I think (fingers crossed) ive found the cause of my smoking at idle issue.........i dropped the oil out of her yesterday and it was as thin as weasel p*ss!!!. it was castrol edge 5w40 fully synthetic and has been in for approx 1800 miles but when it drained it did look or feel any thicker than brake fluid!, and thats no exaggeration, and had appeared to have completely broken down. refilled her with 10/40 semi and fitted a new filter, drove home (approx 12 miles) and left her idling on the turbotimer for about 4 minutes........and no smoke :) , whereas the night before it was billowing out :(!!!. going by the state of the castrol that came out i would never use …

this must be one of the daftest things nissan did designing this car . allowing the rear drainage to discharge into the sills . ive recently discovered the dreaded metal cancer around the rear drain points . while cutting away the corrosion i decided to reroute the drains to a safe place where they cannot corrode . firstly i renewed the whole piping from the targa right through and then made a new exit point . the original drain tubes at the sill are going to be removed and the gap closed . heres some pics of the new set up . an easy and cheap job that could save you plenty . only costs about £5 a corner

I got a massive task. As somebody know I am trying to tune my zed and i got some problems. I installed 555cc injectors and i got chip to run that fuel from AndyP But problem is that i spend 2 days to try fix over fueling and it was unsuccessful. Its over fueling badly cylinder 1 and 4 doesn work but tasted for small runs and its run good on higher revs than i put it foot down. Its spins wheels and its runs fast. But on 1-3 k revs two or one cylinders doesn work. Please give me advice why is over fueling ? Chip is made to work for 555cc injectors but what is wrong?

just got hold of a set of these, test fitted last night and they fitted nicely. however i was wondering what the torque settings should be on the nuts im assuming they will be the same as teh standard wheel nuts? which i also dont know what it is i just do them up tight lol. but obviously im thinking that not torquing things like this up properly can infact make a weaker join.

Ok, so I need some advice please guys. Once my rebuilt engine is completed and before I have the Emerald mapping done, what type of controller will I need to keep an eye on things and help get the best out of it? To start with I'll run a new OEM fuel pump and see how far that gets, before leaning out. Any ideas would be great etc.. welcome :balloon: Basic build info: Forged engine - Jimmer Sard 850 injectors & fuel rail. Over the weekend heading south just near J40 of the M6 in the inside lane, I overtook you in my astravan. I know not a car usually featured on here but I'm sure we had a chap, prbayantknight was it? That had a replica, wondered if by chance it was you? Looking very cool - even if I am a little young to remember the series!

Hiya, Does it matter which injector plug goes to which cylinder? I know coil plugs needs to be sorted by colours to each of the cylinders but is it same for injectors?

So I went and picked up it's replacement yesterday - 10th Anniversary so only 600 came to the UK with some Bilsteins, Torsen LSD and close ratio 6 Speed :) Really happy with it and the plans are an Eaton Supercharger next year at some point! Obviously I'll still frequent these forums as the banter is 2nd to none but alas no more Nikita (My Zed's name lol ) Take it easy guys (and gals) :thumbup1: Mark

If I told you I had a Turbo techics hybrid turbo(Well a pair for a 300) how would you know thats wot they were?? Size/shape/ markings on castings etc.??? Do they need "special" bits of manifold?? Or do they replace stock turbos?? Do they look the same/different to stock ones. How can you tell a stock one??? Help!:confused1: :stupid:

  17. OK First things first.............. This thread is not about what you prefer to drive. Its about the price difference between an auto and a manual of the same spec. So... lets just assume its a 1995 Ser4 TT Slicktop. Secondly lets assume the other specs are all identical and Factory. So... if the Auto is worth/being sold at ..say £3K How much more(if any) is the same car in manual form.??? And is there a difference between factory manwell spec and "converted later"??? Im fairly sure its worth more but by how much??? Sits back.............................

  24. I will try and explain this problem and everything I have tried to fix it. 1. The car will not start but turns over. 2. Occasionally between starting attempts the car makes a cough as if its going to start then continually turns over with nothing. 3. Fuel pressure, Compression, Spark, Injectors, Airflow meter, Ignition Amplifier all changed and fault remained. These next two point may enlighten someone to recognize this problem. 4. I remove the intake pipes from the inter cooler to the throttle flaps and spray some easy start into either of the flaps then attempt to start it the car starts purring perfectly and runs with no problem obviously until the easy…
