Boost leaks are part and parcel of zed ownership and one of the most common causes of erratic running issues. When refitting any hard pipes its essential they make good sound seal and are fully tightened up, the turbo side pipes are very often the culprits but on this particular occasion ot was the outer intercooler to turbo pipe that had been fitted wrongly at some time. The faulty fitting had inverted the rubber pipe into the steel section and was causing a massive leak, the pipe been semi hard rubber needed to be warmed for a few seconds with a heat gun to return its former shape before refitting, and soon all was as it should be. Jeff TT turbo …

Wheel nut removal hell Had a zed in whilst the owner waited for us to look at a nosiy front suspension, the car had been looked at previously at another garage and the wheels removed and refitted. Unfortunately they had clearly used an air gun to tighten the wheel nuts, they were solid! managed to coax three off but two were not for budging. Eventually with the largest breaker bar we had the nuts sheered off! not good but at least we had access to drill them out then, 2 hours to be honest of a ball ache job, the main issue to not damage the alloys. After they were released we had to refit new studs which was the easy bit, once done all was as it …

  9. I've never studied the underside of standard Z32 seats, but hoping someone else can advise... I have a pair of bucket seats chucked in the back of the garage, and also a pair of manual Z32 front seats. I really like the leather seats but I dont mind having some lightweight interior that I can throw in when I want to be dragging round less weight.... So here's the seats: and heres the bottom of them, already got 'some' rails fitted (not sure what they are from! Do you think I can fit these seats/rails to the Z32 rails somehow and what would it take to mount them? Any assistance gratefully received! :cowboy:

Each time I jack Zed up at the fount, no matter how central the jack is, the front right wheel always comes up an inch or so off the ramp before the left side. Once I have settled her onto axle stands, again equally spaced, the left rear side of the car is noticeably lower. (between an 1" and 2"') at a guess. (as viewed from the back.) Any suggestions peep's

Ten of the Best X1 is happening on the 27th and 28th July http://www.totb.co.uk/ I have already entered and I am really optimistic to do well this year :) When you add it all up it's the most perfect event for any driver who truly wants to find out how good they or their car is. It costs a measly £100 for the entire weekend!!!! That could mean at least 20 runs on the quarter plus the top speed runs. That could easily mean 20 sessions on the handling circuit over the two days. That's including camping for the weekend!!! So instead of measuring your performance in cyberland by showing your dyno graph or the amount of mods you've done this is the …

been trawling recently, just being nosey as we all do, and i dunno about the rest of you but ive noticed a severve reduction in the amount of 1000-1500 zeds. infact to find a tt under 1k now seems to require buying one someones broken. and the average price for a half decent example is around 3.5 to 4 at present. it may be premarture, and also you have to take into account are these cars selling, blah blah. but i think what we are seeing a slight rise in zed prices. guess we shall have to keep watching this space, but it does have to happen at some point the dross will all get scrapped and the quality will shine through with a higher price :)

Had my NA on ebay. I thougth id give it one go on there. If it sold, id buy a TT, if it didn't, i'd convert mine. Had a couple of silly offers (As you do on ebay!). I had an offer that was a bit less than i wanted, but wasn't silly, so i counter offered £1500 (was up for £2000). He came today, and loved it. Id told him all about the TT bumper and the fact that the fresh paint was the wrong shade, and he was still happy to drive 2.5 hours to see it. Decent test drive later, and the money was in my pocket. Im 50/50 with it. I know it'll be a lot less hassle to buy a TT, than convert mine. But now im tasked with trying to find a Manual TT thats in as good a …
