My car seems to be starting misfiring. At low revs it pops and gurgles. Not all the time, more when its cold, but I havent noticed it happening over 2500rpm. I have new plugs on, only about 1,000miles old. Could it be one of the coils dieing? Or the PTU? Stuart

Yo Smithy, Got the A-Pillar and the Indicators through the post. Fitted the indicators, it needed a bit of modifying though to get the bulb holder to fit, had to cut a third lip into the round opening, as the bulb holder had 3 prongs on it not two. Must be a difference between Uk spec and Jap. But once fitted it looks the bollox!, makes the car look more modern instead of the horriable taxi cab amber Lenses. I would definitly recommend them to anyone. Oh yeah when do you reckon the Apexi induction Kit and Autometer Gauges will arrive. Cheers Mark

Last post for today - honest! My TT is an import and I got no manual with it. Can someone tell me exactly what the various gearbox settings do?? It seems to me that the overdrive being off puts it in a lower gear higher up the revs. Logically the power setting would give greater power at the expense of fuel (?) but the hold setting is a complete mystery to me....? Please enlighten me!! What are the best settings for beating 5.5L Mercs away from the lights (sore point!) and economy (LOL!) Cheers, RobH

Hi just working on very nice Jap imort car for a customer and whilst doing several jobs have been asked to investigate suspension noise.Well this motor has had some serious height adjustable struts/shocks fitted at some time but unbelievable has not only been assembled wrong this car has been the subject of MOT`s and not been noticed, in the pic I have arrowes the problem, no spring location plated fitted so spring is not retained except by the compressed weight of the car, when going over good bumps or bridges or in fact jacking up the spring moves place at the top and gives a nasty scrapping sound, just shows be careful out there and Mot`s are not to be taken as a full …

I was cleaning out my 300 for the first time since buying it in November, I took out the passenger side matt when I noticed the footwell carpet was velcro'd to a wooden panel. I didn't have a screwdriver on me at the time, so I didn't open it. Is this panel normal ? and what is behind it ? Am I likely to find a 1K block of coke when the car was used for smuggling ? Herman

Hi All, I've got a Blitz induction kit on order and want to mod the exhaust to get the full benefit. The car has done less than 60K. My standard exhausts are good so I don't want to replace them at present. The car is a 1990 so should be OK to have the cat removed - (?) Question 1. Will this fail an MOT emissions test? Question 2. Will the increased boost blow the turbos to bits without a boost controller? Question 3. Is it going to make it a lot louder? Question 4. Is it going to make my fuel economy even more shocking? Question 5. Does anyone have a good insurer that will insure for further mods? N.U will allow my mods for an increased premium but draw the …

Hi, I have a bit of a problem with the vinyl around the Windscreen vent - it seems to have buckled, exposing the foam/wood underneath for it's entire length :-(. Has anyone else had this problem/got a fix...? Cheers, RobH

After 3 months trying to fix an ECU failure-code 13, having thought it was a Temp. Sensor issue, I've now been informed that it's 90% likely to be a failed Power Transistor Unit. Does anyone have one for sale? Preferably the later model... Thanx, Drew

OK a question for the techy gurus out there. I want to know what I do next to get some more power. Here is what I have done so far. Sport 500 Turbos, 555 injectors and a JWT ECU mapped to match the new turbos and injectors. When the supplied boost jets were fitted the engine ran very badly so were removed and the engine is seemingly now running at 14.5psi. It has been suggested that the best thing to do is to have a boost controller fitted to do the work of the boost jets that JWT supplied. Is this correct or what course of action would be better? ------------------ John Newcomb www.geocities.com/jn300zxtt

Just read an article in EVO magazine about the Lotus 340R. The radiator failed just out of warranty - £220 for a replacement but to fit it the whole body has to come off. £750 labour! The dealer said the biggest joke is replacing the battery - £60 for the battery and the same £750 labour to swap it!! LOL There's also the company long-term test Ferrari 355 which has cost close to £6K in the last 2 months. My Z is so cheap to run! LOL [This message has been edited by ChrisC (edited 08-04-2002).]

After some research I think I have found the problem to my uneven tyre wear. Could old sagging springs, still the original ones I think, cause tyres to wear out one of the wheel. Any ideas on the cost of new ones? Any ideas for upgrades? CheerZ Stuart
