Can you check my wheel measurements please?
I think it's time for new wheels, just wanted to check my measurements before I get them. Possibly a bit of an unusual choice for a zed, but lkperformance list 18" 3SDM 0.05s in 114.3 so I might give them a shot, I love their retro look and think they'll look awesome, remind me of Modenas which I like on zeds Offsets are +42 for 8.5" and +40 for 9.5" so I believe the conventional wisdom is I'll want 20mm spacers for the front and 5mm for the rear with those to give me +22 front and +35 rear? Or would I need to roll my arches for that? I'm running on Tein lowering springs which I think are a 35mm drop at the front and 21mm at the back. I'd love to run 9.5" all round as I think they look better but I just don't think they'll fit with a tyre wide enough to give them a decent amount of protection  I'm assuming I should be looking at 245/35 for the front and 265/35 for the rear? Will that protect the rims enough? I suppose 255s might fit the front, but for the rears 275s don't appear to exist and 285 must be too much... Cheers :thumbup1:

What discs/pads?
Couldn't find anything wrong with the tension rods but did find a significant amount of play in the right rear wheel bearing so will do that before anything else, though whether it's enough to cause the fairly severe vibration I've got under braking I'm not sure...

What discs/pads?
Ah good shout, I'll check them before I buy anything, thanks

What discs/pads?
My zeds got a really horrible vibration on braking so time for new discs I think. Can't see anything obviously wrong with any of them so I was just gonna get fronts first and then rears if I need them. I've got the 350 track pack setup on the front, but what discs/pads should I get? EBC? Brembo? Or should I just get OEM from Nissan? Only for street use, I won't be taking it on track. Thanks!

Rear light panel
After having recently had my rear panel done by Andy, I've managed to crack the clear plastic cover :blushing: That will teach me to be lazy and not remove the panel when messing about with the rear lights... So I'm after another panel with the cover in good condition so I can have it swapped over, anyone got a spare one?

Japanese Imports....Sat/Nav
Some of these stereos are £1000 though so depends what it is as to whether it's worth it. I got my old one second hand for £260 and considered that a bargain, and its showing it's age, so if you want a decent one these things aren't cheap!

Your best bet is to have a look around avic411.com I would think

Aftermarket rear lights and stereo fascia
Pair of aftermarket crystal rear lights. Have carbon fibre style vinyl wrap on the top, it may come off fine but I don't know whats underneath. £60 posted. Stereo fascia, also has carbon fibre style wrap on the strip above the opening and some stickers, £25 posted. Pick up is possible from Bath Monday to Thursday evenings or from Wokingham, Berkshire any day of the week and you can knock a tenner off the lights and a fiver off the fascia.

Japanese Imports....Sat/Nav
This may not be that useful but as I understand it it's pretty easy to get these sorts of units to boot to their OS where you can then install whatever you want. I have an old Pioneer F30BT that just runs Windows CE under the hood, so I can't see why it couldn't be done by someone with a bit of know-how to just swap in the relevant files it needs or reinstall a different version of the software.

New clutch, noisy pedal
Sweet, cheers, will give it a go

New clutch, noisy pedal
Ah very interesting, thanks for that! Is it possible to change the boot with the gearbox still in place? Can't exactly remember how it fits in right now

New clutch, noisy pedal
No it's only with the engine on. It's only an xtd kit, so no problem with the carrier as far as I know. It was noisy again this morning and then cleared up again, so it seems like it's only a problem when cold. I'm wondering whether it's just a bit of a noisy gearbox? I used MT-90 oil, think I remember reading before that can make them a bit noisier? It only makes the noise when in gear so that's making me think it's the gearbox. Bit whiney when you put it in gear then makes a noise when you move the clutch pedal. Not sure if it's only in first, didn't think to check before it warmed up. But I've driven it a good 120 miles or so and seems fine really... It did still make a bit of noise when reversing when warm though. I also have a short rattle when accelerating through roughly 1700-2000 revs in any gear, but I would think that's an exhaust or something rather than the clutch/gearbox?

New clutch, noisy pedal
Ha God I hope not, I'm sure I haven't though. I took it for a longer drive and it was fine so just took it 50 miles into London and it's still fine, not noisy at all so hopefully it was nothing to worry about! Will see what it's like tomorrow after it's been sat overnight. Thanks for the replies

New clutch, noisy pedal
I don't think it could be the propshaft as it does it stationary, but may be the input shaft I suppose. Will take it for a longer run and see what happens

New clutch, noisy pedal
Yea I did, hence I'm stumped

New clutch, noisy pedal
Finally finished replacing my clutch last night after no end of problems, but when I took it for a short drive this morning it's making a weird noise when you work the clutch, kind of like a grinding. Depressed it's fine, but still makes a bit of a noise when pressed. Kind of sounds like the release bearing but I put a new one in so don't really see how it could be that. Pretty gutted after it's taken me far longer than it should have done, any ideas what it is? Should I not worry about it for now and see if it clears with a few more miles on it?

Flywheel refusing to come off
I did wonder about heating them with a torch but wasn't sure it was a good idea on the end of the crank. I did try and get the second out with the gun again after grinding off the first, they were right next to each other so thought it might have got hot enough, but no.
-
Flywheel refusing to come off
I ended up grinding the heads off to get the flywheel off, then the studs came out easily with no pressure on them. Nicked the flywheel more than I would have liked but having looked at it now it's off the car I think it needs replacing anyway so it doesn't matter, there's heat marks on the back of it!

Flywheel refusing to come off
My flywheel bolts are refusing to come out, well 2 of them anyway. My cheap 230lb/ft impact gun wouldn't do it, so I tried by hand, got over 200nm on them but nothing. I couldn't get anymore on it without the socket slipping so don't want to keep trying that. So I bought a 700lb/ft impact gun aaaand nothing, won't do it. I've only got a small compressor so probably not getting the max out the gun but still, this is ridiculous! The gun says 90psi max and my compressor does 100 so it shouldn't be too bad. I've tried tightening them with the gun first, nothing, tried putting all the other bolts back in really tight, nothing. I'm completely out of ideas and it's doing my nut in! I don't really know what to try next? And all this while the heads are getting more and more chewed up. I've got an oxy-acetelene welder but figured I shouldn't heat this up. Anyone got any bright ideas? I'm at the end of my tether!

Illuminated Reverse Panel with fitted Fog and Brake Lights.
Looks great, looking forward to getting it back! :thumbup1: Looks considerably shinier than when I sent it :blushing: Can't remember if I've asked you this, do you have any bulbs you would recommend I use elsewhere to match this? Or will any led ones look good? I've not used any before so don't really know anything about them.

Double din fascia
I didn't have any OEM brackets to speak of, must have been removed when the last headunit was put in, that's why I was confused with it as I wasn't expecting anything like that. And yes now I'm not using the cage I have sanded it down a touch too much, but it's not too bad, it would have needed a little bit anyway as the unit by itself didn't fit either. I don't think the quality is too bad though, kind of what I expected really!
-
Double din fascia
Aahhh got it now! My problem was not looking at the car, I was trying to fit it too the fascia, not the car. I didn't think about it as with the single unit I took out the cage was attached to the fascia, not the car and the holes these brackets use weren't bring used so I didn't think about them. Cheers!!

Double din fascia
So I got a double din fascia from interior innovations. First off I'm not particularly impressed that my head unit doesn't actually fit, it's too big. Over £100 and I'm still having to file down the sides, and I'll have to bodge the units surrounding plastic finisher thing to get it to fit even when I do get it in. Anyway, I also got sent these two (rusty, again not impressed though it doesn't really matter) metal plates, but what the hell are they even for?! I can't seem to find a single way they fit the fascia that makes sense. Any words of wisdom our there? But peeved with it all to be honest.

Anyone know anything about this visual power thing?
Just removed this thing from my car as I didn't want it, though seems like it might be quite a neat little bit of kit but I never played around with it. Anyone know anything about it? I'd sell it on to someone but don't even know where to start with it! Do have a manual somewhere but it's all in Japanese...
