Manual gearbox issue
I got it for Graham from CZP.its a sit down price well over 2k landed but i think that is cheap being honest for a new 5 speed box.

what ever happened to my old 1995 white TT manual written off in banbury
The engine was blown also.Poor Neil went to all the trouble of fitting it and it only had 50psi compression on cylinder 4.

JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
They arrived in Nismo packaging ? One way to tell the authenticity is use a magnifying glass on the spray plate,If the holes are neat and evenly placed apart they are Genuine,If not they are Re drills.I use CZP for loads of parts but i heard some things when it comes to Injectors from them that scared me.

Manual gearbox issue
Its a known fault which was solved on the later boxes with a double cone.If the oil does not cure it i would get a new box as a rebuild will be mental money. The revised parts included a fork and new gear which i doubt are available now anyway.

JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
What Injectors are those and where were they sourced ?
-
JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
They are not filings,That is material from an engine thats suffered some sort of massive failure,One of those parts looks like a piece of piston ring. Are those intercoolers from your first Build Lee ? Were they new, or second hand ones ?

Clutch mistery
You most probably have a failed master cylinder by the sounds of it.

The head bolts are re useable they are not like modern ones that need replacing.I always tap the tube out when the sumps off from underneath but you do not have that luxury.A pair of good quality Mole Grips will probably grip enough to wrestle it out.

Value
Its ALMOST CERTAINLY going to have an engine with the early heads on.I would stay well clear of that. The valves will be toast by now.My understanding was engines with a 5 prefix or Heads with R1/L1 on.And besides that,That barn find wants pushing back in ! He is trying to cash in on the "Barn find" culture on Ebay.If anybody fancies a massive laugh search it and strap yourself in ready !

You will find a drain plug on the block. It is located on the passenger side above the oil rail that feeds the turbo. It is between the AC pump and engine mount bracket. If you are pulling the heads just remove the engine it will be easier than in situ imho.

My first Zed, excited but need advice please.
Welcome to the club fella.I could not help but notice you are using the zed as a daily. If you value it get a beater for everyday use.The 300zx will literally dissolve when used in all weathers.

Who remembers...
And if it was a British car "Pray" it started  Always took a while getting use to another car and how much choke it needed,Too much and you had a wait on your hands after it flooded.Just what you wanted on a morning !

Time to tackle all the jobs I did not want to do
Get a rear main seal in there and a new sump rubber.I always do both now at the same time.Quite often the rubber strip is like plastic and shrinks and no amount of sealer will stop it.

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
I knew Tomei gaskets were considered superior to Cometic and now you have an in house MLS Gasket thats even better again.I take it these have been shown on the FB page so i can go take a look ?

Testing my patience...
So the fluid is Green James ? You are absoluetly sure its not condensation from the AC and perhaps the floor isnt level so it appears to be coming from the O/S rather than the N/S like it normally would ?

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
So at that point Vernier Pullies /Use a thicker gasket,Or as you stated, build up the head face and Mill them back into spec ?.Do you ever use Tomei HG,s Mitch in varying thickness sometimes to combat this issue also ?

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Out of curiousty Mitch ,As the heads and intake now sit lower at what point would you say the cam timing is altered adversley ? I am loving this thread and the work looks epic by the way.

300zx VR6 Turbo
Lol That car was an NA Auto and i used to look after it for a local lad who sold it. Bit of a wow conversion job they have done I must say. Am i allowed to say that these days on here? Somebody got all ruffled last time :whistling:

Anyone have a write up on oil pump change
For the amount of work involved if you tried to do it in situ it would be quicker to pull the engine being honest.Removing the sump alone is a task in itself and working on the floor it would be horrific.
