Gaz 300 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Been for sale for a while now and not sure if it was posted here before but this is a rare UK 300zx with low miles and ultra rare colour. (yes they did have a yellow UK 300zx) Colour looks odd in pictures so I hope its not a respray. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-NISSAN-300-ZX-3-0-TARGA-TURBO-2D-AUTO-280-BHP-/272254129787?hash=item3f639c567b:g:dKkAAOSwBPNXRctw Quote

Diff colour in there???? Quote
mick1 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I think it is just a crap camera or crap light. The Pic of the Targa's looks like the right shade of yellow. Quote
Funkysi Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 There's no way that's the original colour. Pearl yellow is completely different and it was only available in 1990 on UK cars, this is a 1992. Quote

Yes, the UK colour code is the same as the JDM one. There's absolutely no way these two are the same even with the worst camera in the world. It wouldn't even have been a repainted yellow car. It looks like Ford's 'citrine yellow' that you could get the Mondeo painted in in the mid-90s. Quote
dutchgold92 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 No lighting could change the colour like that! Also, all of the pinstripe is missing. Quote
Funkysi Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 It's an 'orrible yellow actually. Makes the car looks really cheap. The original pearl yellow is a stunning colour IMO. Quote
craig Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 the UK yellow was not the same as the JDM pearl yellow, as a guy called Jez had one. but i am sure it was also not that the luminous colour in the pic either. Quote
Alic Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Definitely looks like a respray. Look at the thrid brake light, it's completely painted over. Quote
Funkysi Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 the UK yellow was not the same as the JDM pearl yellow, as a guy called Jez had one. You sure about that? I'm 90% sure the paint codes are the same. - - - Updated - - - Look at the thrid brake light, it's completely painted over. No it isn't. UK cars came with body-colour blanks. Quote

Funkysi Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Cost saving. It wasn't a legal requirement on European vehicles to have a 3rd brake light. Quote
Funkysi Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 ...according to Nissan FAST, the only pearl yellow available was EH7. Quote
Gaz 300 Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Looks like a respray then but still think the camera has distorted the colour slightly. Worth a look if anybody is wanting a good Z. Quote
BedZee Man Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 This car is for sale just a minute away from where I live, I posted a couple of pics on a previous thread about it. I lifted the bonnet and its a re-spray. Its a nice car but not original. The car pitch have had about 3-4 zeds in the last 6-8 months for sale, all of them went for around 6-7K here's the two photos I posted previously. if anyone wants further details I would be happy to help, the guys who are selling it know me well! Gaz 300 Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Is there much of a difference between the two colours when you lift the bonnet Chris? Quote
BedZee Man Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 " Is there much of a difference between the two colours when you lift the bonnet Chris? " Yep, a big difference, if I remember right it was silver/grey in the bay. I took a targa off for a better look and the spray was done OK but it was clear its a respray. Its also a very, very bright colour, almost Luminous yellow !! Quote

When the car was repainted, by law you should notify the DVLA and have that changed on the V5. This information is lifted straight from that. Quote
