Was chatting a nice friend this weekend who bought a brand new Audi TT, we were both discussing about wich car has better performance; he was trying to convince me that I should sell my Z and go for a brand new TT but...I was trying to explain to him that my Z 1996 green cobalt and actually 80.000Kms is way much more car than a brand new TT, despite all the new tech that today´s cars brings wich I could care less, cuz when I go into the Z the last thing that pops up my mind is listening or focusing on gps or high performance music. This brings me a good discussion about would it be worth selling a stunning good condition Z for a audi tt? new?

Pays ur money takes ur choice!

no way does a hair dressers car even compare to a piece of iconic japanese design

when a zed goes by people look do they do that with a TT

I thought similar and bought a 370z, hated it, gone within a few months, modern sports cars can't hold a candle to the z32,

Was going to make a hair dressing comment but got beat to it, but let's face it audi tt isn't really even a sports car.

Totally different ends of the spectrum, no point comparing, both cars have good and bad merits.

Oh and wich has a letter "h" in it ie : WHICH ...lo

You haven't given up correcting people's spelling on the internet yet? I'm impressed.

Are we guys seriously comparing an na 220hp 2l 4banger to a 280hp 3l v6 TT supercar? Compare it to the new miata.

Thank you buddy; you know? when I lived in the states for 25 years there has always been something that caught my attention in a bad way about Americans. And that was the ability they always have to make fun out of people who are not native when they mispelled a word.

In Spain i work with Red Cross and child support, and on my free time I work with summer camp children who spend their vacation in Spain. Of all the years I have done this beautiful job when children or even adults from UK I suppose your country; and anyone who is not spanish, who said words that are not correct I would never ever cross my mind to correct them.Because I know sometimes anyone can goof up in a word specially not being native. But hey, if you felt happy and fully satisified correcting my WICH and you feel you can sleep nice and happy tonight with that; congratulations my friend!:)):thumbup1:

I too dislike the American obsession with grammar and spelling. Language is fluid, slang is speach and linguistic development, deal with it. Plus the fact they can't spell colour anyway.

Even on here I've seen people with atrocious grammar, not using a single punctuation the whole 4 line paragraph which makes it partially illegible, but it really isn't worth the effort opening that can of worms. Just ignore it.

I have both cars and yes they are two different drives but it has to be said the Audi is a lot cheaper to maintain

Oh the irony....... satisified

Take it easy bud...:smartass:

I don't. Keep the standards of language at a good level. There's no excuse for laziness. I'm no Poet Laureate, nor will I ever been a Man-Booker prize winner, but I believe in good grammar and making an effort to the use of your own language - GCSE stuff! lol :)

...not to mention that almost every computer you use has its own spell checker.

Funky, ever thought the fact that many Z owners are not Brit native or from other countries? I mean according to this yes you are right, but why not make a Note banner on the front board before jing stating: NOTE: YOU MUST BE FLUENT PERFECT ENGLISH SPEAK AND WRITE IN ORDER TO JOIN THE BOARD, AND MAKE NO MISTAKE IN A SINGLE WORD, SO THAT PROFESSOR JEFF AND FUNKY WILL NOT JUMP ON YOU.

Seriously I have been member here since 2007 and to be honest I feel so dissapointed, not a big drama but I think all the years I have been here I never had a single problem with anyone, been always respectful and nice to everyone and considered this board like a group of friends talking about our passion towards Z cars. But hey cool with me. Eventhough I really think this gives a very poor image of the board to people who are not native english.

Whoa... Si's point is not that everyone has to have perfect spelling and grammar. He has nothing against non native people. He is saying (as i interpret it) that 'there's no excuse' for laziness; i.e. people consciously writing like dis cuz u cba to writ properly.

Don't take this personally, Si has every right to want people to write properly.

Right is right Si, but marching around with your red pen being a self righteous dousche is something quite different. I'm being general here rather than targeted, before any one person gets upset.

Hate to go back on topic, but if your friend can't see the difference between owning a TT and a zed then they don't know jack about cars so not worth listening to! :slap: my old man got a 1.8T convertible TT recently, seems really nice but not comparable to the zed as they're so different

Douche.

Sorry! I honestly couldn't resist!  :ban:

You do have a point there:) now it would have been different if he was reffering to an Audi R8 V10, but TT? eventhough I think the car itself looks cute for a daily ride to the beach.

Sums it up pretty well. Not many associate the Z as a "cute" car. The Z has a much bolder and striking image. The Audi, not so much.
