  1. Zeds are available cheaper than that trust me,i know of several tidy cars that came in recently for sensible money.
  2. dont bother with gaskets, silicone sealer will work fine i assure you.
  3. Hi Tom,before wading in with new plugs which may create more problems its best to ascertain why you have a misfire first, coil packs rarely fail and the plugs dont corrode like the injectors.with the car running pull each coil pack plug off in turn too narrow down the mis fire listening for a change in engine note.Once youve isolated the cylinder not firing, swap the spark plug out,if the fault travels you know its the spark plug,if not and it stays on the same cylinder you know its electrical, next check the injector plug connection,it will probaly be corroded and green.give it a clean and see if it sorts the problem.Report back on here after.
  4. Very suspect id say, outlay on that alone would be well over the asking price,"Cosmetic headgaskets" always cracks me up when i read that.
  5. The most lightly culprit is alignment of the CAS bracket or the drive peg is bent in the end of the cam,if it is be very care as they are brittle and can snap
  6. Stephens correct, the 525s will do 500 plus and bolt up stock, youll need manifolds bigger ic pipework etc but it is possible. They are very capable turbos, ive fitted probably 10 sets and have ran mine at 480 for 8 yrs now.

That EBC !!! I smell soy sauce somewhat, when it comes to something so critical get a branded unit,ie Greddy,Blitz etc.
  8. If anybody is interested Zelda is for sale,i have the current owners details.
  9. As times and technology change the smoke tester has become standard now, they are crazy expensive but for those times a huge leak is found they are great, ive used one but currently don't own one but its on my list, the best thing is they are low pressure but ramming air behind the smoke at a higher pressure soon shows where the leak is.As Jeff has said 5 psi is simply not enough for those annoying hard to find leaks as they simply wont show. Many leaks from ill seated hose clips etc need a little more to be found.
  10. Well if I'm honest i would not cross your bridges just yet because some mot place has said its had it.I'm sure you'd have heard a problem if it had one engine wise.So before its condemned shouldnt Lee be looking at it first before all eventualities are played out on here.
  11. Some of you guys especially the Scottish member s may have known Ross.I'm afraid too announce he passed away aged 30 on August the 4th.Rip fella.

  14. it wont work iirc,I fitted a US alternator loom and plugged the sender plug in on the drivers side and it had no conection im sure.to relocate the sender look up 1/8 npt remote sender adaptor on ebay
  15. I can supply and fit Bosch sensors for £250 the pair,e bay ones are very often poor quality items and not worth the hassle of fitting.
  16. yes as oil runs down the stem overnight then combusts on start up
  17. Over run smoking is usually piston related,id say ring land failure,on over run the crankcase pressures rise forcing oil up past the failed rings. This wont always show on a comp test.
  18. mafs cant alter the fuel pressure, have you swapped out the fuel pump ecu ?
  19. Hi Chap,as previously stated im in Bristol so not any further than going to Zedworld really. If you need any work etc feel free to contact me.
  20. can you get a plug off to help identify them
  21. A grinding noise can be caused by a failed turbo,as the other guys have said bearings don't grind.does the noise increase with revs ?
  22. Good job Paul, submersible fuel line is essential as you say, expensive stuff compared with regular stuff
  23. The power balance is dodgy due too the unstable idle, whats the idle percentage ?
  24. I would say before bypassing it needs a consult check,an open circuit det sensor wont cycle usually on the ignition, you may have an issue which needs fixing and not masking with a resistor
