How I repaired my Exaust for £10 My exaust was sounding bad but then it suddenly got very loud, upon examining the underneath I found that both pipes between the Cats and the rear box were both sheared in two. Here is a picture of one of them after I had cleaned it up with a wire brush after I bent back the metal shroud. PIC1 below I had a look around my local Car bits shop and they had some sheet stainless steel sold under the Gun Gum brand which I got and I decided to also get some jubilee clips, 4 x 40-60 and 2 x 75-95. The only fixing tools used were an electric screw driver and a small wrecking bar. PIC2 below I cut the stainless steel sheet …

Hi, my side lights have stopped working, I think its a fuse as I was playing with the head light switch wires (wiring in a fog light), but I dont know where the fuse box is. I have checked the box with relays and fuses on the near side inner wing. The head lamps are OK. Help please. Thanks.

Hi Guys, Just wondered what your opinions were on which lightened flywheel to get, can't seem to get a major difference of opinion on any of them from TT.net. So wondered if anyone on here had bad/good experiences with any particular make! All the Best, Mark

Hi Guys I'm looking to buy a 10 year old 300ZX TT and wonder what advantages there are of getting a Jap spec import over a UK model. So far I've only come across negative aspects such as; more expensive to insure more expensive to buy spares as Nissan put on a surcharge 280 bhp as oppose to 300 bhp (what are the mechanical differences which cause this difference in power?) Cloth seats instead of leather Is the above true or have I been miss-informed? Imports do however, seem a bit cheaper to buy. Thanks Jon

Looks like a cheap way of installing a dump valve. Are there any reasons why this is not a good idea? What pressure do they release at/is any Z dump valve useable like this? Thinking of doing this myself...

After being messed out with a few times with prospective buyers changing thier minds, I have decided to keep my pride and joy. Just for info:- the main thing that has been putting people off my car is the mileage. But thats ok. I met up with Jaylox on Tuesday and he couldn't belive how smooth the engine ran. Besides, I have just spent over a grand in servicing and mods in the past few weeks and will be spending another grand in the coming months on bits and bobs. I dont mind driving a 120k mile Z. But I do have a message for all you people out there looking to buy a Z. "You gets, what ya' pay for!" THE "FOR SALE" SIGN IS WELL AND TRULY GONE! ......... …

Who else thinks its ugly and slow? Cant see how they reckon it relates to the original 240Z. And look at the nose - not a patch on the Z32. Perhaps I`m talking crap and its just me. I`ve tried to like it but it looks like a wide-mouth Billy Bass Dodge to me.

Anyone seen the new series of driven and think its utterly sh** as well? We were discussing it at work (like ya do) and can only conclude thats they've spoiled what was a decent programme. If I wanted to know what some scally thought about a motor I would go down my local, and as for the sumo challenge, what a load of crap. Bout time they had some proper motors on there!!! Roll on the new series of 5th gear where at least we might get to see the new 350!!!

  20. Thia ia a repost from tt.net. I need as much advice as possible. So here is the situation. There is going to be the biggest competition in my country 1/4 mile with proper time slips and everything. (Thats for first time). Thousand of people will attend and I will be the only guy with a 300ZX racing. There is going to be skylines, rx-7 etc etc. Today they informed me (actualy they confirm) that i will be racing against a 500Hp Supra. Therefore I will need some expert advice on the following. The event is after 2 weeks. I am stage III (Blitz induction kit, 2.5" BB triflo, and JWT ECU. currently running 14.5) Here is what i intend to do: CAR IS TWIN …

  21. I tried Firebond .co.uk following a recommendation from this site. I got a quote on the net for a classic policy having declared my car as a Fairlady Z Twin Turbo. The price was £342.55. I phoned Firebond to check the cover and again told them it was an import. They reduced the premium to just over £300 as I was a member of Z club. I gave them my credit card which was authorised and was told that the cover note would be in the post tonight. About a half hour later I received a call from a manager saying that he had cancelled the policy as the car was an import. After some time arguing he confirmed that as the cover note had been issued, he would send …

Without kicking off another "To Modify or Not to Modify, That is the question" debate... I'm looking for a bit of advice on the replacement of the OE rear spoiler for something errmmm ALOT BIGGER!! My gaytex foam effort is peeling like a sun ripened fruit and doing the rest of my Silver Winged Beast From the East an injustice. Time for either: a) a respray - quoted around 200 quid to get re-primed and sorted. or b)New high level rear wing. Firstly, I want it all to look really good. No dodgy joins, no poking out over the rear in the wrong places and certainly nothing like the cardboard-tastic nasties sellotaped to the back of many a Citroen Saxo roun…

Sorry guys,`I hate to do it, but I am moving back to the US. So its time to sell the Zed. Ive never sold a car in the UK before. How does it work? Ok being a little more specific: 1. Where are the best places to advertise, Auto Trader, Loot, etc 2. What about insurance and test drives? My policy is named drivers only? 3. Is all I have to do to complete a sale to sign the back of that DVLA document? 4. Do I have to pay any taxes on the sale? Thanks

I use an Intellimouse Trackball and could not recommend it highly enough. You move around using one finger(index) and right/left click with your thumb. It takes a day or 2 to get used to it, but it's much more efficient. You can also still use an ordinary mouse as well after using it for a while. It's a bit like an auto box, only better !!

I am looking at buying a mechanical boost controller (Dawes). Firstly, does the Z have one or two wastegates and secondly, are mechanical boost controllers any good? At £40-£80 they are ceratinly cheap! Cheers
