  1. Some ask me, some don't. Some want percentage increase, some just current figure. My answer is just a guess though, never had it on a rolling road! None have declined me so far though
  2. Just a vague thought, it's not your immobiliser is it? I know modern cars often cut the fuel to immobilise it, but I don't know if old aftermarket systems do the same thing. I would be surprised if it was this but thought I might as well throw it out there anyway...
  3. Have you tested the injectors? Give them an ohm test, can't remember what they should be off the top of my head but you'll find out quick enough on google! Just the first thing worth trying really, just to eliminate them if anything
  4. Ha if you say so :tt2: I just find it odd that regardless of the actual price, they're the cheapest for you but not the cheapest for me. Makes you wonder how they all stay in business, clearly at least one of them is doing their sums wrong!
  5. I'm currently looking at mine. I'm 26, fair few mods but nothing drastic, 4000 miles a year, value only £4000 on this car. 1 years NCB on this car and 7 on my daily. So far: Adrian flux: £570 renewal Graham Sykes: £1000 Sky: £500 - so I advise you give them a call! Lancaster: £670 Still waiting to hear from Classic line Might also try carol nash, not sure if they deal with modified's that much though Just goes to show how stupid the whole thing is, why is Graham Sykes so good for Mondo but a rip-off for me?!?
  6. A remote it looks like, god knows for what! Maybe the headunit that's been removed?
  7. I'll be putting on my pilot sport shod 3SDMs!
  8. Oh god yes I won't be able to jack it up quick enough! :hammer: Interested to find out what the suspension is as it looks lowered to me, auction sheet just said "possibly lowered"
  9. Couple of bits that will need looking at but I'm still very pleased with it  got worried for a second when I couldn't see the power steering thing under the bonnet, but then I remembered it's got the electric hicas so I suppose it's that!
  10. Gazwoz sent over some pictures of my new zed from the docks in Japan :cool3: Looks like delivery will be the end of August so still a long time to wait yet
  11. I still enjoy lego every now and again  got these two bad boys at home, love them, they're bloody huge! Pictures don't do them justice
  12. Yea that or plug, hard to know which is going to be better. If there's a decent amount of room behind the hole I'd go with a plug tap. 3-5mm at 1.25 pitch would be 4-6mm of space to get to the main part of the tap so putting it that way there is almost certainly enough room for a plug tap surely!?
  13. May want to reread my last post, just edited it!
  14. Ah think I just twigged what the taper means, thought it sounded odd. Think they're talking about the tap, not the bolt! "Q: What is the difference between taper, plug and bottom taps? A: Taper taps are often called "starting" taps because they have more chamfered threads. Chamfer is the angled portion at the front of the tap which helps it start threading. Taper taps have 7 to 10 threads of chamfer. Plug taps have 3-5 threads of chamfer, bottoming taps have 1-1-1/2 threads of chamfer" "Q: Why use a bottom tap? A: To tap the bottom of a blind hole." Means it doesn't bite in fully straight away like a straight tap would. In this case, I would guess you want a straight tap or even a bottom tap as it's the tip you'll be using as I previously said
  15. Here you go, could use a helicoil http://www.stanleyengineeredfastening.com/brands/heli-coil/screw-thread-inserts My old man repaired a stripped glow plug thread with it and that held up fine so I think in theory they're pretty strong. Again, whether they're suitable for a seat belt though is up to you to decide!
  16. No not quite, 1.25 or 1.5 is the thread pitch, the distance between the peaks of the thread. I think the smaller the pitch the more torque it will take so probably don't want to go up a pitch size. I meant go up a bolt size, so from 12mm to 14mm for instance. You would have to drill out the existing thread/hole to the right size (not sure if that would be 14mm, may have to go smaller) so you get rid of the old thread, then you can tap the new hole fresh. This would obviously require a new bolt! Not sure if that's a goer now really when I think about it. Taps tend to be an inch or two long and you need to turn them in right to the bottom, normally. Not sure there's enough room behind the hole for that? If you've only damaged the beginning though, you may get away with just redoing that bit I suppose. Maybe only getting the tip of the tap in will be enough. Whether either of these options is safe on a seatbelt mount is up to you! Personally, I'd not be too worried about doing either one but it's your neck on the line :clover: There is a third option though I suppose...
  17. Worth investing in one of these imo, quite handy and only cheap http://www.axminster.co.uk/metric-imperial-thread-pitch-gauge-900472?gclid=Cj0KEQjw4827BRDJvpbVuKvx-rIBEiQA2_CzsFuITpX1-dI1Oeb9_lAPLeouk67kg9ZxLDn2hBF9I2IaAho58P8HAQ How are you repairing it? If you've stripped the thread, what use is the standard size tap? Surely you need to go a size up?
  18. I've found with a lot of things it's cheaper to buy from America, even with the postage and possible charges
  19. Looks like a nice car, but who in their right mind would pay that much without being able to test drive it first :confused1: https://www.gumtree.com/p/nissan/convertible-nissan-300zx-very-low-mileage-sports-car/1174780445
  20. True, that's a separate issue though. It's things like measured city pollution limits I'm talking about. Besides, now that we know diesel's are quite bad, who do you think will be the ones to clamp down on them? The UK government doesn't care pollution levels are several times above safe limits, they don't give a damn
  21. You haven't helped them whatsoever, they wanted to come here and get a job, you've stopped them doing that! EU never did anything good? Just one example, I look forward to choking to death on NOx fumes, the UK government has done little to bring pollution levels down, it was the EU doing that for us. You think the Tories give a damn about such petty things like public health?
  22. Just googled this and found it interesting, especially the comparison to the prime minister and cabinet. Didn't really know how it worked before now blogs.lse.ac.uk/europpblog/2016/06/21/is-the-eu-really-run-by-unelected-bureaucrats/
  23. Yea it has been a bit nuts, can't say I've exactly helped the situation myself... Fwiw I always thought that in the long run economically this might be quite good for us. Europe was/is in decline and we need to align ourselves with the growing countries
  24. I'm just wondering what the reasons behind it were, don't think there's anything wrong with that. Just trying to make sense of it because I didn't expect it. I'm just regurgitating what I'm reading on the news anyway really. Also I'm sitting by myself at work today so am forced to think out loud to this forum rather than anyone sitting near me :-P
