however long it is, it's really not long enough.
  21. Whilst this is all true, you could argue by the same logic that Cornwall should leave the UK as they only have a small percentage of the votes that lead to their government, and all those people all over the rest of the country don't understand what it's like living in Cornwall, which they quite possibly don't, and they just get bossed around by everyone else, which they quite possibly do. You've got to draw the line somewhere, wherever you think that is. I think this is what's happening with the north recently, they think "Westminster" is too far away, don't like being bossed around by them and think they're out of touch with the north.
  22. At the top you say how the PM is not directly elected but chosen by the MPs that we vote for. Then at the bottom call EU people unelected. Well they're elected in the same way the PM is, we vote for MEPs, they vote for a leader. This whole "unelected bureaucrats" thing is largely a myth, as I think most people would not call the PM "unelected" in the same way. It's almost as bad as the old "Brussels bossing us around" line...
