Finally got my 350z Brembo calipers on the front of the old girl today and it was very straightforward, just had to drill the mounting bolt holes out from 12mm to 14mm.I purchased the brake conversion off AlanZ which included 350z Track discs (324mm), JSK conversion brackets and standard zed calipers....thanks to Alan by the way for the generous refund for having to get the discs skimmed, much appreciated matey :).....which all worked well but I thought why not fit the 350z Brembos as well!.I had to get 4 14mm caliper bolts from Nissan (nearly £14 for the 4), but the killer was £104+vat for the pad fitting kit!!!.I already had the two spring plates and was just missing th…

*cut and pasted from DW* Here's a quick video clip to help explain the situation the white Volks are 18's and are decent enough (9j/10j ET +45) and sit pretty well but I wanted something with a lip and preferably 17's as the local tyre supplier get's a lot more 17" part worns than 18" so I did a deal with reeperR32 on Driftworks for his 17's I knew that being ET -7 they were going to take a bit of adjusting to get in the arches. A bit of camber on the front (9j's) sorted them but the rear arches on Z32's are lame and as expected the rear rim lip (10j) sits a good 50mm outside the arch, with the edge of the t…

  13. I must admit that I am pretty gutted today has eventually arrived I always had a soft spot for my old LWB TT and I'd worked bloody hard getting it almost to where I wanted it then I made the fatal error of entrusting the old girl with a bunch of fookin' cowboys and that unfortunately was the beginning of the end  after several failed attempts at making the best of a bad situation, the other month I finally had to face the sad reality that the old girl had smoked her last tyre so last Friday I recieved a phonecall from the Long Haired General (the wife) saying that somebody had knocked on the door and asked if we …

Hi all, I'm Marko and I sell a gadget that projects speed onto your windscreen. (SpeedView daylight visible Head up Display) A couple of photos and a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCP7fzrHULw The speed shown (kph or mph) will be correct no matter what you've done with tyres/gearboxes/diffs, and it's a great way to properly convert an imported car. Did I mention it being dead flair and showing up well on trackday cameras too? The SpeedView is easy to fit with the universal instructions, but it’s even easier with photos and a few tips and tricks from somebody who has fitted one before. Real enthusiasts and customer…

  16. I've got a weird tappety like ticking sound that seems to be coming from the back of the engine. The noise goes away above 2k rpm but is quite loud below this. I was thinking that it might be a problem with the vvt springs, but that's just a guess at the moment. Anybody have any ideas? Being a bit of a tight git I haven't any way of recording the noise

Hi people, I have changed my plugs to Iridium 7's and she runs sweet under load, but having some issues with low idle and stalling on tick over. I swapped back to NGK 6's and she idles just as bad, but runs rough, so back to 7's and all is fine except the low idle/stalling on tick over. I went to adjust the base idle and I can hear a hissing sound from the valve itself. All the pipes have no air leaks. If I remove the yellow connector the hissing stops, and she stalls. I connect it back and the hissing starts. Any ideas people....... Alz.

Managed to drop the car off today to get the rims refurbed. For those that missed the last thread, I'd managed to find someone that was willing to split the rims, powder coat the centre a nice gun metal grey (match the car quite well) and the lip a nice shadow chrome. He gave me a very pleasing price to the tune of £300, so as you can imagine i was rather excited to drop it off and to allow work to commence. However, after been back at work a couple of hours i received a phone call telling me its not going to be a easy as once thought, turns out at sometime in their life, somebody has actually welded the seal around the split, as well as siliconed it. So he sa…

  21. Hi guys, converted zed to na rear diff and subframe, and speedo is really out. Seems I'm going along in the slowlane at 100mph. Either that or ka's and lorrys are getting a bit fast lol. It's not so bad till around 50mph sat nav being few mph out, but has the speed gets up it's around 15 to 20mph out. Got a standard ecu on for the moment and Consult says it's limited to 115mph, but on a private rd limiter kicks in at just over 130mph going by clocks. Is there a way of fitting na speed sensor, or a known fix don't like speedo being out with all these yellow boxes hiding around here. Thank you.

Last night I eventually sat down and worked out what jobs need doing to be ready for Japfest. Some are pretty straight forward 'drill hole and tighten bolt' type jobs but some I haven't done before and might need professional assistance: (1) Re-fit brake shoes (2) Re-fit and bleed all brakes (3) Replace clutch (4) Fit prop (5) Drill holes and bolt in cage (6) Drill holes and fit harness bolts for passenger side (7) Re-drill holes and adjust drivers seat rail (8) Remove exhaust front pipes and heat wrap (9) Re-fit whole exhaust (10) Plumb in oil cooler hoses (11) Re-fit plug for bov (12) Plumb in fire extinguisher nozzles (13) Re-fit side li…
