  1. sounds like the high idle issue is the problem tbh,as your slowing in gear the engine is pulling against the slowing transmission.Does your car have a manual conversion ? what is the idle valve percentage at idle on consult ?

  6. Take the bottom of the guide off it helps flow :thumbup1: Mark you didnt lap the valves in without getting the seats and faces cut ? the inlets may seal ok but the exhaust seats will never lap properly :no:

  8. I was too,479 and climbing,det stopped play.wanted the magic 500 but never got there.If the afr gauge had been hooked up it would have helped.

The only reason this has been left to festor is a lack of oil in NK,Saddam was a nutter and had terrible things done to his oponents but hey nobody cared about that really it was oil that kick started the USA into action,this fruit loop is far more dangerous and needs wiping off the planet asap.why are we waiting ffs.i say round em up,put em in a field and bomb the *******s :thumbup1:
  12. The chassis rail is only double skinned at the front and not meant for jacking at the rear,if you look behind the rear sill there are raised points next to the front subframe mounts,support it there.

  14. Last set i did i got bolts welded back in,i cant recall the name of them but a rod is available for an arc welder to join different metals.

  16. Just fit locking collars Joel,half the price,easy to install and you never have to replace later.They dont make much of a compromise in ride either imho.

  18. its up to you personally,but why not give it a freshen up,new bearings,stock or forged pistons your choice,i know what mine is,get the heads re furbed ie valves re cut into the seats and you have faith then should you choose to get it mapped.Maybe it can be mapped to a milliion horsepower whatever but on an engine 20 years old who would want to......its all ok until it goes wrong.Im not saying it will but flip a coin in the air and see how it lands.
  19. most of those mods are not power specific however id hope to see around 520 fwhp,if you had larger ic piping and cams maybe more,the ported heads will help but the intercooler piping will restrict airflow.
  20. insurance is such a pain when you mention mods,i could half my traders policy if i was dishonest but its not worth it if it goes wrong,always best to declare anything youve done imho.When ive shopped around and say imports and engine mods watch em run for the hills,its crazy as i have over 12 years no claims and probaly do less than 100 miles a year in other peoples modified cars !!
  21. universal rubber boot kits are available Joel,alot cheaper than a new joint.
  22. In my experience with these engines its usually a sign of broken piston ring lands,under normal load they are will appear ok but as soon as you bring the car on boost youll get a smoke screen out the exhausts.Its worth doing a compression or leak down test first.
