Right Then - Here's A Problem For You Techie's To Sort Out.....

Most know of my breakdown on the way to Billing on Sunday but I shall explain.....

I was on the A45 just gone off a roundabout onto the dual carridge way and I saw plenty white smoke billowing out from the back of my Z (at this point filled my pants!) pulled over onto grass verge then popped bonnet, lifted it and more white smoke (was actually at this point waiting for flames!!) Jacked the car up and spotted fliud coming from what looked like the front of the geabox, checked the road and there was loads of fluid on the road which was transmission fluid.

The smoke was caused by the fluid landing on the hot Zorst and cooking, hence the big plumes and oily covering on the rear of my Z.

Can't tell if it is the seal or something else but the fluid didn't drip out it pissed out very quickly hence the pools on the road and the grass verge.... frown.gif

I need your opinions on what it could be....

The box works ok as I had to park it when I got home (about 5 seconds in reverse) and was smooth as anything. So I have my fingers crossed something came loose and dumped the fluid.....there was still some in there but it now is residing on my road!!

There is a possibility that it's one of the pipes going to/from the cooler. This happened to mine and the fluid pumps out at a hell of a rate. However, as there is about 10 litres in there then you can loose quite a few liters before it stops working altogether.

must be somthing in the air, this happened to me on monday....

i reversed off the drive to see a big puddle of transmission fluid on the floor... bummer, ive had it carted away for repair..

its getting inspected to see what damage has been done (if any).

Ive also been advised of the best case and worst case scenario prices... i'm keeping my fingers crossed , but with my luck lately i know its gonna cost.......

bummer matey i know how you feel.

As Andy says, it could be one of the rubber hoses has come off or is leaking somewhere.

Did you check the dipstick of the box ? it could have come out slightly and caused the leak through there.
