Going to be looking to get the zed painted in the near future, few other jobs first though. Question is how much paint etc will i need to do a full hit on the 300? i can get the paint etc from work for much cheapness and thought id be aswell getting it the now so it's just a case of dropping the car off when i find someone to paint it. Cheers in advance.

Wanting to get my rims refurbished, but its tricky trying to find someone to take them on. I can get them all powder coated silver for £200, but i'll loose the chrome polish around the rim. I can only find one place willing to split them, but they won't do the polishing, so i'd have brand new looking silver spokes, but the outside lip would be just bare metal, and even then it would cost £200 per rim. So its not looking good for the shiny bit. What would you guys do? I'll try and find a picture so you know what i'm talking about.

Was there just one type of Tokico BMC on the Zed? The one I have has BM57 on it. The reason I ask is that I've traced a problem with my brakes down to one seal on the BMC being misshapen. Rather than buy a s/h bmc 'dI much rather get the oem service kit. The one Z1 sell is for a tokico 1" diameter internal bore. Cheers Steams

Got a irritating problem with the car temperature. I get hot air blowing in the car no ptoblems, until occasionally it will blow through cold whilst stationary. I can't see any leaks anywhere. I've filled the radiator upto max, run the car upto temperature and made sure there's no air left in the system. Yet if I stop the engine, remove the rad cap, there's little pressure and the water is only tepid at best. The engine doesn't overheat, but has got upto 90° when it usually sits, around 80°-83°. Any suggestions?

Hi guys, a while back had a post about a backfire when I rev to 2000rpm and let it drop back to idle. And felt a little flat like it was holding back. Changed every sensor on the bloody car, coils even injectors the other day. I only found problem by accident today, tried turning cas fully anti clockwise and problem gone lol. All I can say Is my timing gun must have had it, cause been setting to 15btdc so many times and it's been the same pop pop bang bang. Been using no1 coil, not the loop. Thing is set another z up the otherday with my light and that's fine. Cause I had the light and trusted it didn't even think to turn it further lo…

I'm trying to get the zed insured on a classic policy as i've already got an everyday car. I've phoned Footman James, Performance Direct and Adrian Flux but they all say they don't insure imports! It's so frustrating as im sure there's not much difference between the uk and jap spec. Anyone got any recommendations for other companies as it's looking like i'll never get the car on the road.

I have a rather bad oil leak, and was thinking of whipping the gearbox off today to find it (manual), I always change the spiggot bushing, but I haven't got one, will be putting the box back on tonight, is it necessary to change it? Its an oem, not nismo... Cheers...

Hi folks, not been on in ages as i got fed up bending over a bonnet fixing yet another problem! Haha. So ive taken the plunge and got myself a 350z. But i still have my baby, and shes crying out a lot of oil through both banks of the exhaust. ?ive had a wee peek about and there is no oil in any of the turbo pipes (inlet and outlet). And the pcv valve hoses are full, i mean full, of fresh oil. So hence the title, is it my turbos that have gone or could it be the pcv system? Or , hopefully, something even easier to fix. The problem just started literally overnight. I had no smoke whatsoever then suddenly it was smoking like a bingo playin chain smoker! Big deep breath bef…

Whilst dismantling a new breaker I chanced across one HUGE induction kit, not seen one with such a large intake pipe before, the filter section frame and adaptor section is all alloy and looks very particular to the zed but given the massive intake size I am not sure, looked up ITG and although they have an extensive range the one they list for the zed is different, the flow on this will be impressive, good for someone with big power in mid I guess. After a little deliberation I have decided on a slight modification to my ZX....... ......so following a conversation with Mike at MJP this morning, I have ordered a Stillen Type III front bumper lip!! It should be here in about 5-6 weeks; I can't wait to get it fitted now as I think it will enhance the car's appearance, yet keep the stock look that I love. Plus it is half the cost of a 99-spec front bumper and less common in the UK...!! Richard:yes:
