Turbo sizes and specs ?

1. The turbo's on Auto's are T2's while those on manuals are T2.5's right ? Is it possible to fit T2.5's on an Auto ?

2. What are the largest turbo's you can fit on 300's ?

3. Do stock turbo's have ceramic blades ?

4. Do ball-bearings make much difference and how expensive are they - what stage of moddying do they come in at ?

Thanx. Just bought and read most of the 300ZX Enthusiasts Companion.

It seems that the engines are so complicated that modifying them is a task only for very skilled and knowledgeable geezers. As people here have said, in the UK probably only up to Stage 2/3 is best for reliability/longevity of engine.

The questions, like many of my others, are not necessarily due to a real desire to upgrade, just thinking about the possibilities.

hi

the problem is that people are obsessed with max power, when i truth its the power delivery that count its nice to have whup arse turbos but how often do you(can you) drive flat out to get the benefits

go for torque not bhp, torque is the main drive force, bhp is just a by product!!!!!!!

FRESH WORMS,JUST OPENED A NEW CAN!!!!!

Isn't torque (rotational energy) directly related to the power of an engine and the gearing ?

Not arguing with you, just trying to understand.

ello,

bhp=torque x revs and yes it is affected by gearing usually increased which can only be a good thing biggrin.gif

Is this a good example ? Lightening the flywheel (outer part is best) means more rotational energy (torque) from the engine without any extra engine power.

sorry this is going to get confusing!!!!!!!

yes it does work very well, but you gain in acceleration bhp(torque) which is different to constant loading power/torque

dont ask me to explain because i'm not fully there yet myself but getting closer all the time smile.gif smile.gif wink.gif

.
