im going to compile a list of things to check on a monthly basis, to help maintain our zeds, then create a sticky to help folks out. Apart from the usual checks we do, water, oil and brakes etc. there are bits that get neglected and over time can cause issues if not looked after. what i want is ideas from members of what to check in addition to normal checks. and a guide of how often to check to give you an idea, some of the top of my head. Item / location issue cause remedy Targa drain tub…

I am still having idle issue. If I unplug the MAS it idles at 1500 and when I adjust the AAS in (clockwise) it can be dropped to at least 1100 probably lower and idles fine. If I'm in the car with MAS on it will not idle at all and if I hold throttle will not hold smooth till over 1500 if I can get it there. It sound like a miss with the MAS on. With it disconnected its a smooth idle. I measured the voltage of terminal B and it only shows up as .51 and I believe it should be .8v. As I'm unable to easily start the car anymore i checked voltage on crank and it maxes on .99v Anyone near Basingstoke with a spare to test? Or a spare forsale. Thanks

I have got so many bits to do to the zed at the moment, New lower suspension, HiCAS lockout and new arms Rocker covers Boot build Interior swap Proper polish and detail following my silly use of the tailgate as a shelf! I did have this list weeks ago but following a weekend about a month or 2 ago where I stuck near on £100 in the car and she was empty by Tuesday morning she went back in the garage and hasn't moved since. I was genuinely losing my enthusiasm, looking at smaller cheaper toys on ebay and pistonheads to replace her..... HOWEVER, I just pulled her out the garage for a quick clean and a quick once over with the polisher to remov…

You know how you wish you'd never started a job on the Zed, happens all the time eh? Well I have been trying to get the 2 top stud bolts out to the drivers side turbo for bl%0dy ages now. read countless threads. I can't really heat it up as there's feck all room down there and I've disoconnected so many bits and bobs to get better access she ain't going run without me spending a few hours putting vac hoses etc back together, not to mention hte pas side O2 sensor and d/pipe. :gun_bandana: For those who have done it what tool did you use I bought most of the tools in the attached photo. Getting a offset ring on is no problem, turning it in the imited space howeve…

i've decided to get a selin maf translator, (don't want to hear "no need" or "why" ) just want to know where to buy one? or what other options there are? basically bee planning the cry02 system this morning and im going to need to dual intakes to run it correctly, im going to run a the system as fuel rail > intakes 1> intake 2> intercooler ( the intakes can be run in series) other wise i've got to run the a single cryo intake after the maf before the t pipe, and i've no room down there already due to a massive fmic.

Hi, Quick question for you all, When taking my zed to the MOT station i noticed in my rear view mirror that it was putting some blue smoke out the passenger side exhaust under load. Now this only happens when i give it some beans, So is it the turbo on its way out or something more sinister? Cheers in advance

Decided to tackle the dreaded targa drain pipe leak in the drivers side foot well. Managed to get the majority of the connectors etc out of the way and then hit a big problem. How do I detach the piggyback connectors that are attached to the fuse box? Do they slide forward or back wards? the last thing I want to do is break anything!! Also, will I need any special tools? Thanks in advance, lets hope the weather holds as I am stuck on the drive.

Hey everyone, trying to come up with some interesting ideas. Just want to see what has already been done though. So pleas post up pics of your center console / stereo surround bezel and headunit setups. Do you have a neat single din, a fold out single din? a customised fascia for double din, genuine double din fascia setup? single din head unit and single din audio processor? Gustom gauges, all pics modded or not appreciated. Would like to see whats already out there! I would love a double din, with touchscreen and digi gauges like on the R35 GTR, if not, maybe a single din nav fixed nav (not fold out type) with a single din gauge pod setup, for 3 gauges…

Ok, I bought and fitted a new front lower ball joint but there is a conical insert on my old ball joint that does not appear on my new ball joint. Is this meant to unscrew from the old ball joint and fit to the new one? To say that I'm confused is an understatement  Pictured - new ball joint (with dust cover removed) fitted to lower arm and old ball joint with tapered inser/spacer. Hopefully somebody knows what's going on - Andy

Well this afternoons mission was to remove the AIV andPVRV systems, I didn't bother with a write up as there are a few out there and the one i used was this it was bang on made it very easy. http://forums.nicoclub.com/how-to-delete-your-aiv-s-90-300zx-n-a-t473354.html Heres my pile of junk.. And with that gone my car suddenly doesn't leak air in anywhere as bad as it was and will actually hold a steady idle.. Just a small one to find now but i can drive it now ... well once i find the small water leak at the back of the engine

after collecting my turbos from Craig (zx-tt) , i got some strange ideas in my head for different things to do with my zed, the most realistic is to repair my cry02 system that i used to run on my S13, the system is basically a way of cooling various components under the bonnet using C02, i did my uni coursework on it ( not a Cry02 system but a copy we made) although it did use a genuine intercooler sprayer. basically its a safe way of getting more power our system basically dropped the charge temperature by about 30-35% more then without it average was 32% iirc. i've still got the tank and solenoid although 90% of the plumbing and wiring is gone an…

Hi Can anyone help or got any ideas what will work best firstly do the windscreen trim strips [vertical ones] just pull off or do you need trim tool to release them and secondly what paint would be best to use to cover up where the black plastic coating has come off, or any other ideas to Re-Furb them. has anyone ever thought about running two stock side mounted intercoolers in parrel. ie two stock ones per turbo. the idea of increased sized sidemounts is obv to increase cooling via exposure and to allow easier flow thus reducing resistance. if you can t them so each stock one process half the air amount as per normal their would be half the restriction and twice cooling capacity....... any input guys? i recon theres room in there.....

On the car at the moment. will indefinately be removed but wont be for at least 12 months, to give way to refurbed stock rims and more subtle skirts. Anyway, if you can tell me what they are, would be much appreciated.

With the sales on zeds being so stale at the moment im wondering if its better just to break my spare shorty up. As i have put a few nice bits on her that i could either sell or swap onto the black shorty. Im not looking to drum up any interest in selling the car really just need to decide what would be best and whether i would make over a grand in breaking. Ill add the for sale ad below as i cant link threads on this laptop. I have been considering selling my spare shorty as the summer is creeping on and is a good time to start selling. I do have the room to store her but do not really need this zed. I bought her as a non working project on the side a…
