Anyone seen the new series of driven and think its utterly sh** as well? We were discussing it at work (like ya do) and can only conclude thats they've spoiled what was a decent programme. If I wanted to know what some scally thought about a motor I would go down my local, and as for the sumo challenge, what a load of crap. Bout time they had some proper motors on there!!! Roll on the new series of 5th gear where at least we might get to see the new 350!!!

Thia ia a repost from tt.net. I need as much advice as possible. So here is the situation. There is going to be the biggest competition in my country 1/4 mile with proper time slips and everything. (Thats for first time). Thousand of people will attend and I will be the only guy with a 300ZX racing. There is going to be skylines, rx-7 etc etc. Today they informed me (actualy they confirm) that i will be racing against a 500Hp Supra. Therefore I will need some expert advice on the following. The event is after 2 weeks. I am stage III (Blitz induction kit, 2.5" BB triflo, and JWT ECU. currently running 14.5) Here is what i intend to do: CAR IS TWIN …

I tried Firebond .co.uk following a recommendation from this site. I got a quote on the net for a classic policy having declared my car as a Fairlady Z Twin Turbo. The price was £342.55. I phoned Firebond to check the cover and again told them it was an import. They reduced the premium to just over £300 as I was a member of Z club. I gave them my credit card which was authorised and was told that the cover note would be in the post tonight. About a half hour later I received a call from a manager saying that he had cancelled the policy as the car was an import. After some time arguing he confirmed that as the cover note had been issued, he would send …

Without kicking off another "To Modify or Not to Modify, That is the question" debate... I'm looking for a bit of advice on the replacement of the OE rear spoiler for something errmmm ALOT BIGGER!! My gaytex foam effort is peeling like a sun ripened fruit and doing the rest of my Silver Winged Beast From the East an injustice. Time for either: a) a respray - quoted around 200 quid to get re-primed and sorted. or b)New high level rear wing. Firstly, I want it all to look really good. No dodgy joins, no poking out over the rear in the wrong places and certainly nothing like the cardboard-tastic nasties sellotaped to the back of many a Citroen Saxo roun…

Sorry guys,`I hate to do it, but I am moving back to the US. So its time to sell the Zed. Ive never sold a car in the UK before. How does it work? Ok being a little more specific: 1. Where are the best places to advertise, Auto Trader, Loot, etc 2. What about insurance and test drives? My policy is named drivers only? 3. Is all I have to do to complete a sale to sign the back of that DVLA document? 4. Do I have to pay any taxes on the sale? Thanks

I use an Intellimouse Trackball and could not recommend it highly enough. You move around using one finger(index) and right/left click with your thumb. It takes a day or 2 to get used to it, but it's much more efficient. You can also still use an ordinary mouse as well after using it for a while. It's a bit like an auto box, only better !!

I am looking at buying a mechanical boost controller (Dawes). Firstly, does the Z have one or two wastegates and secondly, are mechanical boost controllers any good? At £40-£80 they are ceratinly cheap! Cheers

Hi All, I've been waiting for an oil change for months to replace the oil pressure sender too. As my mechanic was supposed to be doing my bushes last w/e I asked him to do that too. He says he can't find the sender(!?!?). I know some others have had trouble locating it - is it in a different place from the documented standard location on a 1990 Jap TT?? Thanks in advance! RobH

Are oil temp senders and oil temp gauges calibrated to work together or can any oil temp sender be used with a oil temp gauge? ------------------ Z first and anything else is secondary! John (Nukem) Newcomb www.geocities.com/jn300zxtt

...how much the new(ish) Hyundai Coupe looks like the 350Z. Just been sat behind one in traffic and I have to say it is a pretty nice looking car. I heard something about a 2.7 V6 version a while ago - a poor man's Z perhaps?

Hello All, Just to say that this forum really works. Keeping a Z on the road by going through official channels costs a fortune, but with the help of you guy's it's a little more manageable! I just had all new belts (inc. Cam belt) fitted, oil changed (Mobil 1) and the trottle bodies and TPS cleaned. She now purrs along, and finally ticks over at under 1500rpm!!!! Without the suggestion of DavidP for using a mechanic in Harrow I would have been bunging Nissan UK about £800 in labour and parts. From the place in Harrow it was £230!(including 6 spark plugs!!!!) The Z Centre were VERY helpful, I have managed to get hold of a rear bumper side relector, and a …

Yeh.. I know wrong forum, but what the hey. Just got the beast re-insured.. 1990 tt import fully comp: 360 quid ! 200 quid cheaper than last year! anyway, surprised me (31, ipswich) I got a 400 quid quote from firebond too.. seems they are doing imports again on their classic car policy. But the thing is, you loose your no claims after 2 years with firebond, since the classic car policy doens't use it. The 360 quid one, takes account of my 9 years no claims. Anyway, thought I'd pass it on. Company is LifeSure.co.uk stu

Hi all, My mechanic friend was finally going to fit my bushes last saturday, he reckons that they won't fit with the metal sleeves being the same length as the bushes, he thinks the sleeves should be about 1cm shorter than the poly bush to allow it to fit into its housing on the chassis.....the housing would have to be forced apart to fit it in :-( The car is a 1990 Jap TT - are all early Zs the same in there bushing requirements or do I have the wrong part? Is he talking out of his...hat?? This is really annoying - I've been waiting to get it done for one reason or another for four months plus!! Any help appreciated Cheers! RobH

Picked up my Z on Saturday after drooling and waiting over 3 years to be able to afford and justify one, and wow! is all i can say, what a car. I recall seeing someone advertise there's for sale because it was to much of a 'monster', and man they are a hand-full if you don't show them some respect. i had her fish-tailing just pulling onto a round-about, i thought the 200sx was a fair speed but the twin spinnies on the Z are a real kick-in-the-pants. Why my ramblings?, well just to say hi, and add my 2p on what a wonderfull car the Z is..... this is one happy Z owner, now all i need to do is buy some shares in a petrol company..... ps. big thanks to Jeff @ ZedW…
