  1. Usually poor flow through the heater matrix. Is it original Gray ? if its scaled up this will be the result
  2. If my thread was hi jacked by a set of sexy zed wheels i would not need an apology
  3. Its a minefield Andrew i know but a 1990 car would never have had HID lamps fitted.Take a look at vosa,s new MOT draft for this year. The rules are pretty clear as much as it grates me also.
  4. That Lee could possibly work.Quicker than removing for test i reckon.
  5. Has anybody come across the new rules starting in May this year, aftermarket HID lamps will be a rejection in a lamp not designed too run them originally.Bit of a PITA if your testers cute and knows they should not be fitted and fails the car.
  6. That will almost certainly be the short water hose feeding the passenger side turbo. It can be changed from underneath but its a proper fiddle. It sits directly above the bellhousing and is more accesible with the gearbox removed.I use an 8mm id silicone hose for repairs like these. It does not have to be braided either.
  7. Ahem that would be rather oooops :helpsmilie:
  8. Ash is an amazing designer of high end zed parts, but thats where it ends.Having dealt with him previously, pinning him down for date of despatch is like trying to nail Blancmange too a ceiling.
  9. Hi Poncho,This all too common as people cheap out from buying the correct plugs.Seen all kinds of odd ones over the years fitted.Whereabouts in Bristol do you live ? Im North of the River in Brentry
  10. This is not going to be a popular comment i am afraid,But in all honesty i have seem some horror cars purchased from club members over the years. Its in no way a dig at this great club but i would hate for a newbie too think any car purchased via here must be amazing as in my experience that is not always the case.Do some home work and make sure 100% the car is worth the hard earned money.Do not buy an auto on the pretence you can swap the box at a later date,Good manual boxes are like hens teeth now and 75% have 4th gear issues or bearing noises.Ask for proof of service history,ie cambelt changes and other maintenance a 25 year old car requires.Good luck with the search and as my Dad always said"Buy in haste, and repent at leisure".
  11. How are the hands fairing Andrew, nice and cut are they after performing that lovely job !
  12. It will be a breakdown elsewhere i assure you not the pack.PTUs can go faulty but usually corrosion is the problem.I would pull the injector plugs and clean them and the ptu connections first.
  13. z32 coil packs are nigh on bomb proof.Even at 700hp they dont suffer spark blow out.So my advice is,if it aint broke, dont mend it.
  14. The owner lives up north and is called Steve iirc,He rings once a year too discuss the car god knows why, offers it to me then vanishes again. He has attended some meets and i have seen the car on facebook.
  15. I use a good quality 8mm id silicone hose.It does not have to be braided inside.Be sure to use the Nissan cooling line spring clips to attach them.Jubilees are no good. The spring clips keep constant pressure on the hose so contract and grip if the hose diameter shrinks over time.
  16. Was an absolute pleasure to meet you Graham at last,I love that impul Z, such an honest clean car and a gem to work on :cool2:
  17. Been an absolute faff !! 2 condensors fitted,1st was like a teabag that came supplied with the car as a replacement,2nd was new then found out a faulty throttle or evaporator valve was causing high vacuum on the return back to the compressor which will lead to failure. So heater etc had to come out and bingo !! somebodys been there before !! all unwrapped and bare in there. All the insulation was ripped off from the 2 valves. So swapped it all out.Built back up.Gas dropped in and after many years the AC springs back into life. All this for a "pin hole" Chris was told in the condensor. So Chris the AC is ready just in time for mmmm WINTER :whistling:
  18. I mentioned this weeks ago on facebook.I had a phone call from John Evans a well known and respected motoring journalist. After discussing just about everything 300zx with him,He will be publishing the article in next weeks edition.John was a fan of the car and lucky enough to test drive one back in the early 90s.The article will cover pros and cons of ownership.what makes a good model and why the 300zx is a worthy classic now
  19. Its very sad to read this after being a friend of Lees myself,I had numerous dealings with him and got on well,Until Mondo came to mine that is.Around May he asked me to get made an urgently needed swb na prop as he had "Borrowed One" somewhere and needed to replace it.After getting it done at expense to myself, Lee saw via Facebook Mondo was getting work done at mine he went very quiet after and payment was never made.I was then made aware he was telling everybody i was poaching his customers ! despite me turning 3 of his who were unhappy away in the last 12 months out of loyalty too him. After a previous 9 week wait for payment on 6 fuel filters he had asked me for this was a kick in the teeth to say the least !
  20. Afraid so folks, another year of me !
  21. It does seem a long way to travel to have your car fixed seeing as im in Bristol and and Lee is in Shrewsbury. However these cars need specialist care and many performance garages come unstuck on them as they have no prior experience of the model. For oil changes ect im sure they are fine but any diagnostics that may arise or even setting the engine up correctly they will struggle without the knowledge required.
  22. ahh ok fingers crossed it fits fine chap, any reason you cut the arch at the swage line ?,i know its easier to remove less metal but forming an arch line will be harder in filler.Keep the updates coming i hate seeing zeds broken for rust if they are saveable
  23. Well done for tackling the job take my hat off to you, have you trial fitted the rear bumper yet or did you before welding the arch in ?
  24. After all these years too for gods sake,The Empire did some bad things around the world but it doesnt give them the right to try and scam us years later ffs :glare:
  25. Dont know how but it works for me fine,What did you search ?
