does anybody know!:)

hi,

just wondered if anyone could explain these boost jets as i cannot get my head round how they work,

right bear with me, i've had a turbo car before and when i got that chipped it was fitted with a bleed valve to fool the wastegate into thinking it was at a lower boost than it actually was..(by bleeding off some of the boost)

right, but with these boost jets i can see there would be a restriction initially resulting in higher boost, but over a period of time the pressures would stablize either side of the jet, which would mean a drop off in boost back to standard?????????

sorry but just can't seem to get my head round the idea thats all. hope you can help me out on this one as nowhere as any understandable info! frown.gif

The way the boost jets work, as far as I can work out, is due to the way the boost solenoids work on the VG30. When the solenoid is closed, aka safety boost, the wastegate actuators are directly connected to the intake. When the solenoid opens, it adds a t connection into the sytem which bleeds a small amount of the wastegate signal into the low pressure side of the turbo. This means that an extra 2 psi is required on the intake to poen the wastegate actuators....

Now that is out of the way... The boost jets work because there is extra restriction in the intake feed to the actuator, so more of the actuator 'signal' will get bled away and will not be able to build up.... This is soooo hard to describe really...
