  3. Hi all, I've been searching for days on the internet for the solution. My problem is that whenever I'm slowly comming to a stop and press the brakes very light the ABS actuator makes a buzzing boingoing noise, almost as if a spring is depressing and my pedal is moving a little bit down so I have to press the pedal further to come to a stop. Under driving conditions everything works just fine. Only at very low speed when applying very little braking. But here in holland we have many bumpstops and roundabouts so it is getting on my nerves... Found a lot of threats on various forums from people with the same problem. Sadly no solution. Hope you can help! Thank…

Received my new sill bits from a guy called Steve who was recommended by Steams and Sussex Stu. All is good and the parts he supplies are not available oem. For £290, what he supplies is rear arches, lower rear wing outer & inner section and they appear to be bloody good and offer up well, however the main section tucking under front wing was not supplied. He did tell me what he manufactures and supplies, I was at work and not giving the conversation the attention that it deserved. Although I need these I also need the main sections tucking under the front wing. I possibly can make my own inner section where required using thin wall box section cut down with 4" micro…

  7. reason being is, since it over heated, ive never really felt confident in it, plus this annoying clunk at the front, will be getting the body issues sorted first if i do. and most likely a uprated radiator. the hot weather is making me doubt the cooling system is up to the job, not sure if its a combination of me being paranoid, the radiator needing changing, or the front mounted intercooler, but the car got up to 93 degrees today (weather report states had temps of 29, but car was showing ambiant temp of 32 so not sure how accurate that was), now i know some of the peeps in the US, especially in Texas drive around with there temp at around the same, but for me sitting th…

ok, so you heard problem 1 yesterday. (door lock plastic catch broke) problem 2: my tripometer stopped counting up the KMs today. but speedo etc still working. problem 3: one of my power steering hoses has a leak, in process of replacing now. problem 4: The car keeps trying to kill me even at consistent speeds and no accelerating - if I hit a slight bump in the road, i start fish tailing, badly... Lightness at the rear which I previously mentioned seems to be down to play in the joints. Spoke to Luke at Z Center, and am going to get his Hicas removal fitted along with inner track rods and outter track rod balls at the same time. So only one of the i…

I finally fixed my misfire today, traced it down to high resistance on injector # 4. An hour or so with the dremel and it was out and the replacement fitted. Its misfired for ages, I even think it misfired in my old white car where the engine came from, so good to finally get it resolved! Now the reason for the thread title... pulled up on the drive and heard a hissing/bubbling from behind the dash... heater matrix popped! Fix one fault and another appears :clown: oh well I never use the heaters anyway so bye bye for now may reinstate you one day. lol :tongue_smilie:

Hey guys, I'm having a big problem with my Z. I'm pretty sure it's PTU related. Basically, when driving the engine will start to act all weird, but only if i've been driving a while (long trips etc) or on very hot days. The accelerator will go digital, so that it is either fully on, or fully off but the accelerator isn't pushed down all the way. So, I pull over and it runs like shit. Turn the engine off and it won't start. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and it starts up and acts like nothing had ever been wrong? This will usually happen once on a long journey etc. Anyway, with the recent hot weather it's happened after the car has been left out in the…

was at the car trying to figure out what was going on with my horn as it sounded a bit like a choked chicken, and also trying to figure out why my aux fan wasnt working, well changed me fuse for the aux fan, as id used that when the engine cont fuse kept blowing so that sorted out the aux fan out so thats now working. I emptied out all the water the horns had gathered, though have a feeling unless they dry out and start working, ill have to replace them with the spares i have. But was trying to see if i could find out what was causing my clunking when steering and braking, and put my hand on the passenger side tyre, only to feel a rather large bulge :o luckily …

As I promised in my intro thread, it's time to start asking questions. To avoid opening two threads I'm going to ask everything here, if that's alright with everyone. Emissions: I managed to get my car through our versions of an MoT with the help of the people conducting it, but here's the thing. They measure on two levels, at 3000 rpm, for lambda and cats (passed both with flying colours) and at idle. And despite passing the first test, I failed completely on the emissions test. The exhausts have been replaced last year (had the same problem), so I don't think there's a problem with that, and since the cats and lambda are fine, what could be the problem? …

  17. Ok, at the moment I've got a mongoose quad exit exhaust fitted, no complaints - suits me fine. What are my options regards replacing the existing OEM cats? Decats, sports cats....? I'm looking to up my BHP and want to get the exhaust sorted first (already have an Apexi induction kit fitted). I know the arguments for and against decats (turbo seals leakage against power gain) but my engine seems to be in good nick and well looked after prior to me having the car. Who can supply what product? Japspeed, Powerflow....what's available on the market just now? By the way it's a '93 TT Auto. Cheers - Andy

nothing major but irritating more than anything: Went for a drive today, got out the car, went to lock it, and the lock on he drivers side doesnt work anymore. It was working, then with no warning, bang it stopped. i turn the key, no resistance, nothing. Still only turns half way in each direction, but it doesnt touch the locking mechanism. The central locking still works from inside the car. It wasnt sticking at all prior to stopping working. Guessing it has just detatched on the inside. How do I remove the door card to check it. and worse case scenario, can I swap it out with the lock from the boot or passenger side? Like I said …

I've got a BMW on LPG due to the growing family. (It's BigJim's one - he's a real gent BTW). It has the gas tank in the wheel well. There's a spare in the boot but it takes up a fair bit of room. If I take it out I won't have a spare. Any idea if this is a good idea? I hear mixed messages about whether recovery services will help if you have a puncture. Also, what is best to do a temporary roadside repair? I've tried that aerosol foam in the past and it didn't always seem to work plus tyre places didn't want to do a proper repair after that had been used.
