Suspension Bits wanted

I'm after the following bits for my 1990 N/A import. I think I'm right in saying that all these are the same for all models...

1)Front passanger side Tension Rod with bush

2)Front drivers side upper link arm and bolts

I'm also after the following if anyone has got 'em:

Black leather steering wheel without cruise buttons on it (off import)

Black Leather shift knob

Speedo face in MPH for N/A (without the turbo gauge at the bottom)

If they are in excellent condition good prices will be paid. Either post on here or e-mail me with the cost inc P+P within the UK.

Thanks

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Just a word of advise, when replacing the tension rod bushes or indeed the entire tension rod, it is highly adviseable to change both sides of the car at the same time. Replacing only one will throw the handling out of wack as the unchanged bush will be of inferior quality than the new one. I've recently changed the original graphite filled bushes for new polyurethane bushes (bought them off Luke at the ZCentre - see details under the "Z" logo - contacts). The difference in handling is definitely noticeable. The replacement bushes cost about £60 for a set of two.

As for the steeringwheel and instrument cluster - your best bet is to go to a breakers like IntaParts in Daventry. Expect to pay around £100 for the instrument cluster.

I'm sorry I haven't got any of the bits you need but hope this has helped none the less.

Regards,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you tell me if changing the bushes was a major problem and what tools did you need? The reason why I'm asking is that I was originally going to change just the bushes but I was told by the garage that I took the car into that it was likely to cost more in labour than buying a complete new tension rod because they would be "pressed in"

Its only the bush that has gone and if its not a major pain I'd rather just upgrade both sides with the ones from Luke.

Thanks

Hello Steve,

they are real easy to do. All you need is a large vice to press them in.

Where abouts are you?

Cheers for the info....I think I will go for the replacement bushes.

I'm in Warrington Cheshire...I've a Black Jap 1990 import N/A 2 seater. Got it for a bargin price but needs a few small bits doing to it (nothing major thankfully as I got a RAC check when I bought it a couple of months back)

I've had a company car these last 12 years (all crappy mondeo types) so never really looked at these 300's properly. The last car I owned was a 1980 280zx and that was what pushed me into buying one of these beauties...lol

If you do a search, there was a post a while back which showed how to do it. You basically cut through the old one with a hacksaw, clean it up then squash the new one in. It's a bit fidly, but use some washing up liquid and it will pop in.

Good luck,

Vijay
