was at a set of lights next to a WRX, lights went green, i raised the clutch and it just slip unable to get grip on the flywheel whilst the scooby went off, clutch finally locked on, by which time the scooby was in front of me by 1/2 car length..but not for long, got upto 60ish (i think) and just flew by him leaving him for dust . we got to the next set of lights and again, i mullered him up a long straight. we stopped in a lay by further up the road for a chat, and his car was a 94 WRX import, was debadged and still limited to 112mph, very nice nik and all that. i was running 1bar boost and was suprised by how much i took him to pieces . my friend has a normal scooby…

JPerf just landed on the doormat. Noticed that next month's issue includes a 300ZX Buyer's Guide and Tuning Tips. So I suggest that if you want to get your opinions heard, contact them sooner rather than later! Hi all, Before I bite the bullet an buy a Zed, I want to check its going to fit in my garage for insurance (& winter morning) reasons. The Autocar dimensions state a 300 is 1800mm wide, which give me about 70mm clearance through the door. I'm not sure this includes the wing mirrors though, so I was hoping someone might now what the overall width is with the mirros folded (if they do??). Thanks.

The car is running fine BUT one of the two fans (the small one from the air filters side) will not stop after ignition is switched off. I know that, when hot, some fans do run after ign off for some while but mine didn’t stop after 5 mins so I had to disconnect my battery not to go flat. The next morning the fan came back on when I connected the mains again? Is this a faulty sensor and if yes where is it so I can find it and kill it. What is that fans job since the radiators fan is the big one from the engines side?

Hi Glen, Can you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you god Is the Skyline better than that nice black Z you sold? Faster than that nice black Z you sold? Or do you wish you never sold it? Reason I ask Glenski is that Latz has both, and much preferes the Z. ------------------ KEEP IT SIDEWAYS;).

i want to improve the power of my zx, its a twin turbo auto. whats the best ways to do this, exhaust and air filter will be comin soon, but what after that? boost controllers? chip? or something else? also what type of power and prices am i lookin at. i most probably start with all the cheap mods first, or is it advisable to do it differently.

Just started my Z up at PPS after having the new exhaust fitted from Grasshopper/JP Exhausts. It has a great burble at tickover and is fookin loud and raspy with the pedal down Custom made with whatever back boxes/tips you want for about the same price as a Mongoose. Must be the first time it's been started in about 4 months and it fired up with a flick of the key [This message has been edited by ChrisC (edited 14-09-2002).]

Just had a new zorst fitted but the guy who did it couldn't remove the Cat temp sensors so he cut the wires... I thought it was best to just tuck the sensors away but is it OK if they have been chopped off? I've removed the bulb from the warning light on the dash but do these sensors have any effect on the engine?

Hi , Need some help or even advise, bought some speakers for the back of the car (JBL’s GTO 935E 300w 6”x 9”) that sounded really good in the shop. Because the original speakers had blown I thought it would be quit ease to fit these seeing every one else has. Shock horror when I saw the small space, now I know there’s some work to be done. Because I haven’t got the time just now, I thought I would just plug the new speakers in and stick them in the corner of the boot for now, but they sound really bad in fact they sound really sh**ty. Now that I’ve told you all this, is it because I haven’t positioned them properly or that they are 300w’s and the system I have is a …

who reckons the roof of the 300 could have been made a little lower ? I am just over 6 foot tall and my head is nowhere near the roof of the car. Would a lower roof have made the car look sexier ? Most other top sports cars seem to have roofs significantly lower.

Any of you lot in the 'institute of advanced motorists?' If so do you get any benefits, 'cos i've heard it could knock £££'s of the insurance. Tooley needn't apply as he cant even keep it in a straight line. lol ;-)
