so i bought some targa blinds from a jap 2+2 zed and they dont fit! they measure 15.5 by 22 inches. my targa roof along the front edge as you look up from the drivers seat (edge that runs from left to right and mates with the windscreen edge) has a thick plastic strip runnning along it, on both screens. this strip sticks out and the blind wont is too long and overlaps this strip so the blinds cannot hten be attached. it appears that (if you made sense of my description) i need targa blinds that are 15.5 by 20 inches! does anyone else have these plastic strips on their targa roofs?

This is through no choice of my own by the way. I bought a pipe radiator heat sink and fan and use premium silver heat sink compound. However the heatsink was too big an left wouldnt fit becuase my PSU was in the way. So I took out the PSU and put it on top of the computer to leave room and then just needing a larger case. Anyway, the PSU didnt last long and went POP in a very big way. So now I needed a PSU and a case. I went to Scan and bought a lovley all aluminium, with a hit of carbon, case and a 350WATT PSU. The case has 3 large extracting fans inside to get a nice air flow going and they have filters to keep out all the dust. The result is, after £120 on cas…

Hi All, Spoke to a guy at the local tyre/exhaust place about decatting my front pipes. He started umming and arring about pipe diameter and lambda sensors. Two questions: 1. What diameter are the stock front pipes on a 1990 Jap auto? 2. Is any special consideration needed for the lambda sensors or will the engine management compensate for them being disconnected? 3. Ooops, I know I said two - I seem to remember somebody mentioning some hoses running from the pipes - what are they and can they be blanked off?? 4. (taking the p*** now!) has anyone got any aftermarket decat pipes for sale?? Cheers!! RobH

I got my JWT ECU at the same time as the new JWT turbos/injectors were bought so the programming was done by JWT to match that setup. Since then I will have added decat pipes, larger intercoolers, boost controller (instead of JWT supplied boost jets) and I am running on Optimax fuel. Finally the engine was replaced with one from a manual UK 1994 car, the original was an auto Jap import 1991. 1. Do I need to get the JWT chip re-programmed and can a good UK tuner do this to the JWT chip or does it have to go back to JWT? 2. To save this happening again would I be better off replacing the JWT chip with a Unichip or SE nissan chip and having the chosen new one re…

hi, just wondered if anyone could explain these boost jets as i cannot get my head round how they work, right bear with me, i've had a turbo car before and when i got that chipped it was fitted with a bleed valve to fool the wastegate into thinking it was at a lower boost than it actually was..(by bleeding off some of the boost) right, but with these boost jets i can see there would be a restriction initially resulting in higher boost, but over a period of time the pressures would stablize either side of the jet, which would mean a drop off in boost back to standard????????? sorry but just can't seem to get my head round the idea thats all. hope you can help me out…

Just gotme a 300ZX Fairlady import on a G plate. Wanted one 4 a while, redundancy made it possible !!(at the moment). Having trouble finding my way around all the controls so looking 4 a handbook/manual/CD or whatever. Need simple info such as should the interior lights come on when doors open? How does climate control work? etc etc. Enjoying the site banter and looking forward to a meet sometime.

1. The turbo's on Auto's are T2's while those on manuals are T2.5's right ? Is it possible to fit T2.5's on an Auto ? 2. What are the largest turbo's you can fit on 300's ? 3. Do stock turbo's have ceramic blades ? 4. Do ball-bearings make much difference and how expensive are they - what stage of moddying do they come in at ?

Anyone fancy going to the National Autograss Championships in Tenby, South West Wales this weekend? The top 400 autograss cars in the country will be there, and one eventual champion will emerge Big V8 minis, 4 litre Peugeot 205s, 7 litre home built specials that weigh virtually nothing totally sideways on dirt, awesome! Here are some pictures stolen from the official website of last year's event Its about a fiver to get in each day and there's a beer tent too http://www.autograssracing.co.uk for more details I shall be driving up in the Z, don't think it would stand much of a chance on the track though LOL

Most know of my breakdown on the way to Billing on Sunday but I shall explain..... I was on the A45 just gone off a roundabout onto the dual carridge way and I saw plenty white smoke billowing out from the back of my Z (at this point filled my pants!) pulled over onto grass verge then popped bonnet, lifted it and more white smoke (was actually at this point waiting for flames!!) Jacked the car up and spotted fliud coming from what looked like the front of the geabox, checked the road and there was loads of fluid on the road which was transmission fluid. The smoke was caused by the fluid landing on the hot Zorst and cooking, hence the big plumes and oily covering…

Jeff, Tried to call you a few times today about you coming over to look at my Z, no answer. I guess your busy. I'll leave this here so you can catch it when you have time. Let me know what the situation is as I need my Z on the road ASAP and really need to know what the problem is too as I am stressing my nuts off over it! Cheers, Matty. ------------------

I think it's time to change all my shox and I wanted to know if I'm right in saying that Tokico are the only ones that keep the electonic rear actuators working? If that's the case, can I get adjustable ones? If I go with a different make, what happens to these actuators? are they just disconnected? Thanks Vijay

I find that if I cane it the heat can make the oil break down and am worried. I know there are many factors that contribute to the oil breaking down and losing its durability but how often should I change it? For instance if I cook fish fingers then there are lots of particles left over that foul the oil and ruin my chips. If I use it for just chips its ok for at least 3 months but if I use it for trackday chicken burgers and sausages it smokes alot. I never realised it would take so much maintenence and am seriously considering selling it and buying a steamer. What do you think? ------------------ ->Glen

does anyone know of a garage/unit/lockup that's for hire in the northwest uk region? I need a place with a crane or winch. I'll only need it for a weekend to pull my engine and fix an oil and manifold leak. I'm sick of waiting for a mate to clear his unit up. Cheers in advance.

Hi peeps Switched my air conditioning on today and all was fine. Suddenly loud groaning and vibrating sound and sounded like a bag of bolts knocking under the car! Switched it off and all was fine..car ticked over and drove smoothly and quietly. Now everytime I switch my heater on it rumbles and vibrates. Switch it off and everything fine. Car drives great still but can't demist the car and it's a nightmare! Any suggestions as it sounds like the engine is gonna blow up when I need my demister/air con! Thanks in advance. Stu Leicester
