General Discussions - 300ZX Related

My misfire is now happening on the road not just the dyno. I think its mostly cyl 6 but I think its time to replace the ignition coils, PTU and low tension wires. Is courtesy nissan the best place, and is there anything else worth replacing at the same time? (I got new plugs). Anyone know the likely cost? Who knows how to fit the new tension leads to existing loom? cheerz

Hi , I am a new member Just purchased a 1993 zx twin turbo, auto, can anyone tell me what the 'power / hold' button does and dashboard warning light comes on when traction is being lost.

i have been thinking hard about what to do after my bottom end blew last weekend. I am condsidering buying andyD's zed, as it has a new engine, its a series II, manual, and black just like mine. i could then use my zed for spares and claw some cash back by breaking my old zed. Alternatively, i could just get a brand new engine from nissan, and use all the new hoses and other new parts i have bought for my last engine and install the whole shabang in my zed. what do you guys think? regards steve

Well guys - 10 yrs on and the Zed is in EVO mag this month, not the 350z but a nice Z32! Tim

Basically i had it set up at 10PSI. But as soon as NOS kicks in it goes up to 13PSI. Generally!!.. I am speechless. I felt that i was about to take off. I was going slowly with 3rd gear when I hit the gas for first time and it felt like i was in 1st gear. After 5/6 test runs engine runs perfect and generally i am excited about Saturday. So lets see. a) 300Hp (Standard HP for TT Manual) b) + 100Hp Nos c) + 10Hp Intake d) + 15Hp Exhaust system e) + 30Hp from raised boost f) + 20Hp from strip interior --------------- 475Hp Hopefully with slicks i will have a good start.

Just to let you know, I was ordering a load of bits from courtesey and got the usual discount from TT.net. I then said to the guy I can get these parts for a certain price from ebay, can you match them. He then came down a whole load more dollars to such an extent that it wasn't worth getting the parts from ebay to save a few bucks! Have been offered a 280ZX manual gearbox. Will this fit My SWB 300ZXTT (auto , but gearbox isnt working.) The guy who is selling said he will also do the conversion. He has all ready built a spanking 280zx from two crashed ones and seems quite handy. He says the 280's manual gearbox was the same as what is used in the V6 300ZX. Is this correct or is he talking about the 84-89 300zx?? And while on the topix is their any difference between the TT and NA manual box on the 90+ZX?? Thanks Roy

I was just wondering how many Uk 300ZX TTs there are in the UK? Or how many were sold between 90 to 96 by nissan.
