So what are you guys getting with your modded high BHP motors ? Obviously this vastly depends on whether you boot it all the time or drive slower (often traffic dictates this)... So any data ?? Stock TT cars do from ~18 to 25. So what's the range for high BHP (>450) cars ?

Thanks to Jeff TT and Brian Corish for their help today on the phone. After organising babysitters and spending ove 1500 euro on the Z last week getting her(91UK TT with 95K on the clock) ready for holiday to barcelona and south of France, its left me down again, (Tyres, water pump, timing belt, fan belt, fan clutch, new fan shroud, front silicone bush units done last week) Drove 100 miles of the 2200 I was about to do to the Ferry in Roslare to Roscoff. Just before getting to the ferry the Auto Box seemed to be slipping. i.e. when flooring or overtaking she was not redlining ie struggling once at 5500 revs and from then on only creeping up and never kicking dow…

Thought I'd take the airbox off and have a probe around the front end of the engine. Apart from pulling out what seemed to be the remnants of a birds or rodents nest and a mountain of dryed out leafs I looked at the intercooler and it looks like it has been twisted or has warped. Is that normal or should alarm bells be ringing?. Cheers.

I have been Z'less for 4 days and I hated it. I think my car didnt like sitting on the drive not being used, and some of you go months maybe a year with out it. I hardly turned the key to start it and she was running. I dont think it even turned over. Stuart

I have a set of original 300zx alloy wheels for sale from my UK 1993 auto that has just had a new set of alloys put on. 7" front, 8" rear, tyres are 225/50 16 front and 245/45 16 rear. They need a bit of a clean but have virtually no curb damage or anything serious like that. The tyres are still on but have only a small amount of rubber left. Looking for £150 for all four, buyer must collect or pay for postage. Pics can be supplied, can't quite see how to put a picture in this post, if anyone knows, please advise!

This may be classed as a tech question but I dont care. Anyway, radiator leaking so I sent it to get reconditioned. On picking it up I was told the inside of the radiator was filled with rubber Any one have any idea where this could have come from? Is something leaking or braking on my car? Any ideas of what it could be? Stuart

Guys I've got de-cats on my Z but the rear section is a one piece satainless system, custom made by maniflow, and has this big resinator box or something further down the pipes. Although, with the rest of my upgrades, i'm getting closeish to 400BHP - other people with similar mods seem to getting 420 and 430ish BHP!!! with mongooses etc. Just wondering how much difference a new back bit would make? Maybe the boxes are too restrictive or something. Anybody any idea of how much power varies between exhausts?

The new BMW Z4 will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month and will attempt to establish the all-new roadster as a bona fide sports rather than a boulevard cruiser. The Z4 will initially be launched with two 6-cylinder models – the 2.5i and the top of the range 3.0i. The 2.5i develops a maximum output of 192 bhp at 6,000 rpm and the 3.0i 231 bhp at 5,900 rpm. Acceleration from 0-62 mph is reached in 7.0 seconds in the 2.5i and 5.9 seconds in the 3.0i. Top speeds are 146 mph and 155 mph respectively. The 2.5i weights 1,260 kg, the 3.0i being only slightly heavier at 1,290 kg. A new chassis has been designed for the Z4 which succeeds in delive…
