Wait, did you miss pictures 2 & 3? IMO that car is not worth £3,300

I do agree with both, but the sills are an easy fix (if no further corrosion underneath)

The price would need to come down abit but it looks like an unmolested UK manual TT with what looks like a very clean interior... Ideal project imo, wouldn't take much to get that looking tidy again

Seconded - that could be a very nice car if the rust is not terminal!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

The price does need to come down a little bit but your not accounting for the fact that there really that many UK spec cars left and in the long run will be worth more than the torrent of jap imports.

A couple of grand spent on this and it could look amazing

All three layers will be fkcd. Its not an easy fix. And its not cheap. IMO

And there will be more under the car too:scared:

Of course its all doable. :thumbup1: Just lots of time n money needed

Only time will tell..

My opinion differs from your opinion but its too nice a day to talk about it.

Fixing the rust, especially on the nearside, could double the purchase price

Way over priced imo. Whilst it looks ok, that rot is a labour intensive job, it certainly needs a damn good service as well by the sounds of it. If you were paying for labour for the bodywork and engine work the purchase price of that is gone. If you were seriously looking if be tucking another grand or two aside and keep looking for a much cleaner car. Few years back that car would be for breaking and you'd be lucky to get £1k let alone 3.

The spec between the two is as such that it makes not a jot of difference. Unless some weird law pops up that imports are not able to be classics or some crazy nonsense (less likely, now were supposedly leaving the lunatics on the other side of the channel) the values will as now continue to be based around condition rather than market origin.

the real cost to put this car rite and a full repaint plus all the other stuff you cant see will easy set you back 5k its all adds up when you start digging into a car am well over 22k so far

I agree, those sills will be right back to the inners,Its possible the subframe mountings will need replacing also where the 2 14mm bolts attach.Repairable but to keep the cars value it cant be a plate over and underseal it up to the door handles type of affair !! Id value that car at £1500 tops.the welding and possible engine fault will be costly, the guy is clearly chancing his arm with that one.Whatever his quotes were on a car like that you could double them easily with hidden nasties.
