I installed a wireless network at home. Its grrrrrrrrrreat!!!!!!! No more wires trailing around the house/up the stairs. I went for a netgear solution from inmac but my mate sats that LinkSys are better. But the netgear solution was cheaper, not by much, and I am familier with their kit. Zimon p.s. I am sitting in the lounge watching the footy and I am on the forum as well. See blokes can do two thing at the same time!

  4. I've just realised that the famil business may come in handy to some of you guys. We sell and use many many types of printing equipment etc. If anybody would like caps or T-shirts with 300zx or Z logos of any type or even a pic of something you have on your PC printed on them then i can organise it. Would be easier if a group of you wanted the same logo but i can recreate any picture/logo or whatever on a Tshirt or cap etc in unbeatable quility both the picture and garment. The T's are polyester on the outside with a cotton inside and are fully washable a a normal shirt. I can also do engraving of metal plates in any logo or design in various meta…

Well it had to happen, everything else has gone well since i bought it a month or two ago :-) I got in the car the other morning to find the edge of my seat wet... I know where the water is coming in because as i was driving around corners more water came in - almost like having an in built shower! I have a jap targa top, and it is coming in on the seam where 2 rubber seals meet at the top of the window/targa top. The actual rubbers look ok... I did a bit of searching on the forums and found some people suggest putting something behind the rubber seal to push it out - to make a tighter fit to the window. Someone else suggested loosening the screws that…

I recently bought my Z and before I start it, or even use the automatic gearbox, should I at least read the manual? Someone said ... "Read the manual you got with the car" and then quoted the manual as saying... "What the manual basically says is that under normal driving conditions use D, rapid overtaking etc. O/D off. Towing or going up steep incline use 2 or 1. That's pretty much it apart from the additional power button you import guys have." But close examination of the manual revelled... Is it better to spout advice without reading the manual and hope I do not get found out or check my facts before pontificating? Any inp…

With my new autoglym set, what can i say.. it looks superb, used super resin polish and glass polish, they reccommend using the glass polish for thr rubebr trim, but it didnt do anything, but the super resin poish made them nice and black. Wish I had a camera now to take a photo its so shiny ------------------

Just thought I'd share a little info regarding the Avon tyres I had fitted to the front of my Zed. These were 235/45 ZR17s and made a terrible drone above 45 mph. It sounded to me like the wheel bearing were rumbling and when I was advised to change the tyres, I was suspisious to say the least. The problem was, there was still plenty of life left in the Avons. However, I replaced them this morning with a couple of Toyo Proxy's and, hey presto, the horrible noise has gone! Don't think I'll be buying Avon's again, despite their good grip qualities.

ok, my clutch is starting to slip now so i guess i may as well replace it with an uprated one - any recomendations on which one/how much/where to buy??? nothing too heavy, at the mo just got induction & zorst, plan to chip & boost increase after and thats about it, so if we're to believe JWT's data, thats about 400bhp (which im lead to believe is a little optimistic) also while im there i was thinking of fitting a lightened flywheel, again, recomendations/cost/where from?? also anyone whos done this - how much difference did it make?? been quoted about £400 a piece from the smithmeister, was hopeing to spend a little less if poss!! courtesy c…

Who has the first Z (as in manufactured) on the forum? When i bought my first Z it was the 196th Z made thought it was the easliest id ever see untill i saw one that beat it by nearly 100!. The first ones will be J spec (as they got em first) most probably registered on an F pleate but maybe on a G judging by DVLA's standards. If your chasis no is 500001 you have the first Z. Then again its probably on some jap scrapheap, but it would be interesting to see where the first Z is. B19RKS

Anyone know of any alternative buttons for a Momo type wheel? I ideally want one with 2 buttons so I can rig up a couple of accessories to it. Seen some on Demon Tweeks site but they look a bit naff. [This message has been edited by ChrisC (edited 28-09-2002).]

well, having finally found two insurance companies that have no problem with me modding my zed as much as i like upto 400bhp, then i am finally going to consider the works. i have already had new turbos, engine rebuild and run boost controller, chip exhaust, and intake. going to think about the wide arch kit now, respray, wide wheels and lowering springs, maybe a few other engine mods but nothing else serious. the main thing now is getting traction as in low gears i spin a lot. Also had polyurethane bushes put on recently to tighten things up a bit and new 3gbrakes brakes all round. man!! this zed stuff is addictive!!. steve

Finally got to court yesterday after waiting 5 months for the summons. 100.1 on motorway = 6 points and £145 fine. Not to bad I think. Still get to drive me lovely motor, but will be off road any way replacing the shocks. Would have prefered a small ban. [This message has been edited by Devil (edited 27-09-2002).]
