General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Am I right in thinking that there are basically 2 camps here - those that want to mod the car as much as they can afford to get the most out of it, and those that think the car as stock is hardly worth tinkering with because it took so much development that any 'tinkering/modding' will probably lead to problems/changes which you wouldn't suspect/envisage/want ? MY standpoint is probably somewhere in the middle of these exteme views. Be interested to hear people's thoughts...

Hello guys, Just want to know if there's anyway I cay spray bitz pearl white myself. I've got a spray shop that makes up all auto paint, but how easy is it to actually do things in pearl? Thanks Vijay

Right, so I've dumped the plastic plate piece and cut the front plate down to illegal proportions, and attached it to the bottom piece of the front skirt. It slopes back slightly. Not sure if it looks best there yet - neone else done the same ? Am thinking of moving it to the white section below the black piece right on the nose, so that it protrudes over the top section of the lower intake. I'd post a pic, but not taken one yet and haven't attempted [laziness] to master my scanner/posting pics yet.

I was going to use the car for my honeymoon next Monday and Wedding on Sunday, can you help? Can't get the air out, if there is any. Can't take the car on a long trip, clutch disengages when hot. If you happen to have a vacume (pressurised) clutch bleeding kit that works with the 300 and are not to far maybe I can borrow it or come over and use it. Tried many things, stuff I ordered was incorrect etc.

Will the 300zx rims fit a `94 Skyline GTS, if yes then I need a set of wheels and tyres for insurance purposes. Steve

Hi, Heres the problem, gave my Z to my neighbour to fit 2 tyres and when I get it back theres a serious top end rattle/knocking! Not something which has been progressing but which has just suddenly appeared. Dont want to blame the guy as it would likely have happened if I was driving, so we'll put it down to co-incedence. A mate is a master tech for a Peuogot dealer and had a listen last night and he's confirmed it is definately a top end problem, possibly a broken valve spring or a hydraulic lifter problem. Anyone any idea if this could be the case? Is this a common Z problem (mine has done 90K)? If it is a valve spring or lifter, can the repair …

I am having a bit a of a problem with my alarm/mobiliser. Stopped at the garage put in optimax, paid and tried to leave forecourt - but no! I have a cat 1 cobra system, I deactivated alarm with the fob got in car tried ignition - nothing red light comes on when turning switch. There is a second button on the fob (which i thought was for deactivating the imobiliser - i have no manual) - has worked previously - nothing. Fob was working as red light comes on when pressing button. I spent 10 minutes of various combinations of presses and ignition states - nothing. I've got the optional harness and Power Meter which allows me to connect it to 3 DATA inputs from the car. hi guys, ive been trying to do an auto diagnostic but the AT light doesnt flash after i release the accl.... i positive that im doing it right, cos its worked everytime b4?? the AT light 'does' come on for 2 secs in the dash, when i start the car/ignition any of u lads had any probs with this? cheers jaz

Who sells rear shocks cheap. 1990 Jap import Auto( non adjustable types). Want standard Nissan ones if anyone knows who do em apart from robbing Nissan...
