Seems to be running rich too but also doesn't seem balanced either and if you try to drive it just holds back badly and wont accelerate. Its as if its running out of fuel.

I'm sure someone will reply soon....

 

it would be helpful if you could list the checks and things you have done so that people don't just tell you to do things again.....

 

by the way i know the exact same feeling about the M7 Supra... lol... loved the car hate the engine... I had three BHG's... juck!!!!

 

lots of threads on here about checking all the connectors you can find... check each of the injectors & coil-packs one at a time, unplug the MAF see if that makes a difference.

check the right voltage on the TPS and confirm the correct timing (with a timing light).

Do a pressure test on the induction system.

what plugs are in it and how old are they, also fuel filter.... that should help to rule out some stuff...

The maf has been replaced with a new one as thats what i thought was the problem at first.

Replaced the vacum hoses on the boost controler as these were perished as were a lot of the others

The balance tube had a bolt snapped off in it so that has been removed/ retapped and a new bolt fitted.

There was bad connections on the TPS they were green and hanging on by one shred of wire these have been replaced also.

 

It does seem like an air leak but i've not known an air leak make it undrivable due to having no power feeling like it has no fuel.

agreed, but it could still be a combination of things... as you said it looks like the car needs a lot of attention so you have to keep checking everything and get rid of any/all little issues as well.

Conzult isn't the be-all end-end all for your issues, particularly if you have the free version... keep going with the other checks. :)

If the car has been stood for a good while i would try fresh fuel, as going by the gauge there isnt a lot in it.Modern fuel doesnt keep like it used to, and goes stale.

 

oil pressure looked low as well, or is that just the gauge?

agreed... and a high ron as well... at least use the 97... my car won't run on normal unleaded... (as i assume with lots others on here)...

The car is low on fuel but whats in there is only a week old and its optimax or what ever shell call it now. The oil gauge doesn't work properly someone put in indiglo gauges and in the process borked the speedo/ Boost gauge and the oil pressure gauge. I have another clock set on order on ebay. Im sure theres another air leak somewhere for the uneven idle. Will test the injectors and coil packs at the weekend weather permitting.

for the vac / pressure test... the budget method....

Bit of an update .. The weather has bee crap at best so not much has been done. Found damaged wiring on the temp sensor on the front of the engine, so i have replaced this. I was unsure of the condition of the PTU so i sourced one i know works and fitted that.

It now starts fine and idles ok till it gets up to temprature when it begins reving up and down, There is also a little smoke from the exhaust when it does this on the left side. So i guess my problem is there somewhere. Been out this evening and had it running and lagged every air pipe i could see in WD40 to try and find an airleak but no Joy.
