Back door trading
I don't for one minute think that Simon is advertising his wares, sure his order book is plenty full enough for 2018. Also, he was a trader when the GB was initiated. As for me, i always made it clear that i never wished to be a trader, is mine different because it was just a hobby to me ? It hardly kept my head above water and i'll just correct you Simon on how you've worded your post and to be fair to the committee, there was several times when subscription was discussed and i was always honest with my replies with regard position, wishes and thoughts.

Possible starter issue
Batteries can just 'go' and it sounds like yours is one of them, so i'm another saying you need a new one.

New owner looking for some recommendations
I did this, i wanted a 40 profile front and rear when strictly speaking it's 40 rear and 45 front for a 17 inch wheel. I don't recall what it was like before or of course from the factory but when i checked against GPS about 2 years ago it read higher with the 'wrong' tyres, perhaps 3mph but could of been 5, 6mph up at about 100mph iirc. To compensate i moved the needle down a notch on the spindle, it's possible if you're that way inclined and so it moves off later if you get me, giving me back the 3, 5mph, etc. The needle does shake about as we all know, so a few mph is not important but you need to know if it's incorrect and by how many. I have had brand new 'virgin' clocks though on other vehicles and in my experience they read a little high anyway.

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
I have never got the airbag and its cluster light working correctly in my car but i have made progress in recent weeks. Even though the position sensor is interchangeable on both the pictured rings, its the white plug bottom left corner fyi, these clearly are different, notice the two lugs which locate on the steering wheel and the ribbons on the top one which carry horn (i had to repair hence the grey wires) and airbag wires, different set up on the lower one but still 4 wires coming through to the steering wheel. Furthermore the multi plugs that connect under the steering column are also different, both though are 4 wires again. The lower slip ring you see pictured is a perfect replacement i recently bought and one identical was on the car when i bought it, the previous owner had cut off its two lugs flush and also the four wire connector, coming out at 3 o clock had been severed in order to get an aftermarket steering wheel to fit/work, his only remit was to make the horn work. I haven't totally got to the bottom off this yet because i now need the exact steering wheel which marries with the 6 and 9 clock position lugs and its airbag - it seems there are some different SRS set ups, the search continues....... I don't want to go on, someone though might shed some light but this below is the plug that needs connecting to the correct airbag, steering wheel set up, the two wires that are bridged i think are the airbag but why are they bridged ? Should i have a different connector plug ? From the factory did a model use this set up, squib, etc, but without an airbag wheel on a later model ? The darker brown with silver wire goes nowhere and the final one is a ground connector for the horn which works perfectly. I have put a srs testing tool for the two 'bridged' wires and for added good measure i have tried different resistors but my cluster airbag light does not go off - indicating a fault.

[first post virginity] ECU issues? Anybody have one for sale?
I upgraded the engine to 600cc, so some of the unknown origin chips i tried would not of been suitable, always the chip with me, my socketed ECU has always been spot on.

[first post virginity] ECU issues? Anybody have one for sale?
You do need a different ECU and it seems you have been offered one. Many years ago, i was given a handful of 'copied' chips, tried them, most were duff and caused issues like you explain, fan going bonkers, check light on, roughness, etc, but one i popped in actually worked very well. So based on my experience you're certainly now seem to be barking up the right tree.

End of the "Pit Girls"
Just watching Premier League darts and the walk out flimsy top girls have gone, as they said before F1 said anything, but we do still have 4 pom pom girls on stage, of course tight little shorts and crop tops. Wonder if we'll see pit girls then - only in another guise, which, call me a cynic the recent 'no girls' then is just a topical publicity stunt cum hat off to the pc folk.

End of the "Pit Girls"
Very apt indeed, it will certainly be a gloomier place. No doubt they were well paid and i have no problem in that. Women throughout time have exploited their 'assets' and i for one appreciate them greatly, they're damn fine to look at, and whisper it - flirting does them parts in films !!

Heating problem?
Think this is the root of your problem Mr. G. G-B, you're getting hot flushes due to the amount you're spending :w00t:.

Not for the exact ones no, you pay your money and take a chance with any seller, the price has dropped over the years. I've had no real problem with these 'cheap' kits over the years, they're at a price where you can buy the odd spare or two as well for the shelf just in case.

H3c is the correct oe bulb, for HID purposes you need H3 although you can get an H3c HID bulb and here is a seller with some, you'll notice they're more money and harder to come by if you search more. I've had both type bulbs fitted and i've not noticed a difference.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Slim-HID-XENON-KIT-H1-H3-H3c-H7-H7c-H7R-H11-9005-9006-HEADLIGHT-BULB/281895482681?hash=item41a247b539:g:flcAAOxy9eVRLOOq

Please help with my clock problem.
What an entertaining thread, keep it up !! I'd give the pcb a damn good drenching with some contact spray - hell what have you to lose . Connecting little batteries are a waste of time, 12v mains is the way to go - loads of products run off 12v, go and chop up some of your christmas decorations/lights and use their supply.

What did you do to your zed today?
Yes that's a good set, even though my initial Halfords link does not have a T55, I have just looked and i do have a tamper proof one with a 1/2" drive adaptor. If i also remember correctly i have used my T55 bit on a Ford Fiesta many years back, so one is required in your arsenal.

What did you do to your zed today?
They need to be the non tamper type guys for the SRS steering wheel, hence hollow ends .
