  1. electrical faults are not common with the autobox.more than lightly the box itself if im honest.Autos are rare now and most are at the end of their life.
  2. Bigh on here has a decent engine for sale,usually youll find the furthest bearing away or near as dam it is the first to fail.
  3. Or how about the club buys it ? wheel it out at shows as a original example of the marque ?
  4. REmove the clip that locates the actuator arm and push it up it makes access easier to the top filter tree bolt.
  5. What jap motor is it Bri,i noticed the balance shaft in the pic,is it a mitsi ? they like using them,top work by the way fella :gunsmilie:
  6. Your in France fella,as long as its not Paris i wouldnt lock it anyhow.
  7. A spun bearing without knock would be impossible.Its the tolerance that holds it in place,once thats gone youll have clearance which would give the knocking sound.
  8. Bolts are re useable but i have had some stretch when torqued.But its very rare.Make sure the bolt threads are good are there is no tapering of the bolt after the shoulder.

  10. check the aircon drain is conected,short rubber hose above the ecu.If not any condensation from the ac runs into the footwell.

  12. He said it winds over really fast Mark,which usually indicates compression loss in my experience,hopefully its not what it sounds like but after he said hes had other belt issues....
  13. Turning over quickly doesnt sound good.Put the car in gear remove the oil filler cap and push the car gently,see if the cam moves.

  16. Just to add to this thread please nobody be tempted by e bay 02 sensors,dont waste your money.From the ones ive seen not worth the money and aggro to fit them,Nearly 9 times out of 10 they wont last or give poor readings.
  17. Exide are not the best,worked at a main dealer and te warranty claims we had from them was shocking,Varta/bosch are good but Yausa !! they are proper chocalate.We send loads back at work on a regualr basis.My zed has a Moura and its 3 yrs old now with no probs.

  19. Okay for track use,even drifters are going away from them as they dont seem to last.The Cyberspeeds Vig had were well made i have to say.
  20. were chipping at away at it Howard trust me,those wheels though drool !!! you will need some serious grip as traction is going to be an issue.

Its not power thats the issue its what rpm your engines revs too really,if you have wild cams and supporting mods ie lightened and balanced crank etc i would say you need them.TBH though ive seen some bad overheats where the coil packs have stuck too the cylinder heads but the valve springs didnt suffer.Has the length been measured and they are out of tolerance ?

  24. after an overheat this is common in all engines ,all the crud that has deposited lifts off and mixes with the coolant,dont condemn the engine yet,the comp test figures are good.flush the system and add new antifreeze.When you unsorn the car go for a gentle drive and see how she behaves.
