  1. Not sure what you mean? I'm not saying anyone was wrong to vote for that reason, just wondering if that is the reason, or part of it at least. I'm not saying they'll think they've made a huge mistake and will regret it, if my conjecture was true then they clearly couldn't have been fussed about staying in the EU anyway, just wondering whether that was enough to tip them to leave
  2. Tbh I wouldn't be all that surprised if it never actually happened. Cameron seems to be deferring the responsibility of actually triggering article 50, who knows what will actually happen. So much could change before the article is invoked that the situation could change. Seems unlikely right now, just saying though. Would be extremely shaky ground to ignore the vote
  3. I can't help but think that actually most (as in over 50%) of the country don't really want to leave when it comes down to it, they were just protest voting against the establishment, and there was enough of them to just tip it over the edge. But hey they did vote that way so that's that, not saying we should ignore them because of it. Just saying how many people voted against Cameron just cus they hate him? Lot of talk about labour voters being more strongly leave than thought, maybe that's partly why. If people that "don't know enough" voted with their hearts...
  4. To stop some of the defecting to ukip I believe. Oh how that's backfired...
  5. Thing is he's not really the person to be leading the negotiations to leave is he, as he was so vehemently for staying. On a personal level, he may baulk at the idea. Can't say I'm a massive fan of his, but at least he tried to liberalize the tories, which is a good thing IMO but of course not everyone will agree. I imagine the more right wing Tories will have more power in the party now
  6. What the hell, this is ridiculous. I never said I believed that, I said that's what the news is reporting, which I think you'll find it is! And what I'm not allowed to speculate about my own immediate personal impact? What the hell else am I supposed to do, the vote is over and now we've got to deal with the consequences. I can only deal with my own personal ones!
  7. The attempt to clarify being an implicit admission that I can understand my earlier comments were not clear and could be taken the wrong way
  8. Besides, my "I don't see how" statement was relating to the text directly above it, not my earlier posts that I was trying to clarify
  9. Erm yea probably a good time to remind you this is a car forum, not a bloody party conference. I didn't have my aid proof read it for me, I wrote it in a hurry whilst waiting for the water cooler. Sorry if I didn't quite manage to nail my speech spot on, wonder if the financial markets will ever forgive me
  10. Not much talk about what northern Ireland will do, makes you wonder as they were fairly strong for remain. I'm really cluttering this thread now, must stop!
  11. All I was trying to say is that that's what it looks like to the outside world. We have blown away our international image of an inclusive society because of the insular vote. I think as a collective whole, that's what we now look like. I don't see how that is calling every single person that ever even entertained the idea that they might vote out a racist. Oh and I'm sure Scotland is off now. Not sure I could blame them really.
  12. I hardly picked out individuals. The news is all saying this vote was won on immigration. The country as a whole it seems has voted to close our borders despite the economic warnings. Some of them will be racists that didn't care about anything else, the figure of speech was saying that it was everyone
  13. Oh and that might be the average, but I know plenty of people 26 years old with mortgages, hence my assertion that he might have one
  14. What do you think people do until they're 26? Sit there and twiddle their thumbs?!? You either leave school and get a job, or leave uni at about 22 and get a job. Unemployment is not that high. How are they not "real" jobs. I didn't say they were uneducated, I just said they care more about immigration than anything else.
  15. Blimey it's only a figure of speech, chill out
  16. Everyone is saying this vote was won on the basis of immigration. Only 1/3 of our immigration comes from fur EU, people just voted that was because they're fed up with johnny foreigners
  17. Well alright 51.9% of them anyway
  18. If it carries on like this how on earth will it not affect him?!? It's going to affect everybody! He still has money, will ness to buy food when he leaves home, goes on holidays, needs to buy parts for his zed which is gonna cost a fortune now. By 26 he'll probably be paying rent or a mortgage or whatever. Really looking forward to paying for my zed when it arrives.... need to find out if I pay duty and tax on what I actually spent when I bought it, or the equivalent when it arrives. Had a lot of parts I wanted from America, gonna cost a lot more now. What a joke, we all say we're a great, accepting, multicultural society. No we're not, we're a bunch of insular, racist biggots who don't care it's my generation that's gonna have to pay for all this.
  19. Oh good I can sleep easy tonight then!
  20. Good post, agree with it, but not sure if you're saying what I said is wrong or not :-P
  21. Seeing as how the vast majority of economists say we get more than we put in, and the £170mil a week or whatever our net contribution is is pennies, the fact that 2/3 of immigration is from outside the eu, and companies will still have to meet EU regulations if they want to sell their goods there, err yea I would!
  22. Yea went for less than £2500 if I remember right, huge profit on this!! Can't find it now though, must be more than 3 months ago
  23. Lucky the buyer noticed! If you were new to zeds you may well not know what to look for
  24. Because the NHS has to pick up the bill if you crash! But yes I undertake all the time, get so fed up with selfish people hogging the middle lane
  25. In the interest of being entirely pedantic, that article says they have zero tolerance as standard, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are implemented with zero tolerance. Was interesting to read the old 10%+2 thing is a recommendation not a rule, wonder if that's true
