Rusty rear inner sills ? How bad ?
If your fitting skirts you may as well fibre fill them, youll be doing them again in a few years, all skirts do is trap moisture,99% of all cars i see with them have rot behind.

good tt engine
Yup pre 599 numbered engines are early and have the valve issue, cheers for that Si :thumbup1:

Mercedes
I look after a 500 sl 05 plate and the cars got zero rust,id say the earlier ones 2001 were dodgy but merc started to get there act together.amazing engines and running gear, parts are horrendous money though so be warned.16 spark plugs on a v8 model, last set i fitted on a lpg 420ML cost £260 the set !

good tt engine
As long as the crank is ok and no valves are damaged any shot engine is fine, most bore damage will go with the first oversize rebore anyway, even the most horrific looking scores.Stay away from pre 599 engines as they have the early heads with soft valves.

Disastrous discovery! how bad is it?
That full of fibre fill, proper bodged up tut tut, probaly got gloves and newspaper inside.repairable and not worth scrapping the car over.

Rougher running at the touch of a button..
Its because the idle is poor for some reason and pressing the heater button engages the AC clutch so the ficd valve opens to compensate for engine load and raises the idle speed.Could be whole manner of issues causing it though.

Zed sales patter
I troll the ebay ads regular and howl most of the time at the drivel spouted.I have found myself sending the odd cheeky message to people who are clearly taking the piss ! one guy was selling a car i knew and it was ahem "a shed" with loads of problems, his ad made it out to be a peach !! .Went all the way to Staines the other week for a customer to look at a silver swb auto, bent mot, made up service history,Body work described as an 8/10 was more like a 4 !!! ebay is still seen as somewhere for many people to offload there problems !

Best/Recommeded Fuel Pump Replacement
I personally prefer to swap pumps out now as a new item is very cheap to buy and for the hour or so it takes to fit its a quick job and saves any future issues,Full on pump failure is rare if im honest, but after a build or any performance mods,a phrase using the words ship and tar spring to mind.AEM units are good for the money as are walbro,Bosch are very good but can be expensive. The stock unit is very capable but at 25years old its done millions of revolutions !!

Misfire cylinder no.1
Hi Andrew, most common is high impedance in the coil causing bad spray pattern or they go open circuit and dont trigger at all.
-
Misfire cylinder no.1
No if the injector is dead thats the end of it,search up the dremel method it does work, youll need a long screwdriver to undo the cap screws, give them a tap first to free them, dont go wild or you will distort the heads and the screwdriver wont undo them.
-
Misfire cylinder no.1
Is the spark plug wet on no 1 cylinder, may be the injector itself, seeing more and more of this now.

Let's talk turbos...
Having drove GTX fitted cars and GT turbo cars id say for the money the X are not that amazing,I have a 621 hp car now with breather mods and the 675s and it kicks ass,the last GTX 600 hp car i drove was rather laggy even though the owner had spent huge amounts on Ash massives, plainair pipes ect

More vibration woes....
situations like this i just run it up off the floor, any wobbles soon become visible.A Diff issue will drone usually, drop some oil out and take a look at it,the first part that comes out is the best tell tale as to the health of the component be it a gearbox or a diff.Check the rear cv joint on the prop also for excess movement
