I've got a weird tappety like ticking sound that seems to be coming from the back of the engine. The noise goes away above 2k rpm but is quite loud below this. I was thinking that it might be a problem with the vvt springs, but that's just a guess at the moment. Anybody have any ideas? Being a bit of a tight git I haven't any way of recording the noise

Hi people, I have changed my plugs to Iridium 7's and she runs sweet under load, but having some issues with low idle and stalling on tick over. I swapped back to NGK 6's and she idles just as bad, but runs rough, so back to 7's and all is fine except the low idle/stalling on tick over. I went to adjust the base idle and I can hear a hissing sound from the valve itself. All the pipes have no air leaks. If I remove the yellow connector the hissing stops, and she stalls. I connect it back and the hissing starts. Any ideas people....... Alz.

Managed to drop the car off today to get the rims refurbed. For those that missed the last thread, I'd managed to find someone that was willing to split the rims, powder coat the centre a nice gun metal grey (match the car quite well) and the lip a nice shadow chrome. He gave me a very pleasing price to the tune of £300, so as you can imagine i was rather excited to drop it off and to allow work to commence. However, after been back at work a couple of hours i received a phone call telling me its not going to be a easy as once thought, turns out at sometime in their life, somebody has actually welded the seal around the split, as well as siliconed it. So he sa…

Hi guys, converted zed to na rear diff and subframe, and speedo is really out. Seems I'm going along in the slowlane at 100mph. Either that or ka's and lorrys are getting a bit fast lol. It's not so bad till around 50mph sat nav being few mph out, but has the speed gets up it's around 15 to 20mph out. Got a standard ecu on for the moment and Consult says it's limited to 115mph, but on a private rd limiter kicks in at just over 130mph going by clocks. Is there a way of fitting na speed sensor, or a known fix don't like speedo being out with all these yellow boxes hiding around here. Thank you.

How reliable is the stock ECU on the 300ZX? The majority of these were built in the early 90's around the same time as the Mitsi GTO. Having had 3 GTO's two of which had ECU failiures, its something I would like to address, before it could happen again. it seems the capacitors used on the circuit board to build the GTO's ECU only had a 15 year life span, which wasnt known at the time of production. Capacitors started to leak, ECU's started to get false readings, start over compensating for things that werent happening, and caused BIG problems in the engines. I know a guy who does stock ECU rebuilds, replacing all ECU components with original OEM spec parts…

Been looking to do this for a while but just want to get people's opinions first ! Just sold my NA and will be using some of the funds to kit out my TT with a full driftworks kit. The full shabang including Hicas, Traction rods, Camber Arms, Toe rods And Bushes. A tidy some for it all but any recommendations before I commit to buy it all.

]Is in a really bad place right now, some c**t clipped my back end yesterday when going round a roundabout which put me into a spin, smashed the kerb & barrier bending my n/s rear under the car @ 45 degrees totalling my rear bumper & rear wing! & i was only on my to MOT it :-( Seriously bad f**kin times. Probably didn't help that the i put the rear wheels on the wrong way round after my last trip to the pod, which may expalin why i lost traction so easily & span :-( As a result i won't be able to make Japfest so 2 tickets plus stand pass for the car available :-(
