Couple of links to keep the masses amused on this absolute first for this forum! Anyone noticed that there has been a whole week without a major kick-off? Bravo! LMFAO Enjoy... What's with the dolls though? Nice car and pukka wheels This is dragging but checkout the times for the auto 300...awesome! Especially the reaction times. Any one got a pair from a car being broken? Been advised that the Mongoose back boxes UI have on now are producing too much back pressure and I need to loose them in favour of some straight through ones? ------------------ Z first and anything else is secondary! Just a quick note to anyone searching for a recommendation for an upholsterer to do re-trims. I have just had the first part of my interior re-trim completed and I am so impressed with this guys work I will actually recommend him. He is charging me just £200 for re-trimming the rear seats, all door/centre console and underdash trim panels. I am supplying the material for the job. I think this is superb value for money and having just got the rear seats and two panels back from him his workmanship is truly excellent. His name is Paul Salter, Derby, 07887-864797. ------------------ Z first and anything else is secondary! John (Nukem) Newcomb www.geocit…

As my car isn't running propperly at the mo I want to check its not the ECU screwing up. I want to swap the ECU with another Z to see if this cures the problem. I have a TT and a guy up the road has an NA. Would using this chip make things worse? More importantly, is it safe?

Anyone who's converted their 300 themselves, how did you get the insert out of the back of your crank before putting in the pilot bearing? Looking at it last night, I assume that I need a really small puller. Any tips? Cheers. ------------------ 'I hope I die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather and not like his passengers....'

  11. I am looking to get a PCV valve and rear crank oil seal from Courtesy Nissan. Will these fit a UK car? I cant see any reason why they wouldn't, but I want to make sure before I part with my money. Does any one know the price of a PCV valve and rear crank seal from Nissan UK? Cos if about the same its not worth it. Stuart [This message has been edited by SRRAE (edited 26-09-2002).]

Are there bushes/bearings in the steering arm - that, when worn create horizontal movement? Or do I need to replace the rack? Probably a daft question, but your help appreciated. Got through the MOT - but with a comment! AndyGP

I recently bought my Z and was wondering what the best way to start it was? I have a key and have found that to be fairly efficient but is there any other way of getting her going? Someone mentioned to me that there is a crank handle in with the toolkit and that if the car won't start you can manually crank the engine like you could with the old bi-planes and cars of old. Any input much appreciated. TIA MARIA P.S. or should I have posted this in the Tech section??? ------------------ "Life sucks. Get a F**king helmet, okay?" Denis Leary

Again I drive G reg import with auto. So if the position of the auto gear stick whilst stopped was not interesting enough ... what about slowing down? As I come off the motorway onto the slip road I have developed the habit of disengaging the (so called) overdrive, to help the process of slowing. I now find myself shifting down to 2nd when I get down to say 2,500 rpm. Should I go further and shift to first - again when the rpm has reduced to a safe level or is this completely wrong and I should be using the brakes? Again points are scored for being informative, point deducted for bad language. Simon
