JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
Yea but by the time you pay shipping and taxes it's gonna be a lot more isn't it, I would guess up around £2250. Before the pound crashed might have got it for more like £1600 at a guess

Tapatalk always says I have at least 9 updates
This may be a Tapatalk issue rather than a forum issue, I don't know how they interface together. But someone might have an idea anyway! When I get a Tapatalk notification on my Note 4 it always says I have at least 9 updates. If I actually have 2 updates, then it will say I have 10, if 3 it says 11 etc. Hardly life changing but it is annoying! When I go into the app it doesn't say I've got anything unread, but next update, even if it's only one post, it will say I have 9 updates. Any ideas?

Fog light install
I ran it through the usual place through the grommet in the sill, can't see it unless you've got the arch liners off so I can't say it bothers me! Will have to put wires through there if I put any audio stuff in anyway

side skirts
I think generic ones yea, but are these not TwinZ? I adore them either way!
-
Fog light install
I've wired it into the front fog relay on both the zeds I've had, never had an issue at MOT time. Can get the wire into the wing nicely from the fusebox

Nice, where from?

Japspeed no longer doing exhausts?
Well that sucks. CZP do some cheap alternatives, might even be alright with postage. I've had a box from them that was about the same size that was about $80 postage I think (pre-Brexit), though this will be heavier. No idea what the quality is like though, and whether they're the same size? https://conceptzperformance.com/dna-300zx-downpipe-test-pipe-set-60mm-90-96-z32-tp-117_p_13141.php https://conceptzperformance.com/megan-racing-mr-ssdp-n300-v2-version-2-v2-test-pipes-and-4-bolt-downpipes-90-96-300zx-tt-z32_p_11801.php

Can't see any elbows or test pipes on their website anymore. Have they stopped then? What alternatives do we have in the UK?

Thready McThreadface
Finally got a chance to get some work done last weekend, forgot to post though! Got all the brakes finished, very pleased with them Got the passengers recaro fitted And swapped the stereo over from my old zed Though I'm currently trying something out stereo wise in my Saab, if it works as well as I hope I'll replicate it in the zed. Does anyone know what these are? One either side stuck on the inside of the front windscreen, aerials of some kind I guess, got two 3.5mm plugs for either side. DAB or phone signal maybe? Now to decide what to do with my manual swap. Looks like jimmer will be doing it for me along with cambelt at the same time, and I'll take the manual kit from my old zed. But the box isn't great, synchros are weak and a bearing might be a bit noisy. Currently looking at options for rebuilding, but might have to pick up another I guess.

What did you do to your zed today?
I'd be talking to whoever did the turbo change...

Auto dim rear view mirror
Never would have believed how good auto dim rear view mirrors are before I had one, I do miss it in the zed. Does the saab one clear when in reverse? Did in my old 406, I do have a 95 but haven't noticed... maybe that means it's working

Car fires are not nice !
A fireman told my old man years ago that cars don't explode in real life, only in films. My dad asked if they should be standing further away from his burning car  not sure how much I believe it mind!

Oem rear spoiler
Try running the studs through a die? Might clean them up enough

What did you do to your zed today?
The fit is good, but like I said might just wanna check the seat bar is useable with recaros. But should gain you a lot of headroom!
-
What did you do to your zed today?
Are they bride rails? I've just fitted one myself, frame was so low I couldn't use the slide handle as it was touching the seat. Got some spacers made up to match the height of the genuine recaro rail

New problem....LOL
I wouldn't have thought of a sticky cable, I'm used to drive by wire :smartass:

Yellow rubberised underseal under paint wheel arches
Yes waxoyl is a cavity wax, but dinitrol do that as well, dinitrol is a brand not a product. Professional dinitrol application was not that much more than the waxoyl alternative I don't think, but maybe buying off the shelf is different
-
Yellow rubberised underseal under paint wheel arches
Yea sort of thought that myself as I was typing it! The guy that did mine didn't think waxoyl was as good. I've read that it just doesn't last as long and doesn't like heat, will drip down when hot, and not as hard wearing. Plus no active properties I don't think? I think the general feeling is it's just outdated now and it's only old men that have been using it for years that advocate it nowadays.
-
Yellow rubberised underseal under paint wheel arches
From everything I've read regular waxoyl is a complete waste of space and dinitrol is much better. That's what I've got and the guys that did it said the active anti rust coat will last 5 years and the main physical coat will still be going strong after 10 years. They said best re-done every 10 years, less is unnecessary. I must say though I was expecting mine to dry hard, but it's been about 2 months now and it's still slightly soft. And slippy, got to be careful when jacking! Bit disappointed on that front as a block of wood on the chassis rail takes a lot of the underseal off with it but I guess that can't be helped. If it wasn't slightly soft it wouldn't be self healing(ish).

Which series is best?
I haven't been able to find a series 3 boost gauge, not that I've been looking for months and months mind
