  1. Somebody has wired the halos to come on with the low beam or headlights. The halos should of been wired to the side light circuit which for instance is one of the 3 wires that supply the front j spec fogs, one is ground and the other positive is the bright fog light itself. Perhaps not knowing what they were doing they've completely severed the headlight wire or robbed it completely just for the halos.
  2. Switching to high beam or 'flash' will not turn the side lights off, it will however turn off the low beam, on release of high beam the low beam will return. Unless someone as tried to stop this happening by grounding, are there any aftermarket wires about ? Tail lights come on when side lights are on, ie position 1 on the pod dial switch, side lights and the tail lights will also come on when the front fog switch is pressed.
  3. Your headlight bulbs have both 'gone' perhaps ? Turning the switch to headlights at the pod hence position 2 will turn the side lights on as well but when you mean side lights are on, are you referring to the dim light in the fog housing r/h side ?
  4. That dimness is a J spec side light, there are 501 bulb holders in there alongside the much brighter H3 fog light, it's very likely therefore that the left side one has a blown bulb or is not connected properly.
  5. if I understand correctly he doesn't desire dual filament bulbs, just the 21w part, not the weedy 5w !! Pm me your address Lee and i'll get the 2 x single filament bulb holders away plus some bulbs if I have them, have I to assume you want amber coated ones ?
  6. I have two per side, one is the signal and the other is the kerb light which I like having. My side lights are currently halos in the headlights btw. Iiuc your side lights are the 501 bulb holders ? You want me to send you 2 holders with tails foc ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You need 2 x 382 bulb holders, single filament, straight pins that you can use a 21w bulb ? Is that 2 per side ?
  8. Certainly some crazy stuff going on and it does look like to me you'll need to work your way through yourself, seems specific to you this fault. I will however state, you do have a control box at the rear lights, investigate this would be my advice and/or swap out for a known working one....you never know !!
  9. Just seen this Lee and thought of you, it should be the bulb holders notches that govern if you've the correct ones or not, you can of course amend these slightly to fit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-1996-Nissan-300zx-b1-front-marker-light-wiring-harness/292680843250?hash=item4425233ff2:g:YFoAAOSwd~RZXOsx
  10. I've said this many times before, i am being let down with my re spray guy but my car is coming to no harm in my garage, anyway it gives me time, loads of time actually to get together brand new parts or great condition 2nd hand parts and the glass below falls very well in the latter category. My original glass was quite badly scratched and my attempts to polish them was not to my satisfaction - i had too much distortion. I did have some bronze glass fitted for a while but this of course did not match all the rest on my series 4 late 1994 . So collected on Thursday from Slick Pete's home, here we have some 1996 SWB green tint glass, removed from Bob's car apparently - I am incredibly happy finding this perfectly matching part and in fabulous condition, thanks Pete :thumbup1:.
  11. The green/red wire Si is the lights on feed is it not, it's purpose is to dim the display when you turn your lights on.
  12. It started a bit earlier than that Ali, pretty much at my late 1994 but they can be fitted very easily, I have done it but you'll need one of course from a donor cluster which aren't easy to obtain but they do exist :detective:.
  13. Didn't realize I had these but as I have a set fitted and another spare then i'll move them on. I have even found the oem looms, the beauty of these apart from looking good they have the 2 full size 21w bulb chambers. They aren't perfect, difficult to show on pictures with some lens imperfections but more than acceptable as you can clearly see. Only yesterday on USA ebay there was a pair of these for well in excess of £100, in 2nd hand condition so they may not of been perfect either. Never been opened up or messed with, as you see the amber lens is fitted, these are commonly pulled out with some long nose pliers but that's up to the buyer. Delivery included.
  14. I also backed Brooks Koepka to win the US Open and he duly obliged, so that was another £300 in my pocket. So............with my 100% record in golf majors in 2018, I have gone for Rickie Fowler in our Open .
  15. It's not burning a hole but look me up if and when . https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?188817-75-000-Japanese-Yen
  16. Yes i do, the fog switch graphic and the one just arrived does not have a fog 'on' indicator led, so i've flipped the switch from one unit to the other and hey presto a very blurry image but you get the idea...
  17. Oh, that'll explain the cold altitude temp then .
  18. Is that when the engine gave up at 200 and 10,000 revs !!!
  19. Just want to say thank you to Luke, i thought my pod light switch was in good nick but this 'new' one he has sent me trumps it !! Great to deal with, in fact payment was made days after it was posted, so a trusting guy and for that i thank you. So here's a pic of mine fitted and the MINT one from Luke which for now is stored away in a bubble envelope until after my respray :thumbup1:.
  20. Hi Luke, You sold the interior centre boot trim to someone else, presume you have posted this out but if it's available again, i'm interested. Just to clarify, i am after the cruise light switch pod and yes the fan shroud, hoping for its 2 parts but you've told me there's just one and that'll be fine. Hear from you soon. I pm'd my address btw a few days ago.
  21. I think their appeal as wained certainly in the last few years, i will presume you are talking about the green one which is not the best colour imo. Best with a reverse panel is to get the facelift one, the red is pleasing on the eye and goes perfectly with the 99 tails. I have at least 3 green ones, only one of which illuminates, the plan was to rip out the green el sheets or insides and to then mimic the 99 and for it also to light up red but you cannot beat the factory chromed chambers, so here lies the problem with the green 89 ones but my opinion of course. Keep it on the shelf would be my advice.
  22. It's certainly pricey !!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fairlady-Z-300ZX-Z32-Key-Blank-Titanium-Nissan-Genuine-Parts-Japan-Import-F-S/283022696785?hash=item41e577a151:g:ZwgAAOSwkE9bLwnx
  23. Yes, there's quite a few of these breaking threads popping up, here's another i've noticed....... https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?189353-Losing-the-love-with-the-Z&p=1977052#post1977052
  24. I expect so, i use some bubblegum stuff and the adjustable Karcher attachment works a treat, i rub it with a noodle cloth then rinse. Please God no..........DO NOT encourage him !!
