  1. Regarding offsets, I'm running +20 on 8.5" (245/40/18) at the front and +35 on 9.5" (275/35/18) at the rear, you can push them out a lot more than some people are recommending in this thread! Depends how low you are of course, and I did have to move the coolant bottle, but still. And my rears could go to +30 happily. I wouldn't want to run narrower tyres on those sizes though, not much protection from kerbing as it is. Regarding those original wheels you were looking at, you can get 9.5s in 112x5 so you could use wobble bolts. Lots of discussions go on about wobble bolts, but you can get TUV approved ones so they obviously can't be dangerous!
  2. Have you used a multimeter to check if there's a voltage?
  3. What size spacers will I need for this?
  4. You can get a LOT of force on with those things if you get it right, but it will chew the thing up. Just don't put it back in!
  5. Is it? The centre looks like a different colour, but fair enough
  6. Not sure about this exact nut but if they're that bad just use a nut cracker thing. It'll crack the main body and then spin off easily without damaging the thread. Much easier than stilsons etc. I didn't know about them for years but they're really good, especially for things like ball joints that you can't get to stop spinning around
  7. Mine came without any of the strap stuff, I bought a universal one from halfords that did the job
  8. I suspect that by the time you give them the legally necessary "training" (h&s etc) and they got the hang of what they were doing it wouldn't be worth it and would have cost too much. Plus all the admin behind it and stuff. I like these sorts of ideas in theory but I just wonder whether they're realistic, otherwise why aren't we doing them now?
  9. But they'd just be taking someone else's job to do that and then there'd be even more claimants!
  10. I don't see any reasons that suggest leaving the EU will make our country great again! It's not going to rebalance our economy to be more manufacturing based, and it's surely not going to increase our political clout on the world stage, quite the opposite! I also want this country to be great, so I won't be voting for us to take a backward step and shy away from globalisation. Besides, we're doing bloody well considering how small we are.
  11. You don't have a version of 7 or 8 you can upgrade from?
  12. Beeb had an article today that said some other nations that have access to to trade bloc have to sign up to the freedom of movement treaty so if we ended up having to do that then that does go against one of the main arguments of leaving
  13. I don't think so, they're called Euro 1, Euro 2 etc, we're currently on Euro 6 I believe. I could be wrong, but I just chose emissions as an example
  14. The problem I have with the debate is there has been lots of talk about how much it costs us, but I haven't seen anything about how much is saves us. Take emissions just as an example, if we left the EU are we going to have to do the research and come up with the legislation ourselves? How much would that cost? Or would we just sign up to that particular agreement, and how much would THAT cost? That is just one issue, but there must be hundreds of similar cases that all add up to be significant. I am just curious as to costs involved with these, and I don't think the public (including myself!) have any idea about this side of things and how deeply ingrained the EU is in our society. It's all just headline figures and the courts etc, as we have demonstrated!
  15. Well that's the point isn't it - they don't value those rights and want to get rid of them and impose their own version of the law. So you want us to fight fire with fire and abandon those rights, which they are trying to abolish, in order to get rid of them? Doesn't make sense does it, we would be becoming like them in order to defeat them because we don't like them and what they stand for. And that way madness lies. But anyway, this is fairly off topic
  16. So you're complaining that we got stopped for doing something because it would infringe upon someones human rights? So you'd rather we threw all our values away and became just like the terrorists? I don't fancy becoming like the USA, who keep people in solitary confinement for 40 years and no one can question it, any time soon. Besides, this issue pales in comparison to the economic arguments IMO.
  17. Good you got her back! You've probably made a profit haven't you?
  18. IMO these are waaay nicer than the last set, love them, they look great
  19. Well I'm pretty confused by it myself tbh. Its on tein springs so its not that low, can't remember exactly but its higher than a lot of other peoples (that may actually be the problem I suppose). 245/40/18 tyre on a 8.5" wheel with a +20 offset so pretty normal there. Alignment has the castor set closer to the front of the wheel arch than stock (7° vs 9° I think), but it has to be or it hits the rear of the arch. They're centered as it is. Previous owner said it had upgraded smic's, don't know if that's true or what is fitted but I can only think the tank was moved slightly to accommodate them.
  20. Really? Hmm well this is confusing then. He did say I might be able to get enough room if I removed the plastic tray so I could move the battery over enough, but his looked pretty tight as it is. Will see if I might be able to gain enough room, but then I'm not sure what that would do to getting the battery in and out
  21. I asked AMS what size battery it would fit next to and they said OEM. So I asked them what size the OEM battery is and they had no idea! They put me in touch with a customer of theirs and he said you need smaller than OEM, his battery is 216mm wide and a snug fit so my 260mm battery doesn't stand a chance.
  22. They've come back with $28 for shipping so I might go with it actually as it should be a neat solution, though still not sure if it will fit next to my Bosch 068. Anyone know if that is the stock size or smaller? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks, that's another one to order from America though I had considered digging out the heat gun and just moulding the old one a bit, its not like you can see it or anything, just not sure I could bring myself to do that much of a bodge!
