  1. i may not even try graham and just send all 3 off to you. i was trying to pull off rather than twisting. if you think you can do it just go ahead and do them. what will we lose if you cannot, just a bit of postage. maybe, will wait though til the new year, i will see.
  2. had a little play with the one i have yet to fit and it looks like they are sealed. i have loosened off the nuts and the spade things and cannot get any movement at all, thought it may just slide off. i dont of course want to break as they are not cheap!!! anyway i have took a piccy. tell me what you think. :santa:
  3. graham, i expect you can make my 3 x stack 52mm gauges nice and blue? they are clear backlit presently. will of course send them to you. how much? andy.
  4. the 3 pronged piece of copper was just either floating loose or was the wrong way when i opened the pod up, it was not where it should of been. put it back in its housing if you like and hey presto the speed control is now working perfectly again. thanks people for all the help.
  5. talking about my stack pillar guage here:- just looked at a conversion chart and last night it was, when fully warm, just short of 100 degrees farhenheit, this is only 38 celsius. a few weeks ago it was 125 degrees and this is 52 celsius. from what help i have had and what i have read this is way too low. and to clarify the rad is full with green shrek coloured coolant.
  6. thank you jeff, i have read both those links/write ups. it does seem my stat couls well be faulty and would make great sense to change and then to see what happens. you sell the stats then do you? andy.
  7. thank you for the responses. i will attend to that tomorrow graham, it does sound like that might be my problem. without looking, it also sounds like hinges and ribbons - very much like you find a lot in mobile phones. fingers crossed for tomorrow then, i will update thread as always to help others. thanks again.
  8. i have series 4 manual control for my central heating. just been out now the snow as fully cleared from everywhere and i drove for a good 30 mins, some motorway blasting as well as normal roads. i must of got it fully warm. my temp gauge on the dash clocks never got above about a 3rd up, i also have a stack after market temp gauge and this was almost on 100 degrees fahrenheit. consequently the heat in the cabin was not hot although it was aired to warm, i never turned the heat setting down it was up as far as it would go!!! i may need a new thermostat, i know that, as this will make me more toasty in the winter. a few weeks ago the dash clock reached about half way and the stack one got up to 125 degrees. is this normal in winter time when the outside temp is in low figures? :chris:
  9. i have a series 4 so its a manual control for the fan speed. it is playing up off late, i have off,1,2,3, and 4 speeds. it works at a 3 speed or 4, it is probably 4, and if i move it down to 2 or 1 nothing happens. i move it fast from side to side and it does go off when at off but will then come on again at full speed and i have not touched anything!! when it does decide to stay off, i move it from this off position past 1 and 2 and nothing happens, reach 3 and it all comes to life, bizarre. all the direction control works fine and as no bearing on my speed control problem. i do hear clicking from the dash passenger side, whats this and can i access whatever it is? :helpsmilie:
  10. I also have a go300 with at great expense map of europe and also usa and canada installed on the card, i have had them years. i was not too bothered but my wife bought me a slim wide screen 520 i think it was, she bought this model with the idea of putting my fully loaded card into it and i can then still have all the maps. but it cannot be done, the version of the maps is not recognised on the new tomtom, tomtom were so unhelpful and lacking in knowledge, they suggested i buy again, yep i am gonna spend £80.00 again!!!! the new 520 went back to argos for a full refund and i stick now with the go300. i update it with tomtom home on the pc every two weeks and dont really have a problem, i will continue to do this until i do. maps do not change all that much really, you can get by. my advice stick with your device like me.:tongue_smilie:
