General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I think it's time to change all my shox and I wanted to know if I'm right in saying that Tokico are the only ones that keep the electonic rear actuators working? If that's the case, can I get adjustable ones? If I go with a different make, what happens to these actuators? are they just disconnected? Thanks Vijay

I find that if I cane it the heat can make the oil break down and am worried. I know there are many factors that contribute to the oil breaking down and losing its durability but how often should I change it? For instance if I cook fish fingers then there are lots of particles left over that foul the oil and ruin my chips. If I use it for just chips its ok for at least 3 months but if I use it for trackday chicken burgers and sausages it smokes alot. I never realised it would take so much maintenence and am seriously considering selling it and buying a steamer. What do you think? ------------------ ->Glen

does anyone know of a garage/unit/lockup that's for hire in the northwest uk region? I need a place with a crane or winch. I'll only need it for a weekend to pull my engine and fix an oil and manifold leak. I'm sick of waiting for a mate to clear his unit up. Cheers in advance.

guys my z boost gauge is on zero when idle? i know ive got safety boost on.... once rectified will the boost needle go back to -14? if not what would this indicate? cheers jaz

Hi peeps Switched my air conditioning on today and all was fine. Suddenly loud groaning and vibrating sound and sounded like a bag of bolts knocking under the car! Switched it off and all was fine..car ticked over and drove smoothly and quietly. Now everytime I switch my heater on it rumbles and vibrates. Switch it off and everything fine. Car drives great still but can't demist the car and it's a nightmare! Any suggestions as it sounds like the engine is gonna blow up when I need my demister/air con! Thanks in advance. Stu Leicester

my rear spoiler is a bit tatty as well as my back bumper and a few other spots around the car from general wear and tear, I have always had a thing for dark blueish colours, how much should i expect for a colour change on my zed?

Bonjour all, I've just got me first 300(I've been wanting one for yonks) and I've got a few teething problems. Firstly she seems to be leaking from the cooling system, causing overheating!!! Also, the motor for the electric window (pass. side) has decided to pack up and Nissan want £295 + vat the thieving B******S!! Can anyone help! Also she's in need of a good service by someone who knows their stuff. I'm in the Slough area, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be made up! After last nights escapade i think i need to get some breakdown recovery. I know this was mentioned in a prevoius thread, are AA the best or are there some bargains around like Direct line and Green Flag or are they crap.

Just been speaking to Johnny at GPS about springs for 300's, as I am now an official 'Johnny's Bitch' he is organising a group buy for the Blitz springs. The price is an unbelieveable £185 all in reduced from £247. Sounds pretty good to me. We need atleast 5 people to get these prices so let him know by 21st Aug for this group buy.

I need a new exhaust as mine has 2 huge holes before the back boxes. I'm having the same rear end kit as K4SH and after looking at his exhaust with the 6 inch pipes I'm thinking of doing the same. I looked under his car and couldn't see any back boxes?!? Anyone know if this is right? I also want to remove the cats. Has anyone got a straight through pipe from in front of the cats right back with no silencers? With the holes in mine it effectively doesn't have them anyway so I don't think it would be too much louder? Should be very cheap too if it's just a piece of piep with a 6 inch trim welded on. Any ideas?

'written off my zed' is officially top banana! Called him asked for a PTU and a coilpack, cant ask for the wrong thing! Great price too then, it turns out he is coming up my way on wednesday to go to a funeral (sorry about the funeral, hope ur not too gloomy when we see you), anyway hes gonna bring the parts with him. Saving us a trip down to somerset. GREAT!! So fingers crossed we will put the parts on the motor and it will be firing on all cylinders and working better than ever!
