Very pleased with it! Only odd thing is the chassis plate is missing....slightly concerning. Thought it looks like it's been gone for a while. I assume it had to go through various checks in Japan though so.....

Any thoughts?

The chassis plate has no legal standing. The vin number is stamped on the bulkhead. That identifies the car and you will need that number on your first MOT beore you get the car UK registered.

Yes and you can still verify the details that would be on the plate using just the VIN.

Begs the question as to why the VIN plate was removed. As it would appear that silver sticker was applied after

the VIN plate was removed what does it say?

I think it's just a service sticker. But yea I can't really think why

Long gone. Something dodgy has obviously happened at some point. Just my luck, of all the cars that come over.

Have sent gazwoz a message to try and find out whats going on

There must be other locations for the VIN? Somewhere on the engine block maybe?

Check the driver's door shut for any stickers. Production year should be on the seatbelt labels and floor mats, if original.

Is this a fresh import?

Is it on the "Nova system" ?

What vin number is on the paperwork??(dont post it on the forum)

I have never seen it anywhere else on the shell.... and I have stripped/broken around 8/10 Z32s.

The engine number is on the block. Thats not the vin number

Yeah just an engine serial on the block, which is at the rear drivers side, bloody hard to see and doesn't really tell you anything useful. The Chassis number will start GCZ32 as its a lwb. Bit worrying this really. I really hope you manage to sort it out.

Thanks guys. Yes literally just came in, delivered straight from the docks Friday. So yea gutting doesn't really begin to cover it. I can't exactly spare the £6k this has cost me. Yes got a number on the export certificate, god knows where that has come from.

What's the Nova system?

An update on this, gazwoz has been very timely in trying to get some information on this. Seems it was issued a number by the Japanese government, and it is engraved on the strut in the engine bay. It's a short number with a Japanese character "fuku" either end. Which explains how it was exported. Wondering whether anyone has seen anything like this before?

Can anyone else confirm that the chassis number is not stamped anywhere else?
