Its just hit me, with the help of Vodka and RedBull and smokies - I've sold my Zed

 

Its sat in my garage looking like the bitch of a car it is - menacing, evil and unique.

Zeds look better, are cheaper and one holds the record for a FE/RWD car (>260mph).

Well i do because not only have i driven both but i have OWNED both. YES i used to own a n plate R-33 GTR V-SPEC. To tell you the truth it was no where near as fun as my first zed which i sold for the skyline and it didnt look as nice. YES its a fookin good car but they are totally different machines in many respects. If the skyline was a better car then i WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE after some twat caused me a big accident! Guess what................i didnt buy another one i bought another zed because in my opinion- which may i add is more valid than yours a) because i am OLD enough to drive and b) because i have owned and extensively driven both cars- the zed is a better car for my needs.

Anyway i find you seem to be a bit of a traitor all the time blowing sunshine up the arsse of the 300zx then saying its basically a pile of dog poop compaired to a skyline which i may add has a SHITE BOX interior copared to the zed.

 

Im sorry if i have offended you i dont mean to but your comment was not really valid as you have no hands on experience of either car.

 

When jeremy clarkson for example road tests a car (JC-The car god-great comidian-incredibly literate clever and articulate) he doesent sit in the bloody passenger seat and let somebody else drive it and say- "ooooh this feels nice what do u think?" does he??!!!

I know we haven't agreed on 100% everything b4 (and it would be boring if we did) but on this one, you're spot on.

The fact is ive never even sat in a skyline. But I really liked what I saw at billing. The cars look like a proper beast from the outside. I didnt see the interior. And I was impressed when I saw 3 big men climb out of one. Could you do that in a zed?? could you bollocks!

The fact is the skyline looks good, is very quick as standard and has the legendary RB26, which is undoubtedly a better engine than the VG30 in that for less money you can get more power. Please do not have a row about the RB26 vs VG30 I can do without it.

 

The fact is I said that because I know glen likes R33's, but is losing confidence that its what he wants. I thought a comment like that would make him feel better about the swap. OR is that not OK? Do you have to start an arguement about anything I say?

 

Next time can you keep your big mouth shut and keep the peace PLEASE!!!

Other than the fact that ATESSA keeps you out of the hedge at 80mph the Skyline and the 300zx are pretty much equal, funny really as I have driven both too.... but I own neither

People on here love their cars and have spent a lot of money on it then you come with your opinions, when you have never even seen inside of a Skyline let alone driven one. Its an insult to them and all thier time, money and effort they put into thier Z's. You cant just go off how the cars are on GT3 .

 

As for getting people in a Z, I have got 3 others in my car including 6'4" person and a 6'1" in the back.

 

You maybe trying to make Glenn feel better about selling is Z, but its his choice, and hes a grown man, I think he can handle it. And there are better ways to make him feel better, other than calling all the Z owners cars Inferior to a Skyline!

i bought mine because 13 years after they were introduced the motoring press etc, still say are one of the best handling cars ever to come out of japan!!!!!!

and in my opinion its just the skyline is easier to drive flat out than the 300 not that its any quicker in real life!!!!

Glen, you sold it cos you want a change, the Skylark may be far more suited to IOW than the Zed and therefore be more fun on those roads, if it's not what you expected just sell it and get another Zed, I imagine the R33 will hold better value than the Zeds so you might not even lose on it.

Trouble will be to find another Zed as nice as yours.

I had a play in a Skyline GTR a few months ago around Millbrook... quite fun, liked it.. prefer my Z over it, and the Z's got the £'s in it's favour.. can't *afford* a GTR!

 

But then again I have almost no taste.. I still cite the Audi S8 as some of the most fun I've had in a car (that involved driving).
