When trying to attach my manual box to the car after replacing everything bar the kitchen sink under my car, I get to within an inch or so of the block and no further. I've installed a pilot bushing into the back of my crank, but in hitting it in it seems to have shrunk a little?!?! I've measured the inside of the pilot bushing and it's now 1/2mm smaller than the input shaft on the gearbox?!?! I'm now stumped, has anyone else come across this. (i'm converting from an auto to a manual) Cheers. ------------------ 'I hope I die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather and not like his passengers....'

Just a quick, one, I'm still newish to the world of the 300zx and I've been given big recommendations by everbody silvia engineering and quality of workmanship.. now I'm on the brink of letting AbbeyMotorsport (HKS) start tuning the car, but I'm now wondering if silvia is a better route? Opinions please? Also where abouts are they and does anybody have contact details for them? website seems to be gone?

Well done to John Nukem yesterday at Santa Pod.. did you get your confirmation of that time you destroyed Colin at!? Last I saw Colin had clocked 13.13 secs (standing 1/4), and John's rolled in at 12.something?!? Sadly I turned up late and couldn't get a race pass.. next meet is 6th october.. but highly recommend it to anybody who didn't make this weekend.. be there early (8:00am) if you want to get a race pass though..

hi matey, got a prob with my zed - full post in tech. basically shes gone dead flat under acceleration. 1 poss i thought of is AFM on its way out, which i believe happened to u recently. i know yours diddnt rev at all, did you get any faults leading up to that or did it just happen straight away??? cheerz Paul ------------------ I feel the need, the need for speed!

hi guys, got a prob with the zed. under hard acceleration shes gone quite flat, doesnt pick up as well as it used to. also not as smooth. under 1/2 throttle theres no noticable difference. it doesnt miss at all, just flat. new plugs ptu, all connections cleaned, no faults in ecu. only mod is cone filter so far. my initial thoughts are collapsed cats/exhaust - will check this when my new mongoose sys turns up. or AFM not giving correct readings. anyone had similar probs?? ------------------ I feel the need, the need for speed!

Hi i recently got my car checked as it was jerky whilst driving and i got told that the oxygen sensor on the RHS of the car is knackered. The geezer told me to change both of them, he said he would do the full job for £370. Question: is this steep for 2 new sensors and fitting?? Where are these sensors located?? How long do they take change?? Can i refurbish these things myself, if so how??

This poor N/A 2+2 has seen better days: Apart from the front damage the Autobox has gone south and the heater core leaks so has been disconnected. So this Z(which was in very good condition) has sat at its resting place for a good few weeks . Stats: 1989 2+2 N/A Auto(which needs replacing). Approx 71000 miles. Leather seats(Driver side bolster worn/split). Good condition paint, no rust on rear arches. Interior trim in very good condition(steering wheel hardly marked, Handbrake leather unworn etc). The owner wants to sell it in its current state - how much do you think this would be worth, bearing in mind you'd …

was at a set of lights next to a WRX, lights went green, i raised the clutch and it just slip unable to get grip on the flywheel whilst the scooby went off, clutch finally locked on, by which time the scooby was in front of me by 1/2 car length..but not for long, got upto 60ish (i think) and just flew by him leaving him for dust . we got to the next set of lights and again, i mullered him up a long straight. we stopped in a lay by further up the road for a chat, and his car was a 94 WRX import, was debadged and still limited to 112mph, very nice nik and all that. i was running 1bar boost and was suprised by how much i took him to pieces . my friend has a normal scooby…

JPerf just landed on the doormat. Noticed that next month's issue includes a 300ZX Buyer's Guide and Tuning Tips. So I suggest that if you want to get your opinions heard, contact them sooner rather than later! Editor: Martin Vincent e-mail jap@chpltd.com tel/fax 01491 639393 Be nice Remember, good PR for the car and forum members will help a) attract more forum members and b) keep the car desirable - which is nice whether you own one or want to sell one. Hi all, Before I bite the bullet an buy a Zed, I want to check its going to fit in my garage for insurance (& winter morning) reasons. The Autocar dimensions state a 300 is 1800mm wide, which give me about 70mm clearance through the door. I'm not sure this includes the wing mirrors though, so I was hoping someone might now what the overall width is with the mirros folded (if they do??). Thanks.
